Summary/Objective
The Health Information Management Systems (HIMS) program at Southern University at New Orleans strives to be a premier academic program dedicated to developing the next generation of health information management professionals. Through strong partnerships with healthcare organizations, industry leaders, and research institutions, the HIMS program remains responsive to workforce needs, aligned with accreditation standards, and committed to innovation in HIM education.
The Clinical Coordinator for the HIMS program serves a dual role in teaching and clinical coordination, ensuring students gain the knowledge, skills, and supervised practice experiences required for credentialing and gainful employment. The Clinical Coordinator builds and maintains partnerships with healthcare facilities to secure high-quality clinical placement sites that meet program, accreditation, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include assigning students to clinical sites based on curricular needs and site availability; coordinating student schedules; confirming student readiness for placement; and ensuring compliance with confidentiality, patient privacy, and health information management standards.
In collaboration with program faculty, the Clinical Coordinator ensures that clinical experiences are fully integrated with the curriculum and aligned with established learning outcomes. This includes providing ongoing guidance and support to students during clinical placements; monitoring performance; offering timely feedback; addressing challenges that arise; and evaluating the effectiveness of both the clinical sites and the overall experiential learning process. The Clinical Coordinator also works closely with clinical site supervisors and preceptors to clarify expectations, provide training or resources as needed, and support effective student mentorship and evaluation.
Consistent with the University Faculty Handbook, Program Coordinators administer individual degree programs within a college and are responsible to the Department Chair. Duties include coordinating course schedules, teaching assignments, and accreditation activities; monitoring and assessing program effectiveness; initiating curriculum updates; and working collaboratively with faculty to support student advisement and overall program quality.

- Works collaboratively with the Department Chair and College Dean.
- Responds to program inquiries and has a complete/concise knowledge of the Health Information Management Systems (HIMS) Program curriculum and graduation requirements.
- Recruits and retains students through graduation. Also, closely works with other HIMS faculty and the Office of Recruitment to actively recruit HIMS majors.
- Support student academic performance and timely degree progression by creating academic improvement plans for students on academic probation, and overseeing the coordination of pre-professional opportunities and/or internships (if applicable).
- Reviews the program annually to ensure continuous improvement. Lead all efforts in completing the self-study report and program reviews. Also, provide all requested documents for SACSCOC and other specific items/updates.
- Develops marketing communications, including emails, web page design, and social media posts, with SUNO’s Public Relations (communication and marketing) and Department Chair.
- Develop meaningful relationships with on and off-campus stakeholders to enhance student experiences and ensure successful student graduates.
- Actively pursue external funding for program enhancement and undergraduate research (student support) via the grants and sponsor research office.

Required education and experience
- MA/MS degree or equivalent in HIMS or a closely related discipline (from an accredited university).
- Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or precepting students or new employees, ideally in a healthcare or academic setting.
- Demonstrated experience working with healthcare systems such as EHR platforms, clinical workflows, or health data management processes.
- Knowledge of AHIMA curriculum competencies, CAHIIM accreditation standards, and best practices for HIM education.
- Experience coordinating or supervising clinical placements, student internships, or practicum experiences in an academic or healthcare environment.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience in health information management, health informatics, clinical documentation, or a related healthcare setting.
- Current RHIA credential.
- Experience developing, evaluating, or managing clinical affiliation agreements with healthcare facilities.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines (HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, state health department rules) relevant to clinical training and HIM practice.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data related to student performance, accreditation, or clinical site evaluation.

- Doctoral degree preferred.
- Proficiency with academic learning management systems (LMS) and clinical placement management platforms, such as Canvas and InPlace.

Machinists in this position participate in the design, fabrication and assembly of various production and research projects. Using a variety of precision machines (e.g., lathes, grinders, EDM, CNC and milling machines) to support aircraft engineering and production groups.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform bench work (e.g., drilling, honing, tapping, reaming) on production and experimental parts, as required

Job PurposeAs an Engineer within Seat and Package Development Department you are expected to provide logical designs as part of a project team supporting model developments. Working with project team members and crossfunctionally, you are expected to learn, grow, and develop your know-how and engineering skills.
Key Accountabilities- Engineering Solution Design – Draft engineering solutions for an assigned component / part (or more complex parts with supervision) and the associated drawings and validation processes, to gather data and provide feedback on their feasibility, costs, quality, and performance.
- Engineering Specifications – Carry out a range of activities under the direct guidance and supervision of more senior engineers to draft engineering specifications for an assigned component / part and the evaluation of their effectiveness, to inform manufacturing work in the organization and / or of its suppliers. Ensure functional safety standards are met.
- Data Collection and Analysis – Collate and analyze data using pre-set tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
- Integration & Correlation – Work to collaborate and integrate your design into the vehicle with other groups under the direct supervision of more senior engineers. Learn from interactions with other groups (i.e. design, testing, manufacturing, styling, service) for the assignment at hand.
- Supplier Management – Work with existing suppliers to mature designs and address issues in a timely manner to achieve project requirements.
- Documentation – Prepare logical and conclusive documentation for review by more senior engineers to record and submit all necessary development/testing/research information as the respective activities mature.
- Project Management – Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals such as schedule, cost, investment, or weight. Provide regular updates and contribute in project team meetings.
- Personal Development – Develop own expertise and capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Gain or maintain external professional accreditations where relevant to improve performance and fulfil personal potential. Build proficiency in relevant technology and increase knowledge of external regulations and industry best practices through ongoing education, conferences, and specialist publications.
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- BS Mechanical, Aero, Automotive or equivalent Engineering experience
- BS Bio-Mechanical, Bio-Medical, or equivalent Engineering experience
- BS Industrial Design or equivalent industry experience
Minimum Experience:
- 3+ months engineering experience including co-op, internship, senior project, or equivalent
Other Job-Specific Skills:
- Past experience with CAD software (CATIA V5 or V6 preferred)

Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking multiple Machinist Assemblers Precision to join our Machinist departments in either Seattle, WA or Tukwila, WA .
Machinists in this position participate in the design, fabrication and assembly of various production and research projects. Using a variety of precision machines (e.g., lathes, grinders, EDM, CNC and milling machines) to support aircraft engineering and production groups.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform bench work (e.g., drilling, honing, tapping, reaming) on production and experimental parts, as required
Assemble parts using rivets and bolts with correct tools such as rivet squeeze, lock bolt puller, rivet gun and bucking bar, power screwdriver, or ratchet per engineering requirements
Lay-out, plan and sequence machining operation
Analyze and interpret drawings, sketches, blueprints and verbal instructions to determine work to be performed on detailed precision parts (e.g., aircraft castings, fixtures, tools, shop aids)
Use shop math, geometry and/or trig to calculate dimensions
Determine/obtain raw material to be used (e.g., brass, aluminum, steel, composites, and wood) for machining or fabrication per drawing or customer requirements
Set up operate and adjust all common machine tools (e.g., lathe, mill, bridgeport, electrical discharge machine (EDM), drill press) to accomplish work on precision assemblies
Select machine to be used in machining process
Check machine to be used for missing, loose, damaged equipment, check oil and coolant levels and fill, as required
Write programs as required for multi axis machines
Adjust machine settings (e.g., speeds and feeds) to correct machining problems or to prepare machine for next operation in sequence
Perform minor editing of CNC programs per shop requirements
Select and check cutting tools per program or CNC documents
Ensure cutters are the correct type, length, diameter, radius, and are in good condition
Select machine accessories and holding devises (e.g., chucks, vises, turntables)
Verify that apparatus is in good condition
Identify fixtures and/or shop aids to be built and fabricate as required using mill, lathe, bandsaw, drill press, sander and grinder
Attach machine accessories, tools and shop aides using dial indicators, edge finders, wrenches, bolts, clamps, and overhead cranes
Monitor machine during operation for unusual vibration or sounds, watch machine gauges and controller display or digital readout for warnings, visually check cutter path, clearance and chips to ensure smooth operation
Check work with precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges) and ensure parts are free from defects (e.g., finish, dimensions, mismatch, tool marks) and complete per drawing, sketch or verbal instructions
Assemble, fit, check, test of developmental machine parts and assemblies to customer specification
Troubleshoot and test precision assemblies with working groups (e.g., engineering, production, inspection, manufacturing resource & development (MRD)) to resolve tooling/production problems
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials (e.g., coolants, solvents) in approved manner (per Material Safety Data Sheets) using personal protective equipment, as required
Maintain personal tool certifications, as required

Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime; some positions may also be rotating shifts
