Lay-out, fit, and weld fabricated components to assemble structural forms such as heat exchangers by performing the following duties.
What you will be responsible for:

  • Ability to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components to assemble structural forms
  • Proficient in blueprint reading for layout
  • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding; a layout, positions, aligns, and fits components together; positions work pieces manually or by using overhead or jib cranes.
  • Ability to clamp and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Use tape measure, square, combination square, level and other related hand tools for part fabrication as per blueprints.
  • Perform simple mathematics calculation to find part dimensions.
  • Perform 100% first article inspections (first piece of each fabricated drawing) by visual examine work piece, measure part or hole dimensions or sizes, square, flatness and other drawing instructions.
  • Set up welding machine and welding gun: assemble/disassemble welding tips and its liner, wire feed and voltage, using arc or gas-shielded arc welding equipment.
  • Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Operate cutting torch and plasma torch.
  • Operate small saw machine and iron machine for cutting and coping, notching materials.
  • Transfer or position work pieces manually by using overhead or jib cranes. Examines and feels surface of work piece for defects. Forklift is an advantage to perform tasks.
  • Identify and select different type of materials including different grades of metal for fabrication.
  • Selects grade of abrasive wheel, disk and die grinder bits according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives, and condition of metal, and attaches to grinder.
  • Ability to pull trigger to start and hold power tool (i.e. chatter gun, die grinder, angle grinder etc.) and move it over surface of work piece to remove weld splatter, high spot, burr, and rust from surfaces of structure components including scratches, laminated metal and excess weld material.
  • Ability to load trucks manually with lifting equipment.
  • Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on-site, ability to work overtime.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.

Summary/Objective:

The Structural Engineer position is primarily focused on mechanical structures and supports for our industrial and commercial divisions (local and national accounts). This position works closely with our Project Leaders and our in-house design teams to provide designs and concepts along with professional guidance when needed. This may include leading or participating in discussions with other stakeholders on designs including stamping any self-performing work.   • Performs structural analysis and designs for a variety of projects with a focus on but limited to mechanical platforms, supports, and racks for large commercial and industrial projects.

  • Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to develop integrated project solutions.

As a Professional Engineer, or Professional Structural Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and safety of communication structures. Your responsibilities will include assessing the strength of existing towers—such as guyed, self-supporting, and monopoles—to determine their load capacity. You'll then prepare detailed reports outlining their capabilities and proposing modifications to enhance their resilience. Alongside these tasks, you'll review incoming service requests to determine appropriate actions and provide guidance on field inspection reports, recommending necessary repairs or upgrades. What You Will Do:

What You Will Need:

Professional Engineer (“PE”) license is required.
Ability to become licensed as a PE in multiple states via reciprocity is required.
Structural Engineer (“SE”) license required.
Working knowledge of TIA/EIA-222 code and other relevant Design Codes (e.g., ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS) is required.
Working knowledge of TARP policies is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience with AutoCAD preferred.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Lead Model-Based Systems Engineer (Level 4) to join the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Team in Berkeley, MO.

Boeing Phantom Works is building the next generation of combat aircraft and the required infrastructure to test and validate designs; we’re looking for enthusiastic systems engineers to join us on that journey. As part of the Electromagnetic Verification Facility (EMVF) team you’ll provide engineering leadership to a team comprised of multiple skill areas, develop statements of work (SOW), work with customers and management, manage changes to the SOW and conduct impact analysis, and provide technical, business, and integration leadership for the development and execution of the program.

Position Responsibilities

  • Support/lead system architecture development and decomposition using MBSE (SysML/Cameo) to define interfaces, functions, and allocation across multiple domains
  • Maintain alignment within the EMVF team and with our suppliers and customers; identify obstacles and work as a team to remove them.
  • Support/lead the program in implementing MBSE as part of the broader digital engineering ecosystem
  • Support/lead development and provide quality review for EVMF deliverables in collaboration with other engineering teams.
  • Support management in maintaining cost, schedule, risks, issues, opportunities, and technical baselines for the EVMF effort, and support identification, tracking and proactive management of metrics for program execution and product performance.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 7+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Experience with one of the following:
    • Planning and execution of verification certification or acceptance test efforts (lab, ground and/or flight tests)
    • Decomposition of Government or customer standards, development of certification or integrity plans, execution of verification/certification programs
    • Development of deliverables requiring coordination across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Prior Systems Engineering experience to include but not limited to system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation
  • Experience with MBSE, Cameo/MSOSA, and/or SysML

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Experience developing and/or managing program baselines
  • Demonstrated experience developing system architectures for complex aerospace vehicles or subsystems using MBSE (SysML/MSOSA)
