- Safely set up, tear down, and prove out new and legacy jobs on:

- 3–5 axis vertical and horizontal mills
- EDM (wire, sinker, hole pop)
- Creep feed grinders
- Large horizontal broaches
- Interpret and execute work using engineering drawings, GD&T, routings, travelers, setup sheets, and work instructions
- Indicate fixtures and parts; build, load, and change tooling
- Establish work and tool offsets using probing systems (Renishaw preferred)
- Dry run and single block new/modified CNC programs to verify safe paths
- Identify process or program issues during prove out and escalate to engineering
- Make traceable G/M code edits (feeds/speeds, offsets, cutter comp, canned cycles)
Machine Controls and Inspection
- Operate across multiple CNC controls: Fanuc, Haas, Okuma OSP, Siemens
- Hold and verify tolerances to ±0.0005\"
- Perform in-process inspections using:
- Micrometers, indicators, bore gages
- Height gages, pin gages, profilometer
- Operate CMM hardware to run programs (no data analysis required)
- Operate Blue Light Scanner and HandyScan for data capture during troubleshooting
Production & Troubleshooting Support
- Support limited production runs by operating machines after setup
- Assist with machining of HRSA materials (e.g., Inconel)
- Communicate risks, issues, and deviations clearly to engineers and supervisors
- Follow established quality procedures and standards
- Maintain clean and organized work areas per 5S expectations
Equipment Care & Safety
- Perform basic machine care and preventative maintenance checks:

**** Essential Duties: Perform visual inspection.
Ensures quality of manufactured goods.
Inspect goods as they are finished.
Examine materials from production line before packaging product.
Ensure company is meeting required specifications in the manufacturing process.
Perform polishing of inspected product.
Record pass/fail grade of products.
Produce detailed reports.
Count number of products tested or inspected.
Weigh product and samples to verify packaging weight.
Compare color, shape, texture, or grade of material with color chart, template, or sample to ensure consistency.
Package product as needed.
Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to read engineering drawings, technical specifications, product certifications, manufacturing planning, and inspection procedures.
Ability to interpret SPC plans and results.
Strong attention to detail, close observation and concentration skills.
Excellent decision making, planning and organizational skills.
Report product status accurately, record "turn-backs for resolution, analyze product history for trends and identify nonconforming material to be properly documented and segregated using Computer software.
Prepare and use standard documentation for reporting and detailed inspection plans for the purpose of recording measurement results on Computer software .
Inspector is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of appropriate workmanship standards and be able to use sampling plans to establish product acceptance in line with the customer's specifications.
Possess a fundamental knowledge of manufacturing processes, familiarity and knowledge of machining, and a basic understanding of special processes (i.e heat treatment, plating, welding, etc.).
Work safely in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required.
A minimum of 1-3 years inspection experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Preference to have visual inspecting experience with semi-conductor products and/or aerospace products and assemblies.

Job Summary:
The Yard Operator II has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator II requires moderate complex knowledge of scrap grading. The Yard Operator II will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator II will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
2. Work involves a variety of tasks moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
3. Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
4. Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
5. Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
6. Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
7. Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
8. Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
9. Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.
10. Provide excellent customer service.
11. Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau.
12. Participation in daily safety routine.
Locations with Rail:
1. For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Assist in monthly inventory counts (where applicable)
2. Assist maintenance personnel in the performance of equipment repairs as required or directed.
3. Operate the Baler Operation.4. Assist in nonferrous processing; including segregation of materials to upgrade products. For example: Copper, Brass, Aluminum, etc.
5. Assist co-workers in daily operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability.
6. Stage and remove material for torching with a material handler (where applicable).
7. Problem solving input and contributions as required.
