The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) - Phantom Works organization is seeking an experienced Engineer to join the Signature Integrity Team in St. Louis, Missouri, as a Supportable Low Observable (SLO) Lead Engineer.
This role is critical for the development of tools and processes required to sustain stealth platform signature performance on advanced Air Dominance platforms.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to a team of SLO engineers, ensuring the effective execution of SLO plans while maximizing operational availability and minimizing life cycle costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the SLO team in maximizing operational availability and minimizing life cycle costs of Boeing products with low observable design features.
Analyze customer and system requirements to develop architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various products.
Develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications.
Validate designs through various methods of review, testing, and analysis.
Implement supportability guidelines early in platform design.
Share SLO experience and methods across low observable programs.
Identify improvements in designs, materials, tools, or methods to reduce life cycle costs for users.
Mature data collection and analysis tools to efficiently direct low observable maintenance actions.
Collaborate with materials & processes, product support, and reliability & maintainability engineers.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and documentation skills.
Prepare technical specifications, procedures, and reports.
Communicate results and status to project stakeholders, including government and suppliers.
Some travel (up to 10%) may be required to support fabrication and testing activities.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
10+ years of experience working with Low Observable (LO) Engineering Processes.
10+ years of work experience in Reliability & Maintainability, Product Support, or Materials & Processes Engineering.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance and Special Program Access (U.S. Only Citizenship Required).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques for effective communication of results.
Experience in technical writing and documentation for engineering specifications and reports.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Academic appointment (Tenure, or Academic Research Track) will be commensurate with candidate's qualifications and experience. Neuro-oncologist would practice at main campus in Urbana with 80% clinical duties at Cancer Institute/Hospital and 20% research at the U of I (protected research time dependent on interest and experience). Candidate will be expected to teach undergraduates, medical students, residents, fellows, graduate students, and post-doctoral candidates.
Neuro-oncologist would work with a team of 6 neurosurgeons, 7 hematology/oncology physicians, 4 radiation oncologists, and several APPs. For clinical work, the Neuro-oncologist will have two collaborating/mentoring physician providers with one in each department: hematology/oncology and neurosurgery.
Neuro-oncologist would evaluate patients and prescribe chemotherapy and biological therapy to patients with primary brain tumors and would assist hematology/oncology physicians with management of patients receiving intrathecal chemotherapy with Ommaya reservoir. Neuro-oncologist would have clinic with appropriate staffing and access to Infusion Rooms and would practice in a multi-disciplinary setting with biweekly Brain Tumor Case Conference and a strong support from all hospital services. Neuro-oncologist would become a member of our future multi-disciplinary neuro-oncology clinic and would have clinical collaboration and back up coverage with hematology/oncology physicians.
Exceptional research opportunities and brain applications for imaging with new 7 Tesla MRI. The U of I has a strong focus on neuroscience with a variety of research projects: from cognitive neuroscience study of human learning and memory to several imaging projects at Biomedical Imaging Center at Beckman Institute. This includes MRI and molecular imaging (PET/SPECT/CT) labs that can support imaging research for humans, animals, and materials. The candidate would be able conduct basic science research, or translational research with the U of I faculty. The candidate will be supported to develop relationships and collaborate with the existing researchers as well as physicians in other clinical departments. The candidate will be supported to attract intramural and extramural funding, and develop hypothesis driven research protocols. Research start-up package will be provided to support new graduates.
Hematology/Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Neurosurgery are committed to providing the highest quality of care for patients with primary and metastatic brain, base of skull and spine tumors. Our neurosurgeons perform awake craniotomies for resection of brain tumor, stealth neuro-navigation, operative microscopy, intra-operative ultrasound, neuro-monitoring and fluorescence guided glioma resections. Spinal fusion is available for patients with metastatic disease to the spine. Radiation Oncology has state-of-the-art technology with Varian True Beam linear accelerator with the most sophisticated beam shaper (micro-MLCs) offering a very conformal delivery of radiation therapy to brain tumors with avoidance of the normal brain tissue. The radiation oncology/neurosurgery team routinely performs cone based stereotactic radiosurgery for patients with trigeminal neuralgia and base of skull tumors
