Overview
We are seeking a highly capable and strategic Operations Manager to lead and optimize our organizational processes across various departments. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily operations, driving business development initiatives, and ensuring the achievement of operational excellence. Essential Job Functions
· Directs day to day manufacturing to achieve established production goals on budget, including labor to sales ratio; and, works to continuously identify cost efficiencies and to improve processes.
· Supervises approximately 25-50 employees including performance evaluation and performance management; oversees recruiting/hiring utilizing best practices to ensure staffing needs are met; and, participates in and promotes employee engagement and retention efforts.
· Analyzes and troubleshoots complex process challenges in collaboration with engineers, technical staff, and the organization senior leadership team.
· Consults with customers regarding new applications, existing product improvements, and product issues to promote positive customer relations and encourage business development.
· Leads employee training and compliance; and, ensures safety, health and environmental procedures and best practices followed at all times.
· Supports and maintains quality systems; leads SPC, layered audits and daily work procedures to ensure production time optimized.
· Works closely with executive team to maximize plant safety, quality, efficiency and profitability.
· Coordinates engineering, maintenance and other support functions to ensure efficient production with limited down time; manages production line preventatives maintenance to effectively limit production down time; develops long and short-term goals with an emphasis on “continuous improvement” of quality and profitability.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Preparation Needed
· Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor of Science degree in Management or Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering; extensive experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably involved with metal finishing; and, extensive experience in supervising role in high volume manufacturing environment. Military experience preferred, and, in some instances may be accepted in place of manufacturing experience.
· Knowledge of electrochemistry, electric/electronic circuitry, and related materials; materials processing (including machining); assembly processes; metrology systems (mechanical, non-contact, and contact systems).
· Demonstrated ability to attract, motivate, and retain staff.
· Ability to manage projects; analyze and resolve complex issues using statistical tools; work with minimal supervision; and, the flexibility to quickly address new directions/concerns.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluency in foreign languages a plus; and, must effectively work as part of a team.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Computer Aided Design software preferred.
· Prefer experience with anodizing, chrome plating, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Surface Finishing Supervisor (Electropolishing / Plating Operations – 2nd Shift)
College Park, GA 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
We’re partnered with a growing valve manufacturing company that’s expanding operations and looking to add an experienced Surface Finishing Supervisor to lead and develop their 2nd‑shift electropolishing and plating team. This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for someone who understands chrome and nickel-plating processes and enjoys driving quality, consistency, and team engagement on the shop floor.
This role will train closely with the 1st‑shift manager and day team, making this a great environment for someone stepping into a long‑term supervisory role as the business continues to grow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and oversee daily electropolishing, chrome plating, and nickel plating operations on 2nd shift
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team (eventually overseeing 2 direct reports)
- Ensure quality standards are met for surface finish, cleanliness, and specifications
- Provide technical guidance on plating processes, parameters, and work instructions
- Monitor production flow, address process deviations, and support corrective actions
- Partner with Quality and Engineering to support root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Oversee safety, PPE compliance, chemical handling, and equipment reliability
- Maintain accurate production, training, quality, and maintenance documentation

General Summary
Responsible for driving the vision and execution of digital products (i.e., software applications), with a specific focus on enhancing search and discovery experiences, ensuring customers can easily find and engage with products across . Generally, works under minimal supervision on 1-3 features of medium complexity and/or an entire application. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize solutions that drive innovation, improve customer satisfaction, and align with business goals.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: (approximate percentage of time spent)
- Studies end-user needs, defines product features and coordinates activities across teams to meet quality standards, project deadlines and business objectives. Activities include: gathering and writing requirements for medium and large application features; conducting competitive analyses; and using product discovery techniques to aid in prioritization of features (e.g., A/B, surveys, interviews, etc.). - Develops long-term product plans (i.e., roadmaps), and leads stakeholders through the roadmap process for assigned product(s). - Strong customer facing digital subject matter expertise with experience working on medium complexity features and/or an entire software application.

As a Vetco Veterinary Assistant, you will meet your veterinary team at our local dispatch office, then travel to your assigned Petco clinic locations for the day. At the clinics, your team of veterinary assistants will greet the pet parents and recommend the veterinary services that will best protect their pets. The Veterinary Assistant will assist the Veterinarian so the services can be administered and thank the pet parent for protecting their pet!

Essential Functions & Work Environment
This role is performed in a Pet Care Center retail environment and requires active engagement on the sales floor.
* The role requires frequent standing and walking, as well as bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.
* Ability to safely lift and move merchandise, supplies, or animals weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Regular engagement with customers on the sales floor, including providing customer assistance and performing cashiering and point-of-sale transactions.
* Must be able to work in proximity to animals, including exposure to animal dander, odors, noises, and cleaning chemicals.
* Flexible availability to support Pet Care Center operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Position Overview
The Operations Leader - Merchandise is responsible for operational execution within the Pet Care Center, through the lens of Petco's vision of \"Healthier Pets. Happier People. Better World.\" The Operations Leader - Merchandise promotes and ensures the efficient and effective merchandising and inventory management operations of the Pet Care Center. This leader ensures all merchandise is accurately received, priced, stocked and backroom is maintained per Petco operational standards. This leader ensure the store achieves the Petco established goals and metrics. They are responsible for training, developing, supporting operations scheduling and supporting a high-performing team that delivers top-line sales growth, manages shrink, as well as assists in managing all aspects of the Pet Care Center's business in accordance with Petco operational standards and safety procedures.
Position Responsibilities

* Utilize business acumen to measure, analyze and diagnose business trends and to also utilize critical thinking skills to effectively implement business improvement plans.
* Responsible for supporting the implementation and execution of Inventory Management through training and coaching partners to include: Shrink, Cycle Counts, Receiving, and RTV/Recall.
* Responsible for supporting the implementation and execution of Merchandising Management to include Brand Standards, Pricing, Planogram Accuracy, Door to Floor, and Ad Set. through training and coaching partners.
* Process register transactions in a way that creates a great experience for each guest.
* Be proficient within our selling model and support guest interactions as needed.
* Responsible for the implementation and execution of Omni Channel through training and coaching partners to include: BOPUS, Ship-from-store, Curbside, Endless Aisle, and overall Guest Experience.
* Ensures the health, proper handling and welfare of all animals according to policies and procedures, including completion of hourly animal check list and wellness cards.
* Adheres to and promotes established safety procedures and maintenance of clean, safe and healthy environment for store partners, guests and animals and adheres to Veterinary Protocol for all sick animals.
* Ensures that the backroom and equipment is organized and maintained according to Operating Standards of Excellence.
* Perform routine housekeeping tasks to maintain the stores appearance and meet OSE standards.
* Trains and develops partners on proper receiving, processing and stocking procedures, WMR and food rotation practices according to Petco standards.
* Abides by and implements all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to those designed to minimize shrink.
* Ensures Return to Vendor and Hazardous Waste processed are managed per Petco policy.
* Ensures that the store is opened and / or closed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
* Accountable as Leader on Duty for supporting for supporting the guest experience, Pet Care Center execution, training, communication and maintenance of company initiatives, programs, legal compliance, policies, procedures, safety practices, and promotions.
* Train, coach, and develop Pet Care Center operations partners in close partnership with the sales team.
* Promote a positive leadership culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
* Operations Leaders are expected to display and champion the Petco Leadership Expectations.

* MODEL INSPIRING LEADERSHIP. Model leadership and selling behaviors to Pet Care Center partners and associates. Provide leadership to maintain a positive business climate that motivates Pet Care Center teams in alignment with our company goals. Serve as an effective advocate for change and growth.

Education and Experience
* A high school diploma or its equivalent required; some college level business/management courses preferred.
* 1 or more years of management experience or the equivalent is required, with 2 or more years preferred.
* Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
* Proficiency in communication skills, organizational skills, and computer skills required to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications as needed.
* Demonstrates proficiency in areas of general business practices, basic business & finance acumen, analysis and problem-solving skills, and high focus on people development & guest service.
* A qualified applicant will possess an aptitude for demonstrating strong guest service and the ability to instruct others.
Supervisory Responsibility
* The Operations Leader directly supervises the Operations Specialists & Operations Generalists
* Provides quick and courteous service to all guests throughout the Pet Care Center
* Ensures high merchandising standards are maintained throughout the Pet Care Center
* Ensures that the Pet Care Center is opened and / or closed in accordance with established P&Ps as it applies to SFS operations.
* In partnership with the Pet Care Center leaders, ensure proper Pet Care Center attendance processes are being maintained.
* Adhere to and promote established safety procedures for partners, guests, and pets.
Work Environment
This role is expected to provide support during key operational hours, with weekend availability. Most job duties are conducted indoors, although occasional merchandise stocking, customer carry-outs, and bank deposits will require that a partner leave the Pet Care Center briefly. Because this position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise (up to 50 pounds, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time, there may be risk of injury resulting from failure to follow safety precautions and procedures. A limited amount of travel will be required.
Contacts
This position has continuous contact with the public at the Pet Care Center and at Pet Care Center -related events, and regular contact and exchange of information with other departments in the field, Distribution Centers, and at the Support Centers. Contact outside of PETCO may be required to coordinate merchandise returns, ordering parts, Pet Care Center repairs, coordination of vaccination clinics, Pet Care Center events, vendor meetings, etc.
