Roles and Responsibilities Overview
The Physician Advisor is a full-time administrative physician role serving CHRISTUS St. Michael hospital and its affiliates through teaching, consulting, and advising both the Care Management Department and the medical staff on matters regarding physician practice patterns, documentation, over- and under-utilization of resources, medical necessity, compliance rules and regulations, collaboration and relationships with payers, and the community. The PA also ensures physician support and execution for the Care Management and CDI Departments' initiatives by promoting effective and efficient physician documentation to support the patient's Level of Care (LOC), billing status, and appropriateness of Medicare Severity-Diagnosis Related Group (MS-DRG)/DRG assignment. The PA will submit monthly time records documenting time actually spent in the provision of the responsibilities outlined below. M-F, no call responsibilities!

Professional Qualifications
The Physician Advisor-Care Management and Clinical Documentation Improvement role should be staffed by a physician with the following qualifications:

Physician Advisor - Care Management & CDI Duties and Responsibilities

Utilization Management Plan: 20%

In collaboration with the Director of CM, lead the Utilization Review Committee

Conduct secondary status reviews for appropriate level of care determination

Conduct peer-to-peer consults with the payor medical directors for the denied cases, to resolve medical necessity issues prior to claims submission.

In collaboration with the CMO and Director of CM, monitor key metrics for UM and participate in action steps to achieve targets. Metrics include (but not limited to):

Denial trends, appeals & recoveries

Length of stay- inpatient and observation

Physician & Staff Education: 15%

Provide education to physicians and other clinicians related to regulatory requirements, appropriate billing status and utilization of alternate levels of care, community resources, and end of life care.

Provide mentoring/coaching to UR Case Managers to increase knowledge in care progression

Participate in review of long-stay patients escalated from Care Management to facilitate the use of the most appropriate LOC

Review cases that indicate a need for issuance of a hospital notice of non-coverage determination. Discuss the case with the attending physician and if additional clinical information is not available, discuss the process for issuance and appeal with the physician.

Document patient care reviews, decisions, and other pertinent information per hospital policy

Possess foundational knowledge of InterQual and MCG criteria

Participate in Care Management Leadership & staff meetings to help identify and progress toward departmental goals

Notify the Care Manager of any conflict of interest in reviewing a particular patient record. Assist with identifying a physician to review such record.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The minimum requirement for applicants is a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree and an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Food Services Management/Hospitality or Business Administration. 

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of supervisory experience in the high-volume foodservice industry, preferably in a concessions environment for a sports and entertainment venue. Strong communications, time management, computer literacy, and proven leadership skills are required. Computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products. 

Serve Safe Certified and Management Food Handler Certificate preferred.  

This position may involve operating a company vehicle and/or golf cart on university or company property. As such, candidates must have a valid driver’s license and have not been issued more than three moving violations or have been responsible for more than three accidents (or any combination of more than three thereof during the past 12-month period). SUMMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Head Coach for Men's Lacrosse/Game Management Assistant leads all facets of the men's lacrosse program, including practice and competition management, student-athlete recruitment and retention, fiscal oversight, supervision and mentoring of assistant coaches, academic and personal development of studentathlete recruitment and retention, fiscal oversight, supervision and mentoring of assistant coaches, academic and personal development of studentathletes, scheduling, travel coordination, and alumni and family engagement. In addition to coaching duties, the incumbent supports the Athletics Facilities team by performing secondary responsibilities as a game management assistant, contributing to the setup, coordination, and administration of home athletic events to ensure a safe, organized, and positive experience for teams, officials, and spectators.


In carrying out these responsibilities, the incumbent follows the University's best practices to build and/or support student academic success and retention and assist in meeting strategic objectives for persistence and timely graduation of all the student population.


EXAMPLES OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Lacrosse Coaching & Program Management



  • Performs all the duties associated with managing and serving as the Head Coach of men's lacrosse, including but not limited to managing practices and competitions, team recruitment and retention, budget management (e.g., equipment, recruiting, personnel), supervision and mentoring of assistant coaches, mentoring student-athletes, competition schedule development, transportation and meals for away contests, alumni and family engagement
  • Ensures compliance with NCAA, Conference, and institutional policies and procedures, including the NCAA Principals of Ethical Conduct, and demonstrates professionalism on and off the field
  • Reinforces the priorities of health and safety through attention to the NCAA acclimatization rules, NCAA Sports Sciences Institute consensus statements, National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletics Equipment (NOCSAE) protective equipment standards, institutional policies and procedures, and best practices in collaboration with the Sports Medicine team
  • Collaborates with department and campus partners to support team publicity. statistics, health and injury reporting, equipment management, and the upkeep of sport and locker room facilities
  • Assists with evaluating, selecting, and ordering program equipment and ensures that annual reconditioning and recertification of equipment is conducted

Game Management Support



  • Serves as a member of the athletic facilities team for game management support


  • Assists with field and facility setup and breakdown for home contests, ensuring all areas are prepared safely and in accordance with departmental standards
  • Supports game day coordination to help deliver a positive and wellorganized game day experience
  • Serves as an athletic administrator at home events when assigned, helping oversee game operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with conference and NCAA expectations
  • Coordinates with department and campus partners to support smooth execution of home events and game day logistics
  • Helps ensure that game operations adhere to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and expectations for safety, sportsmanship, and event conduct
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned and/or the job description may be changed periodically to reflect changing organization needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree


EXPERIENCE:


Demonstrated (3 years) experience as a collegiate lacrosse coach


Demonstrated (3 years) experience recruiting and retaining student-athletes


OTHER:


Regular travel to off-campus locations


Must be available to respond to situations that arise during holidays, weekends, or evenings


Possession of a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Driver's license must remain valid throughout the duration of employment in the position.


Successfully completes required annual NCAA Division III rules testing, maintains relevant certifications, and fulfills assigned training requirements


CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications

Job Summary

The Georgia Institute of Technologys School of Architecture invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at Associate or Full Professor in the School of Architecture in the area of Architecture and Design Computing. The successful candidate will: First, lead the development of research agendas in this area; second, serve as steward for the Eastman Fund to support doctoral students; and third, work with the School Chair and the Dean in order to reshape the mission of the Digital Building Lab (DBL).

The DBL was created by professor Chuck Eastman to address design computation, data standards and interoperability. Over the years it has housed studies in design and construction automation; project delivery systems; and smart buildings, infrastructure and environments, often working in conjunction with the Digital Fabrication Lab which provides a setting for design-build projects for the faculty and the students. The DBL has also fostered collaborations between the faculty of the School of Architecture, the School of Building Construction and the School of Industrial Design, as well as collaborations with the research labs of the faculty including the Shape Computation Lab (SCL) and the High Performance Buildings Lab. Under professor Chuck Eastman, funding came from both successful research applications and from industry memberships. The partnerships with industry fostered and sustained a link between academic research and advances in practice as well as in research internal to major architecture firms. Now is the time to redefine and revitalize the vision and the mission of the lab, taking into account current developments in artificial intelligence, data-based design decisions, and advanced digital modeling of buildings and their performance.



Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the successful candidate include securing and conducting funded research, stewarding the future identity and growth of DBL, mentoring early career researchers, advising PhD students, leading the development of forward-looking curricula for the MS Arch and PhD programs, and teaching advanced graduate courses in candidate's area of expertise.



Required Qualifications

Candidate must have a terminal professional degree in Architecture or an allied discipline.



Preferred Qualifications

A strong record of publications on architectural and design computation and/or the development of digital technologies applicable to building design and construction; and a strong track record of sponsored research, industry collaboration, and teaching. A Doctoral Degree is preferred. An interest and ability to relate research to studio teaching is welcome but studio teaching is not a requirement for this position.

The College of Sciences (CoS) and the College of Engineering (CoE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia invite applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions in the field of solar-terrestrial science and/or space weather. Applicants will be considered at all ranks, though there is a particular focus on the Assistant and Associate ranks. Areas of interest include but are not limited to the Earth's ionosphere and magnetosphere, space weather forecasting and resilience. Applicants with research interests in any or all of sensors and observations from ground or satellite instruments, data analysis and data science, modeling and theoretical research, are all welcome to apply. The position will be supported by the National Science Foundation under the Faculty Development in geoSpace Science program. This unique faculty search is being pursued by a joint effort of two Colleges, enabling candidates across a broad range of backgrounds to apply. The departmental home of the hired candidate will be determined based on best fit and may be anywhere within CoS or CoE. The successful candidate will be named the Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Eminent Scholar in Neuroengineering, an endowed position specific to the Georgia Tech campus. GRA eminent scholars are expected to engage in or contribute to translational and/or economic development efforts in their field. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The department seeks a visionary scholar-educator and proven leader in high impact and emerging areas of importance to human health and biomedicine. We are specifically interested in the areas of neuroengineering and neuroscience, particularly developing and using approaches in machine learning and AI, with neurotranslational potential. The College of Computing (CoC) at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) invites applications and nominations for two inaugural Krishna A. Bharat Professorships in Computational Journalism, at its campus in Atlanta, Georgia. The Bharat Professorships will further research and innovation that focuses on information access in the public sphere, exploring responsible, civic-minded approaches to computational journalism and civic technologies broadly. The chair is endowed by Krishna Bharat, a Georgia Tech doctoral alumnus in computer science and the founder of Google News.

The scope of this search is not limited to journalism as conventionally defined.
