The West Division of Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Chemist Technical Director. This position will focus primarily on Clinical Toxicology and Mass spectrometry in the Portland and Spokane Laboratories. The PhD level position will be responsible for providing direction and to serve as the technical advisor and clinical consultant for clinical toxicology, mass spectrometry and clinical chemistry for the laboratories.
Reporting to the Senior Clinical Chemist, West Division, the Clinical Chemist Technical Director will join an incredible team of two Clinical Chemist and two Medical Microbiologists who provide technical and clinical oversight for testing over four regional laboratories.
Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and have experience and/or training is clinical toxicology and maintaining mass spectrometry assays.

Responsibilities:
- Reviews and reports patient results accurately, and with integrity
- Accurately and promptly responds to client inquiries that are technical in nature
- Effectively communicates with clients, physicians, nurses, pathologists and Labcorp staff and Laboratory teams
- Oversees the technical component of the laboratory to ensure that patient results are reported reliably and in a timely fashion.
- Ensures accuracy for all chemistry testing in the lab, including instrument performance and addressing root causes when issues arise
- Guides implementation of new assays and instrumentation in the lab in collaboration with the research and development team
- Makes recommendations to improve workflow, support staffing needs as well as optimization of reagent utilization
- Serves as last-stop to solve clients' technical problems (i.e., test rejection)
- Assists the Quality department to ensure all required regulations are followed
- Projects credibility and builds rapport with medical providers/Labcorp clients, providing quick/accurate responses to inquiries
- Keeps up with scientific advances and other literature, offering perspectives about improvements, such as how a report reads
- An interest in providing staff educational seminars, participation in national clinical societies and publishing peer-reviewed manuscripts is encouraged
- Sets the tone in the lab for performance and quality
- Shares experiences and ideas with discipline directors, such as improvements to SOPs, reports, interfaces
- Works effectively and efficiently with the Laboratory Site Director on the above functions and as deemed necessary
- Other duties as needed.
Requirements:
- PhD with Board Certification from the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (DABCC), or DABCC board eligibility. Candidates with clinical chemistry fellowship training are strongly encouraged to apply.
- The position is based on-site in the Labcorp Portland Laboratory. Travel to the Spokane laboratory quarterly is highly encouraged.
- Training in a COMACC fellowship is preferred
- Expertise in clinical toxicology and mass spectrometry
- Leadership skills to work with laboratory staff, developing their capabilities and involving them in problem-solving/urgent matters
- Deductive reasoning/analytical skills to reach a resolution to customer inquiries or lab opportunities/issues

We are seeking a Judicial Specialist 1 to join our team. Our Judicial Specialists provide technical and administrative support to the court and provide assistance to our court users and community members. Work is performed independently and as part of a team. Tasks are completed with general guidelines and require some independent judgment. - Communicate a wide variety of information to the public regarding court functions and procedures by telephone and in person at the front counter.

- Set cases for various types of hearings including arraignment, pre-trial, trial, mitigation, contested, show cause and motions; prepare court calendars and notify parties related to case by subpoena, summons, officer notice and bonding company notice; process continuance requests and notify parties involved.
- Track cases with continued, suspended or deferred status; monitor cases on probation for various evaluations, schools, or management courses (i.e. alcohol, victims panel, anger management, defensive driving school) obtain record checks, review compliance and non-compliance reports, send notices and prepare calendar.
- Prepare and perform various duties to maintain various calendars including but not limited to; contested calendars and photo calendars. Determine if defendant is eligible for personal recognizance bond by reviewing court records. If eligible, complete forms, set appropriate hearing, and recall warrant.
- Maintain accounts receivable and time pay accounts; send statements and delinquent notices, order and send collection statements.
- Maintain warrant control; issue, recall, process and purge warrants; maintain failure to appear control; order, issue, adjudicate and purge as appropriate.
- Act as mental health/commitment coordinator, prepare orders, and contact Western State or other doctors to coordinate an appointment for evaluation, prepare transport order, coordinate with jail, attach order with needed documents and coordinate all other schedules and information.
- Monitor and process probation information, including docketing and photocopying status reports to determine if a hearing is necessary.
- Prepare and perform various duties to maintain various calendars including but not limited to; criminal calendars, judicial review calendar, jail calendar, contested calendars, photo calendar and pre-trial/trial calendars.
- Determine if defendant is eligible for personal recognizance bond by reviewing court records. If eligible, complete forms, set appropriate hearing, and recall warrant.
- Serve as jury coordinator; select, qualify, summons, track attendance and hours served by Jurors, and calculate expenditures.
- Serve as court clerk while court is in session and record and document proceedings; perform bailiff duties during jury trials; direct and accommodate jurors.
- Calculate, accept and account for bails, fines, restitution and costs; enter transactions in computer system recording receipt of funds; balance journal and make daily deposit as assigned.
- Perform various duties related to the domestic violence legislation requirements including but not limited to preparing orders, copying, notifying Domestic Violence Advocate, entering information into computer, searching for information.
- Maintain confidentiality and tact in dealing with the public.
- Issue vouchers authorizing witness fee and juror payments.
- Contribute to an environment of teamwork and respect.
- Foster a culture of equity and inclusion by recognizing the diverse needs and perspectives of groups and individuals.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects that improve drainage, reduce stormwater pollutant discharge to creeks, and improving fish habitat. Work will consist of delivering design and construction of small- to mid-scale stormwater projects, providing technical reviews for consultants, coordinating with the public and other city departments, and supporting senior engineers on large-scale complex projects. Essential Functions for Civil Engineer 1 and 2
- Participate in the selection of consultants, negotiate consultant agreements, monitor consultant progress and expenditures, manage contract, and provide technical directions to consultants; oversee the work produced by consultants to ensure that consultant deliverables are of high quality, meet the objectives of the project, and conform to applicable standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
This team reviews medication prior authorization requests and coverage determinations for the Medicaid, Medicare and Health Exchange lines of business.
A typical day consists of reviewing 140 to 160 clinical prior authorizations or coverage determiantions* Develop clinical criteria for medications, recommend plan design changes, and clinical programs to be initiated
