The selected candidate will have the opportunity to join the F/A-18 Mission Systems software team and support various capabilities within the Vehicle Health Management team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Leads the design, development, tests, and maintenance of embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards

• Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products. Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations

• Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products

• Debugs and leads resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products. Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis

• Leads handling of user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis.

• Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development

• Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks

• Plans, executes and documents, software research and development projects

• Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

• Performs software project management activities and software supplier management functions

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• 4+ years’ experience with hands on experience writing C++ software for integration with real-time embedded systems

• 4+ years’ experience with Vehicle Health Management experience

• 4+ years’ experience of training, mentoring, advising junior software engineers across entire lifecycle of software development

• 4+ years’ experience working on a project where various software development methodologies are being utilized

• Demonstrated expertise leading complex projects across multiple teams of engineers.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

• Familiarity with implementation and requirements of Vehicle Health Management areas such as Built in Test, Power Control, Maintenance Codes, Erase, Loading

The roles will involve software development for tools that support simulation infrastructure across Flight Simulation Labs. Selected candidates will be aligned to a statement of work that best suits their interests and skillset, some of which could include:

Position Responsibilities:

• Participate and/or leads in developing air vehicle requirements for aeroelasticity including flutter, divergence, freeplay and rigidity
• Collaborate with the airframe & subsystems design and analysis engineers to generate integrated aero and structural models for flight vehicle analysis consistent with a Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment
• Perform analysis for flutter, divergence, aeroservoelasticity, freeplay and rigidity to support air vehicle design and stores integration
• Define allowable flight envelopes and operational limits
• Develop flight flutter test and ground vibration test plans
• Create finite element models and correlate to test results
• Perform ground and/or flight test programs, by the development of test requirements, providing data for pre-test analysis, monitoring testing, data analysis anddocumenting results, in order to support design and verification of vehicle and components
• Review and approves airframe and subsystems hardware packages for flight worthiness and to ensure the air vehicle meets the service environment
• Provide data to support the definition and documentation of structural design requirements for the service life of the product, to ensure company, customer and regulatory requirements are met
• Present engineering data and results to management and customers during program level reviews and other technical meetings

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Ride Control Software Engineers work within Imagineering’s Ride Engineering Studio in a highly collaborative environment on diverse teams. Engineering activities cover all aspects of ride control software design and implementation, from concept to commissioning, for a wide variety of innovative ride platforms.

The role of Ride Control Software Engineer Principal (Design Assurance) focuses on design, analysis, system safety, and verification across multiple projects, supporting project teams in critical engineering quality activities.

This role will report to the Executive, Ride Controls Software Engineering.

This position is located in Glendale, CA OR Orlando, FL.

This is a full time role.

Responsibilities:

Conduct design assurance activities in standards and best practices development, partnering with ride engineering partners across Disney Experiences and the amusement ride industry.

• Stay abreast of, and participate in the development of, company and industry standards and methodologies.

• Participate in company committees and industry organizations involved in ride safety and design.

• Maintain and improve engineering processes to meet project delivery and design assurance objectives.

• Conduct design assurance activities for ride project design review and testing, partnering with ride project team members.

• Review ride software designs for compliance with industry and company standards.

• Assess whether designs are of appropriate quality and meet project requirements.

• Advise project teams on optimal ride control software designs, safety analysis methods and results, and testing approaches.

• Mentor and train ride control engineers.

• Prepare and present Disney requirements and design practices for internal training.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 15 years of experience with ride control software design, engineering, installation, and commissioning

• Proficient in fail-safe and safety-related control system design

• Experience with requirements development, test plans/procedures, and test execution

• Extensive knowledge of ride control software architectures

• Solid understanding of communication protocols: TCP/IP, CAN, serial, ProfiNET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT

• Proficient in automated control software design applying functional safety concepts and standards

• Demonstrated practice in functional safety standards, including IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849

• Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards, including ASTM F2291

• Solid skills in technical document writing and communication

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of the design, build, and maintenance of mechanical or electrical test stands for development testing, production acceptance testing, functional and environmental qualification testing

Position Snapshot/A Day in the Life:

This Associate Engineer position will be within the Traffic Division of the Public Works/Engineering Department. With a team of 11 (7 of whom are primarily responsible for signal operations and maintenance), we are responsible for overseeing the City's transportation system, including supporting Capital Improvements Projects, Land Development projects, Street Maintenance, Planning, and others.

Under the direction of a Senior Engineer or City Traffic Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for reviewing private development and capital improvement project related traffic studies, identifying impacts and deficiencies, and determining the most appropriate improvements and design features needed. The ideal candidate is a proactive Manufacturing Engineer who will own product manufacturing from development through project completion. A successful candidate in this position will be responsible for developing conventional machining processes for engine ran and new power generation turbine components. The position also assists in shop floor execution, perform data analysis to drive process improvement, and interact with Product Engineering departments to address non-conformances and opportunities to improve design manufacturability. Our Manufacturing Engineers are expected to work collaboratively with other Manufacturing Engineers, Fixture Engineers, CMM Programmers, and Set-up Operators on a daily basis in these efforts.

This Manufacturing Engineer position will spend equal time working within establish manufacturing systems creating process documentation for production execution and working on the shop floor to observe and improve processes as well as process execution.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

* Develop and implement manufacturing processes and CNC programs for complex 4- and 5-axis milling of turbine airfoil components.

* Select and design cutting tools, fixturing, and machining strategies to optimize quality, cost, and throughput.

* Provide hands-on shop floor support to machinists, troubleshooting and improving machining and related processes.

* Collaborate with Product Engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve non-conformances and improve design manufacturability.

* Lead process improvement, development, and qualification projects, including data analysis, DOE, and documentation.

* Support production planning activities such as quality control plans, quoting, tooling inventory, and CAPEX initiatives

What You Bring (requirements)

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; 5+ years of proven 4- or 5-axis milling manufacturing experience.

* Strong knowledge of conventional machining processes for complex turbine components (blades and vanes).

* Proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter CAD/CAM and product data management systems.

* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications.

* Experience with CNC programming (online and offline) and fixture design for milling applications.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills with experience working in a production environment.

Job overview and responsibilities
Senior Line Engineers are part of a service engineering team that provide 24/7 engineering technical support for United Airlines Worldwide fleet of operational aircraft to ensure the timely return to service. Provide engineering support for a wide range of aircraft systems, maintenance programs, engines as well as operational engineering functions. Studies, analyzes, and seeks solutions to problems related to the design, operation, maintenance, performance, modification, or repair of aircraft, and their components.  Uses a structured, logical, and analytical approach in problem solving.  Defines maintenance program, configuration, and serviceability criteria ensuring safe and legal operations.  Analyzes and implements regulatory requirements.  Evaluates the effects of modifications or new equipment on reliability and performance.  Evaluates the benefits of the cost impact of a fleet decision to ensure an optimum balance of cost, asset utilization, quality, and reliability. Authors, designs, tests, and manages projects. Communicates with customers on technical issues, work scope recommendations, and failure investigations.  Interfaces with internal and external organizations regarding specific aircraft and component issues.

• This position leads and develops potentially complex solutions and implementation plans, project justification, cost/benefit analysis, management of project implementation, technical support, and obtaining FAA approvals as required
• Coordinate work with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and operational efficiency
• Organize and manage the priorities for assigned responsibilities and accomplish the work processes to meet all the deliverables for operational needs, projects and program changes/technical specification revisions

In addition to base pay, this role includes a $10,000 role-specific premium, separate and additional from the listed base pay range.

• Bachelor's degree or related experience in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace), related technical field or equivalent relative work experience.

• Ability to interpret complex and technical Engineering and OEM documents.
• Highly detailed level project development and management for regulatory compliance modifications, and overall ownership of specific systems.
• Must have the ability to communicate detailed, technical information under time-bound and stressful situations.
• Successful candidate will have working knowledge of airline or OEM operations.
• Knowledge of Code of Regulations (CFRs), airworthiness design and substantiation criteria, aircraft and equipment design and operational characteristics.
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

• OEM Structural Repairs for Engineers Training (Boeing/Airbus) with portfolio of designing major repairs for aircraft structures; metallic or composite
