Position: Contract Driver Route Manager
Location: Romulus, Michigan
Reports to: Branch Manager
The focus of this position is to maintain 1099 Independent Contractor relationships in order to meet the driver capacity goals of our Romulus Branch operations. This person will meet all service requirements while adhering to the policies and procedures of Relay Express, Inc. The candidate must possess strong relationship skills and maintain a positive solution- based attitude at all times. The ideal candidate will have a strong intrapreneurial spirit and strong sense of ownership for performance and contractor support. This role serves as the key Liaison between Relay Express, our contractor partners and our dedicated customers.
Responsibilities:
Work with Corporate Recruiting and Safety: Interview, screen, and orientate the best Independent Contractor driver candidates available.
Responds in real time or in the same day to all responses and generates new leads to maintain a pipeline of new contractor drivers.
· Conducts phone and face to face screenings with prospective contractor drivers.
Assess daily volume of all routes to utilize properly sized vehicles and ensure changing route times are communicated to drivers.
Daily call with Corporate Planning to review coverage: overage and shortage.
Accountable for Next day Planning and confirmation to ensure local plan that meets 100% to customer OTP expectations.
Maintains administrative paperwork within the department:
Maintains open communications with all departments regarding contactor driver’s status and matters of attention.
Review each Shift Report for issues of service and plan for correction
Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
· Ability to motivate contractors.
· Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Maintain a professional image and demeanor while adapting to changing customer needs and driver availability.
Hours: 08:00 to 17:00 with an hour lunch.
Compensation:

The Plant Manager is accountable for overseeing the daily operations of the food manufacturing facility, including production, quality assurance, maintenance, sanitation, safety, and supply chain. QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Industrial Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree (MBA or related field) may be considered an asset, especially for larger or more complex operations.
Minimum Experience
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing or a closely related industry.
- 5+ years of direct experience in plant operations management, including oversight of production, quality, safety, and supply chain functions.
- Proven track record of managing in a regulated food production environment, with demonstrated understanding of HACCP, GMP, SQF, and FDA/USDA regulations.
- Experience leading and developing cross-functional teams in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing setting.

- Strong background in budget management, cost control, and performance metrics.

- Implement inventory control measures to maintain optimal stock levels
- Minimize excess inventory and prevent stockouts to meet customer demand
- Drive change in managing inventory levels and inventory turns and minimizing obsolescence, scrap, aged inventories, and inventory reserves
Quality Control
- Ensure that quality control standards are maintained throughout the supply chain process
- Collaborate with quality control teams to address and resolve any quality issues
Technology Integration
- Implement and leverage technology, such as ERP systems and supply chain management software, to enhance visibility and streamline processes
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal and external teams, including production, sales, finance, and quality control, to ensure alignment and coordination across departments

As a Claims Specialist in the IEL Claims Department you will be responsible for processing customer and carrier cargo claims. The primary function is to coordinate and manage the claim process for IEL brokers, customers and carriers. Critical to the role is document collection, claim presentations and working closely with insurance claim adjusters. The role is vital to the company’s risk management and loss prevention. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Position Description (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):
- Process Cargo Claims by processing claims IEL experiences from a variety of carrier service issues such as temperature abuse, cargo theft, incorrect or damaged product at delivery
- File claim through carrier insurance and manage claim until completion
- Record claims upon initial notification through the MyEZClaims software, IEL’s claim tracking software
- Work with Accounts Payable team members to process and collect payments
- Collect necessary claim documents needed to process and substantiate each case in an effort to mitigate IEL loss and exposure
- Assist with customer payment and overall satisfaction throughout claim process
- Adhere to Claims Department principles to ensure best practices are communicated through organization
- Develop claims training material and facilitate training sessions for sales team
- Identify trends and trouble areas that IEL can use to mitigate risk and future loss.
- Expand knowledgebase and continuously learn throughout the industry from experts, current events, and case precedent
- Provide reporting to management as requested and maintain accurate claim tracking
- Handle other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

Job Summary
We are looking for applicants with strong expertise in expression and purification of membrane proteins or other challenging protein systems. The successful candidate will contribute to research focused on structure function relationships and mechanisms of biologically important enzymes.
Responsibilities
- Express, purify, and characterize membrane proteins and other difficult-to-handle proteins.
- Design and perform biochemical assays to interrogate enzyme activity and kinetics.
- Analyze metabolites and enzyme products using mass spectrometry based approaches.
- Collaborate on project design, data interpretation, and publication preparation.
- Mentor junior trainees and participate in lab meetings and group activities.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Biophysics, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience with membrane protein expression and purification (or similarly challenging proteins).
- Knowledge and practical experience in enzymology and analysis of metabolites by mass spectrometry.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with metalloenzymes.
- Prior work with cytochrome P450 enzymes or related oxidative systems.

Job Summary
Perform installation and maintenance of components used in campus heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and related equipment including chilled water, refrigeration, air compressor, gas heater, air drier, fume hoods, and pumps. Regularly provide work direction to lower level mechanics and maintenance personnel. This position will interact with on a consistent basis with: maintenance supervision and staff, building managers and vendors. Install, repair, replace, operate, maintain, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing component used in HVAC.

Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.

Troubleshoot pneumatic, electrical, and digital controls.

May require purchase and accounting for HVAC related parts and materials.

Position requires the ability to read prints, drawings, and schematics via paper copies and computerized software systems. In addition, the job requires ability to operate machine tools, motor vehicles (may include forklift), hand/power tools, and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot and to sequence tasks for specific assignments.

This individual will help foster industry collaborations and build coordinated research and educational activities across the school's key areas of emphasis: Energy, Health, Transportation, Advanced Manufacturing, Intelligent Systems, and National Security.

- Develop industrial connections with ME faculty to boost industry funded research and education
