Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:


Firearms Maintenance and Repair

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain DEA small arms weapons inventory, including pistols, rifles, carbines, shotguns, and precision weapons.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and certification of firearms in accordance with manufacturer specifications and government standards.
  • Replace or repair firearm components, including barrels, triggers, firing mechanisms, and other internal components.
  • Conduct live-fire testing and functional verification following maintenance or repair to confirm safe operation.

Armorer and Technical Support

  • Provide advanced armorer-level support for various firearm platforms used by the DEA.
  • Perform firearms refurbishment, rebuilding, refinishing, and restoration as required.
  • Utilize machining equipment, including mills, lathes, and grinding tools when required for fabrication or modification of weapon components.
  • Apply metal finishing techniques, including parkerizing, bluing, and Cerakote refinishing.

Weapons Inventory and Accountability

  • Maintain accurate records of all firearm inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs using DEA systems.
  • Track weapons using serial numbers, firearm type, caliber, and maintenance records.
  • Conduct periodic inventory of firearms, accessories, and related equipment to ensure accountability.

Firearms Training Support

  • Prepare firearms, optics, and related equipment for Basic Agent Training and firearms qualification events.
  • Support firearms instructors and training programs by ensuring weapons are serviceable and available.
  • Assist with firearms-related training activities when authorized.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance, inspection, and repair actions.
  • Record all work in the DEA Firearms and Qualification Tracking System (FAQTS).
  • Prepare written reports and documentation as required by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).

Logistics and Equipment Support

  • Support shipment, packaging, and documentation for firearms and ammunition shipments to DEA locations domestically and internationally.
  • Coordinate warranty repair and maintenance with firearm manufacturers when required.
  • Assist in evaluating and recommending gunsmith tools, equipment, and supplies.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all DEA safety procedures and firearms handling protocols.

  • Supports DV and PV test execution and propose design changes needed
  • Coordinate prototype and/or 3D printed parts to assist in development of products and the debugging & resolving of issues
  • Proactively solve mechanical problems, design issues, and specification discrepancies with the customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Travel to customer engineering centers (local) and manufacturing sites as needed during the product launch
  • Support Program Development Lead on assigned engineering milestone deliverables as tracked in Promise (Program Management System)
  • Participate to RFI/RFQ process by providing the BOM and initial package concept.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of mechanical engineering role in an OEM or Tier-1 automotive industry
  • Experience in Packaging of Automotive Display products or similar
  • Experience / exposure to CAD & PLM software (Teamcenter, CATIA, NX or similar)


Skills and competencies:

  • Familiarity in understanding the mechanical, thermal, stress, and other FEA simulation results and interpretation
  • Familiarity with FMVSS, IATF/TS16949 and ISO/IEC requirements
  • Competent using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Manages ambiguity, manages complexity, customer focus.

About the Role

We are seeking a Production Control Coordinator to support a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing work orders, production flow, and material coordination to ensure jobs move efficiently through the shop floor.

You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to maintain accurate production scheduling, documentation, and workflow control.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create, release, and manage work orders and manufacturing travelers
  • Coordinate production scheduling and job routing
  • Track WIP (work-in-process) and monitor job progress
  • Manage raw material planning, blank sizing, and material utilization
  • Prepare cut plans / core plans for production
  • Ensure tooling, fixtures, and machine readiness before job release
  • Maintain production documentation, traceability, and records
  • Collaborate with CNC programmers, technicians, and inspection teams
  • Support quality checks and manufacturing workflow efficiency


Qualifications

  • Experience in production control, manufacturing planning, or scheduling
  • Strong knowledge of work order management and job shop environments
  • Experience with ERP / MRP systems
  • Ability to track and manage WIP and production flow
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills


Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in precision manufacturing or optical fabrication
