The Problem Blue Hour is Solving

America is facing a workforce housing crisis. We're short 4-7 million homes, and the people who keep our communities running are bearing the cost. Teachers commute two hours each way. Nurses sleep in their cars between shifts. Resort towns can't staff restaurants because workers can't afford rent within 50 miles. Factory employees choose between housing and other necessities. When essential workers can't afford to live near their jobs, everyone loses. Employers struggle to retain talent. Communities lose the people who make them function. And workers sacrifice their financial security, their time with family, and often their health just to stay employed.

About Blue Hour Housing

Blue Hour Housing is tackling this crisis head-on. We develop and manage high-quality, affordable workforce housing through partnerships with employers, nonprofits, and government agencies. Using adaptive reuse, strategic renovations, and new construction, we're creating housing solutions where they're needed most. We've proven the model. Today we operate properties across Vermont, Connecticut, Colorado, and South Carolina, partnering with employers such as Vail Resorts, Killington Resort, and Climax Molybdenum. Now we're scaling nationally to reach the communities and workers who need us most.

Β

The Opportunity

Blue Hour is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the design, planning, and integration of the company’s operating platform as we continue to scale nationally. This role is a senior leadership position and a close partner to the CEO, responsible for translating strategy into execution and directly managing functional leaders across property management, development, finance, and business development. The COO will focus on building the operating model, systems, and processes that enable functional leaders to execute effectively and the company to scale efficiently. The COO will ensure alignment across teams, create clarity around priorities and decision-making, and establish the operating rhythm of the business. The right candidate is a self-starter with an owner’s mindset, strong systems thinking, and a track record of operational rigor in complex, scaling businesses. This is a highly impactful role for a leader excited to help shape the next phase of an emerging platform.

What You Will Do

Operating Model & Strategic Planning

oΒ Β Design and continuously improve Blue Hour's end-to-end operating model, from new site onboarding through stabilization and steady-state operations

oΒ Β Translate company strategy into clear operating plans, priorities, and execution frameworks

oΒ Β Establish company-wide planning cycles, goal-setting processes, and performance management systems

oΒ Β Build the annual and quarterly planning model that keeps the company aligned and moving forward

Cross-Functional Integration

oΒ Β Ensure alignment and integration across Property Management, Development, Finance, and Business Development

oΒ Β Serve as the connective tissue between functional leadersβ€”clarifying roles, decision rights, and accountability

oΒ Β Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and act as the escalation point for cross-functional barriers

oΒ Β Develop structure and processes as needed to keep teams coordinated

Systems, Processes & Scale

oΒ Β Design and implement scalable systems, tools, and standard operating procedures to support rapid portfolio growth

oΒ Β Identify operational bottlenecks and lead cross-functional solutions

oΒ Β Evaluate and implement new technologies and workflows to improve efficiency, visibility, and accountability

oΒ Β Drive standardization where appropriate while preserving flexibility at the property level

oΒ Β Build the playbook: what does excellent look like at every stage from acquisition to operations?

Performance & Governance

oΒ Β Establish KPIs, dashboards, and operating reviews that give the leadership team real-time visibility into business performance

oΒ Β Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning from an operational lens

oΒ Β Ensure consistency in quality, execution standards, and performance across the portfolio

oΒ Β Develop accountability mechanisms to enhance transparency and drive results

Leadership & Company Building

oΒ Β Partner closely with the CEO on execution, prioritization, and organizational design

oΒ Β Support and coach functional leadersβ€”helping them succeed without taking over their responsibilities

oΒ Β Help build the internal structure, operating cadence, and culture required to scale to 50+ properties and beyond

oΒ Β Play a key role in recruiting, developing, and retaining high-caliber talent as the organization grows

What You Bring

oΒ Β 10+ years of experience in consulting or operations leadership, ideally in real estate, hospitality, housing, or another operationally intensive business

oΒ Β Proven track record building and scaling operating models, systems, and teamsβ€”not just running existing operations

oΒ Β Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders

oΒ Β Experience working closely with founders or executive teams in growth-stage organizations

oΒ Β Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure and process

oΒ Β Highly organized with excellent written, verbal, and general communication skills

What Sets You Apart

oΒ Β Builder’s Mindset: You’re a self-starter who has a strong bias for action, thrives in ambiguity, moves fast with limited direction, and is excited to design and implement scalable operating models and systems. You don’t wait to be told what to do – you take initiative to create clarity and momentum.

oΒ Β Strategic Systems Thinker: You connect dots across people, process, and product. You design solutions that solve today’s problems while laying the foundation for years to come.

oΒ Β Execution-Driven Operator: You’re a pragmatic problem solver who’s been in the trenches. You have strong organizational and project management instincts, can rigorously manage priorities with attention to detail, and know how to deliver tangible results.

oΒ Β Force-Multiplier Teammate: You elevate the room. You collaborate easily, share credit, and care more about winning as a team than being the hero.

Employee Benefits

oΒ Β Equity

oΒ Β Performance-based bonuses

oΒ Β Comprehensive health benefits package

oΒ Β Flexible work location with proximity to major airports (current team based in NYC)

oΒ Β Unlimited paid time off (PTO)

At Blue Hour Housing, we value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We encourage qualified candidates of all backgrounds to apply.

Director of Strategic Finance
✦ New
🏒 scribehow.com
$250 +
San Francisco, CA 1 day ago
TL;DR - Why This Role Matters

Scribe is at a pivotal point in its growth, and we’re hiring a Director of Finance to help define how the company scales from here. This role will own company-wide planning, forecasting, and play a central role in shaping how we invest, prioritize, and grow as the business doubles in size. You’ll partner closely with our GTM teams to translate growth ambitions into clear financial tradeoffs and outcomes. This role is designed for someone who wants real ownership, real judgment, and the opportunity to build the financial operating rhythm for the next phase of a high-growth B2B SaaS company.

About the Role

This role sits at the center of how Scribe plans, invests, and scales. As Director of Finance, you’ll own much of the company’s financial planning and analysis muscle, ensuring the business is making clear, disciplined decisions as we rapidly scale.

You’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of planning β€” from building the annual operating plan and forecasts to ensuring they remain accurate over time. This means holding teams accountable to performance, driving re‑forecasting when reality diverges from plan, and helping leadership understand the tradeoffs behind their choices. Finance is expected to be the arbiter of truth, and this role plays a central part in making sure the organization is operating from a single, trusted financial view.

This is a hands‑on, high‑ownership role. You’ll work closely with leaders across GTM, Accounting, and Operations to translate strategy into execution, surface risks and opportunities, and force clarity when alignment stalls. While the role does not start with a large team, it carries broad influence, visibility, and responsibility β€” and offers the opportunity to shape how finance operates as the company scales.

In your first 3–12 months at Scribe, you will:

  • Drive the planning process, including the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, budgets, and long‑range planning, and hold teams accountable when performance diverges from plan

  • Lead the development and maintenance of financial models to support strategic decision‑making, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth objectives

  • Identify and apply opportunities for AI and automation across finance to improve forecasting accuracy, decision speed, and how insights are delivered to the business

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate financial insight into action by surfacing tradeoffs, recommending paths forward, and pushing decisions to be made when ambiguity or misalignment persists

  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and RevOps on revenue forecasting, capacity planning, and unit economics to ensure GTM plans are grounded in financial reality

  • Enhance existing financial processes and systems to streamline operations and improve data accuracy, fostering a culture of accountability and performance; implementing planning tools, systems, and processes as scale demands

Success in this role looks like better decisions across the company: clearer plans, fewer surprises, stronger alignment, and leadership confident in where and how to invest.

Location

Hybrid (2-3 days a week) out of our San Francisco HQ.

What Makes You a Great Fit

This role is best suited for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership seriously, and uses financial insight to drive real business outcomes. You don’t just analyze what’s happening β€” you push the business toward what should happen next.

You’ll be a great fit if:

  • You have 10+ years of progressive finance experience with a background in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, and/or PE

  • You’ve owned financial planning at a high‑growth company and are comfortable being accountable for keeping plans accurate as the business evolves

  • You’re comfortable taking a point of view in ambiguity β€” synthesizing messy inputs, setting assumptions, and driving alignment

  • You consistently push beyond reporting to answer the β€œso what” and influence how the business prioritizes and invests

  • You’re deeply hands‑on and builder‑minded, comfortable building models, processes, and structure from scratch

  • You partner effectively with GTM leaders, understanding how sales, marketing, and revenue dynamics translate into financial outcomes

  • You operate with ownership and bias to action, leading cross‑functional initiatives and communicating complex ideas clearly

  • Experience building and leading teams in fast‑paced startup environments

If you’re reading this thinking, β€œthat’s exactly how I operate,” we’d love to meet you.

This Role Is Not for You If

This role isn’t for everyone, and that’s intentional. It will be a great fit for the right person β€” and frustrating for the wrong one.

This role may not be for you if:

  • You prefer to focus on reporting and analysis rather than owning outcomes and driving decisions

  • You’re most comfortable staying within a clearly defined β€œlane” and don’t enjoy stepping across functional β€œlines”

  • You’re most comfortable operating with a clear playbook and well‑defined processes β€” much of this role involves building structure where it doesn’t yet exist

  • You like to provide input but are uncomfortable pushing for clarity or forcing decisions when alignment stalls

  • You’re looking for a role with a large team or formal people management from day one; this is a hands‑on, player‑coach role to start

  • You’re uncomfortable with priorities shifting as the business grows and new information emerges

Director of Manufacturing Operations
✦ New
Salary not disclosed
Ridgefield, CT 13 hours ago

LOCATION Ridgefield, CT

JOB TYPE Full-Time, On-Site

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Vibrant Building Technologies is building the next generation of home health technology β€” hardware and software designed to actively manage the environment people live in.

Our first product is an intelligent HVAC platform. We are transitioning from product development into manufacturing and building the operational foundation to produce our systems at scale. Our commitment is to American manufacturing and uncompromising product quality.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Head of Manufacturing & Test Operations to build Vibrant's manufacturing organization from the ground up. This role is full-time and on-site in Ridgefield, CT.

This is not a maintenance role inside an established factory. This is a 0 to 1 build.

You will design the production floor, implement manufacturing systems, develop testing infrastructure, and establish the quality processes that ensure every system leaving the facility performs reliably in the field. You will work directly with executive leadership to define how our products are built, tested, and delivered.

The right person is both strategic and hands-on β€” comfortable defining manufacturing architecture and stepping onto the floor to debug hardware and solve problems. Your work will directly determine Vibrant's ability to scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manufacturing System Architecture

  • Design and build Vibrant's manufacturing operations from the ground up
  • Define production line architecture, workstation layouts, and assembly flow
  • Establish SOPs, assembly instructions, and process controls
  • Implement systems for inventory, traceability, and production tracking

Production Operations

  • Own throughput, yield, and reliability across all manufacturing lines
  • Launch and stabilize new production stations and assembly processes
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks affecting cycle time and output
  • Drive continuous improvement across efficiency and cost structure

Test Infrastructure & QA

  • Design and deploy production testing infrastructure for every manufactured unit
  • Develop automated and manual test procedures to validate system performance
  • Establish root cause analysis processes for production failures and field returns
  • Partner with engineering on validation testing and product verification

Supply Chain & Component Quality

  • Manage vendor performance and component quality with supply chain leadership
  • Establish incoming quality control processes for critical components
  • Maintain feedback loops between production, suppliers, and product development

Team Building & Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and develop Vibrant's early manufacturing team
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence
  • Serve as the escalation point for all manufacturing and quality issues

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Close feedback loops between design and production with hardware, firmware, and software teams
  • Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and engineering validation cycles
  • Partner with executive leadership on scaling strategy and facility expansion

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE β€” FIRST 12 TO 18 MONTHS

  • A stable, repeatable manufacturing line running at consistent throughput
  • Production testing infrastructure validating every unit before shipment
  • QA processes that significantly reduce field failures and service escalations
  • Throughput increased without sacrificing quality
  • Operational foundation in place to scale production significantly
  • A high-ownership manufacturing team performing at a high level

YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF

  • You enjoy building systems from scratch rather than maintaining existing ones
  • You have taken a hardware product from prototype into real production and understand what scaling physical products actually requires
  • You move comfortably between strategic planning and hands-on execution β€” process design, production debugging, test fixture improvement
  • You believe great manufacturing leaders belong on the production floor
  • You are motivated by ownership and want to directly shape how a company builds and delivers its products
  • You are energized by environments where the playbook is still being written
  • You take pride in eliminating operational chaos through durable systems, not constant firefighting

You will likely thrive here if you are the type of person who looks at an empty production floor and immediately starts thinking about the systems, processes, and team required to bring it to life.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 5+ years in manufacturing, production engineering, or industrial engineering
  • Experience scaling hardware production in fast-moving environments
  • Strong technical understanding of electromechanical systems
  • Able to operate across strategy and execution β€” from system design to shop floor
  • Track record of building durable processes, not just solving immediate fires

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience at an early-stage hardware company
  • Background designing production test systems for complex hardware
  • Familiarity with HVAC or similar electromechanical products
  • Experience with MES or manufacturing analytics systems
