Open Role: Associate Attorney (Med Mal + Other various cases)
• Run a varied defense docket (heavy med-mal + opportunities in products/mass tort, premises, legal malpractice, appellate).
• Take and defend depositions, brief and argue motions, work closely with medical and liability experts, and appear in court regularly.
• Collaborate with trial teams on complex matters and handle cases end-to-end where appropriate.
We’re looking for
• 3–4+ years litigation experience in insurance defense or civil litigation; med-mal experience is ideal, PI-plaintiff lawyers with strong medical records/injury experience are welcome to pivot.
• Courtroom exposure, dispositive motion practice, deposition experience, and expert work (must-have).
• Comfort with defense time-keeping/billing.
• (Also open to candidates with ~2 years from a med-mal shop at a small/mid-size firm.)
Compensation + Benefits
• Base: Up to $160k depending on experience
• Bonus: Typically 15%-18% of base, based on overall performance, hours, and firm contributions (no rigid formula).
• Billables: 2,000 hours/year.
• Medical, dental, vision; optional additional life/disability.
• Employee premiums: ~25% (associates); family coverage ~30%.
• 401(k) with profit-sharing (3–5%) depending on firm performance.
• Parental leave: 3 months at full pay.
