Must have substantial knowledge and understanding of cardiovascular disease, dynamics of blood flow, Doppler, and color flow imaging techniques.
Expected to have a detailed understanding of ultrasound instrumentation, cardiovascular physiology and pathology, hemodynamics, and the ability to relate these findings into clinically meaningful data.

Demonstrates a working knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
Performs diagnostic exams including but not restricted to Echocardiography, TEE, Holter monitoring 2D/M-Mode, and color Doppler.
Performs echocardiograms by using ultrasound equipment and captures images of a patient's heart to assess its structure and function.
Prepare patients for exams by explaining the procedure, positioning patients, and applying ultrasound gel for optimal image acquisition.
Maintain equipment by ensuring the proper functioning of ultrasound machines and probes through cleaning, disinfection, and reporting any malfunctions.
Document patient information by recording exam details, measurements, and observations for physician interpretation.
Collaborate with the healthcare team by assisting physicians and nurses in performing echocardiograms and discussing findings to contribute to patient care plans.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Education/Skills High school diploma Experience 1 year of experience in Cardiac Ultrasound preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (DCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS or CCI.

Summary: With minimum supervision, the Multi-Modality Technologist will competently function in two (2) or more modalities within the Imaging Department.
This can include Diagnostic Radiology, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Special Procedures, Nuclear Medicine, or Mammography.
Performs various technical procedures requiring independent judgment and is responsible for designated areas or procedures as needed or assigned in two (2) or more modalities.
Responsibilities:

* Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures, some of a more complex nature, utilizing state-of-the-art computerized imaging equipment in more than one (1) modality.
* Requires flexibility to work competently within assigned modalities as needed or assigned.
* Interacts appropriately with patients and all care providers by coordinating and prioritizing procedures during the workday to maintain a high level of patient care and continuity.
* Possesses the ability and willingness to rotate within departments and clinics for proper coverage as needed or assigned.
* Upon completion of procedures, program the computer to ensure completion of the exam and all scan data is correctly stored in PACS.
* Ensures exam rooms are neat, clean, and adequately stocked before exams are performed and acts to ensure compliance with Infection Control standards.
* Coordinates and prioritizes procedures during the workday to maintain a high level of patient care and continuity.
* Ensures all charges are correctly coded and entered in the billing system.
* Performs all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless necessary in the performance of assigned job duties.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Excellent customer service skills required.

Coordinate and perform diagnostic medical imaging procedures for the Department of Ultrasound; assisting the Radiologist utilizing a variety of diagnostic ultrasound equipment, both fixed or mobile.
Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of high quality ultrasound procedures including all vascular studies under minimal supervision utilizing diagnostic ultrasound imaging equipment.Documents calibration procedures for individual imaging equipment.Coordinates, organizes, plans and makes quick decisions on emergent cases; evaluates and acts to maintain efficiency and maximize productivity.Assists the Radiologist in performing invasive biopsy procedures using the Ultrasound system to pin point exact anatomical location(s) of a specified diseased area for specimen evaluation and diagnosis.Perform all vascular ultrasound exams requested.Ensures that all procedures are accurately charged and that all charges are turned in at the end of the day for correct billing.Ensures that the Ultrasound room is adequately supplied, check equipment and computer status for readiness, reports any problems that could change the work flow and make sure corrective actions are taken to ensure of work flow continuity.Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a way that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of persons served by the department.Appropriately adapts assigned patient assessment to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific and other developmental needs of each person served.Demonstrates adherence to the Core Values of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care.Takes personal responsibility to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and standards as promulgated by state and federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.Performs all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless it is necessary in the performance of assigned job duties.Demonstrates adherence to the CORE values of Santa Rosa Health Care.Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience

Supervision Provided by this Position
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job, except that the incumbent may occasionally demonstrate various job responsibilities to other Associates. The incumbent will observe and instruct student technologists.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.

What qualifications you will need:EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
- Minimum Associates degree, diploma or BSN required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Current RN license in Texas or compact state required. BCLS certification required.
- ACLS, PALS, as age appropriate required within one year of employment or transfer to the department required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
- 5 years critical care experience preferred with a good knowledge of cardiac drugs and arrhythmias. Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring helpful, but not required. This position is exposed to ionizing radiation and requires the employee to wear a lead apron and stand for long periods of time.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Reads and writes basic English with the skills necessary to transfer physician's orders required.
- Ability to move in excess of 100 pounds, with assistance from other staff members required.
- Knowledge of sterile procedures required.
- Ability to listen, empathize, and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs required.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
