Himax Technologies is on the lookout for an experienced Pixel Design Engineer to join our Advanced R&D team in Irvine, California. Responsibilities:

This role will participate in new pixel designs and improvements of existing pixels by working closely with other design teams. This position is responsible primarily for pixel layouts including front-end, back-end and optical structure.

> Skillful and creative on optimizing pixel layout based on:

• Process flow information
• Layout design rules
• Pixel timing constraints and noise analysis
• Signal interferences analysis inferred by Capacitance extractions

> Pixel array composition, including:

• Implementing the floorplan of a pixel array
• DRC and LVS verifications on whole pixel array
• The layouts of dark pixel reference and other special pixels
• Interfaces with readout and pixel driver circuits
• Optical structure extensions beyond the active array boundaries

> Optical Design:

• Optimize optical structure layout shifts to accommodate image height dependent module lens CRAs

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years or Master's degree with 7+ years of hands-on experience with CIS pixel layout
• Masterful on IC layout related EDA tools and layout parasitic capacitance extraction EDA tools
• Knowledgeable about typical physics, basic timing and operation principles of CIS pixel
• Medium level programming skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Background is Electrical Engineering, Physics or Photonics.
• Familiar with CMOS image sensor process integration, device physics and optics are good pluses.

Salary Range

• $120,000- $180,000 (DOE)

Company Background:

CNSide Diagnostics, LLC is a subsidiary of Plus Therapeutics, Inc. that develops and commercializes proprietary clinical diagnostic laboratory tests, such as CNSide, designed to identify tumor cells that have metastasized to the central nervous system in patients with carcinomas and melanomas. The CNSide Cerebrospinal Fluid Assay Platform enables quantitative analysis and molecular characterization of tumor cells and circulating tumor DNA in cerebrospinal fluid, informing and improving the clinical management of patients. The Company is in the early stages of commercializing CNSide in the U.S.

Role:

The Laboratory Technologist – Imaging and Molecular Biology collaborates with the Laboratory and Medical Directors to perform high-quality, compliant laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and CAP/COLA/CLIA standards. This role is responsible for accurate fluorescence imaging analysis, tumor cell enumeration, and documentation supporting clinical diagnostic reporting. The position works closely with laboratory operations and scientific teams to support testing throughput, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement of imaging workflows in a regulated, high-complexity laboratory environment.

Responsibilities:

Microscopy & Image Analysis

• Perform tumor cell enumeration and analysis using multi-channel fluorescence imaging
• Interpret fluorescent images across multiple channels, distinguishing true cellular signals from background, debris, or nonspecific staining
• Apply standardized enumeration rules and reporting criteria for rare-event detection

Quality & Documentation

• Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation of test results and analytical workflows
• Escalate unusual, borderline, or unexpected findings and collaborate with scientific teams on interpretation
• Participate in inter-operator reproducibility assessments and imaging-related quality control investigations

Workflow Support

• Review and analyze images in accordance with batching schedules and laboratory throughput goals
• Support testing operations by delivering timely, accurate, and high-quality analysis results
• Assist in training and mentoring laboratory personnel in imaging techniques and analysis workflows

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Cytotechnology, or related life science discipline required; PhD preferred
• 3–7+ years of experience in clinical diagnostics, cytology, histopathology, immunocytochemistry, or diagnostic imaging
• Demonstrated experience with fluorescent microscopy and multi-channel image analysis
• Proficiency with professional image analysis platforms (e.g., Bioview, Zeiss, Olympus, Celigo, or equivalent)
• Experience in regulated, high-complexity laboratory environments; CLIA/CAP experience preferred
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex data
• Ability to follow controlled procedures and maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Cytotechnology, or a related life science discipline required; PhD with industry experience preferred
• 7+ years of relevant experience in cytology, histopathology, immunocytochemistry, diagnostic imaging, or related laboratory disciplines
• Demonstrated experience with fluorescent microscopy, multi-channel image analysis, and DNA FISH analysis
• Proficiency with professional image analysis platforms (e.g., Bioview, Zeiss, Olympus, Celigo, or equivalent)
• Experience working in regulated, clinical, or high-complexity laboratory environments (CLIA/CAP preferred)
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new imaging platforms, microscopy systems, and analytical workflows
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and lead teams effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment

Primary responsibility includes planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the diagnostic Imaging Services for the assigned hospitals. Activities included are performance of all diagnostic medical imaging processes in the hospital to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Ensure that services are of the best quality, are cost contained and are carried out in an expeditious manner. Additional responsibilities includes recognizing results or problems that require referral to the Radiologist, assuring competency of all personnel, formulating the budget for the department, maintaining performance improvement activities within the department and participating in CQI activities and maintaining efficient and effective departmental operations in compliance with all state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.

• Work with hospital administration and clinical consultant(s) on planning, organizing and directing Imaging Services operations and ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
• Make rounds in the Imaging Services areas to judge effectiveness of operation, utilization of personnel and supplies, and general ethical and professional atmosphere.
• Secure and maintain the physical facilities, equipment and supplies which are required to carry out effective patient care and create an optimum physical environment.
• Initiate and actuate improved methods of services and direct their implementation.
• Responsible for the fiscal operation of the department.
• Communicate appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administration.
• Interact professionally with patient/family.
• Consult other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.
• Establish and maintain standards of performance and ensures competency and appropriate licensure of personnel.

• Attend and participates in hospital committees, as appropriate.
• Responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of performance improvement and CQI activities.

• Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
• Travel to all facility locations as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Associates' Degree in Radiological/Physical Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Radiological/Physical Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
• Maintains Certification as Radiologic Technologist by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or equivalent, required
• ARRT certification in Computed Tomography, preferred
• AHRA Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) certification, preferred
• Current state licensure as required by the state in which practicing, required
• 5+ years' experience working in a medical imaging environment
• 2+ years supervisory experience in a medical imaging environment with Quality Assurance and medical imaging regulations/accreditation requirements, required
• Fluency in English; written and oral communication required
