About The Role

OpenLoop is looking for Registered Dietitians to join our team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for helping OpenLoop expand their virtual patient pathways. You’ll deliver evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and coaching alongside OpenLoop clinicians for patients on lifestyle-only and medication-assisted pathways.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide comprehensive virtual nutrition assessments and individualized care plans using the Nutrition Care Process (NCP).
• Deliver motivational interviewing, goal-setting, problem-solving, and relapse-prevention techniques.
• Coach patients on GLP-1/GIP and other AOM nutrition strategies (managing satiety, protein targets, fiber, hydration, GI side effects, micronutrients) and on non-pharmacologic weight-loss approaches.

Who You Are:

DUTIES:

• Assess / Monitor the Residents' nutritional status, provide recommendations to medical staff, and develop adequate care plans
• Evaluate special needs of Residents regarding nutrition support, skin breakdown, and significant weight issues
• Coordinate procurement of nutrition support supplies and oral supplements with outside vendors as well as involved department heads
• Monitor Resident meal service to ensure diet modifications are followed
• Educate Residents, families, and staff in concepts of nutrition & diet modification
• Routinely evaluate Dietary Care plans for effectiveness to ensure high quality of care
• Meet weekly with an interdisciplinary team to review and adjust residents' plan of care
• Work closely with Speech-Language Pathologist to ensure appropriate mechanically altered diets are provided for residents with dysphagia
• Reviewing all menu changes to ensure they follow the facility's policies/procedures & State/Federal guidelines
• Update diet order and menu changes in computer menu software on a daily basis
• Supervising & working closely with the dietary team to provide excellent Resident care
• Conduct audits of areas relevant to providing quality nutrition care on a routine basis
• Ensure the facility is in compliance with regulations and policies on weight monitoring
• Communicate with an interdisciplinary team on a daily basis to provide quality care to Residents

Summary of Position

The Staff Registered Dietitian(RD) provides personalized nutrition plans and medical nutrition therapy to individuals seeking care through telemedicine Nutrition visits on the Teladoc platform, while creating a professional yet comfortable environment. During the visits, the RD will monitor progress and modify the nutrition plan as required during subsequent visits. This role will provide virtual services on a 1099 contract basis. Patient-facing support (85%)

• Through virtual services (audio and video as required), analyze patients' health status, goals, and dietary restrictions, while tracking dietary intake and progress, and providing education on how to maintain a balanced diet while delivering superb clinical care.
• Utilize Teladoc-approved resources for member-facing support documents and programs, and adhere to quality standards.
• Refer to other specialists as needed whether on or off the platform.
• Demonstrate and utilize knowledge of other services available to members both internally at Teladoc and externally with the health plan or community.
• Work in a collaborative way with internal and external customers to assure members receive optimal care.
