As an Assistant Project Manager at Elson Electric, you will support the planning and execution of commercial electrical projects while building the foundation to grow into a Project Manager. Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day coordination of assigned projects from planning through closeout.
- Review and organize construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including change orders, meeting minutes, and logs.
- Participate in client-facing meetings alongside senior team members, building relationships with business stakeholders and supporting ongoing and future project opportunities
- Support in preparing budgets, schedules, and cost tracking.
- Assist with quantity take-offs and estimating support for bids and proposals.
- Track material procurement, deliveries, and equipment to ensure project timelines are met.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients as directed.
- Assist in monitoring field progress and compliance with safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Prepare and assemble project closeout documentation.

UNICO is seeking an Area Lead - Senior Resident Engineer with experience leading local, state and federally funded transportation contracts for projects located in the Northern California Bay Area. Must have 10+ years relevant industry experience, familiar with transportation, transit or operational facilities type projects. Type of infrastructure projects include civil improvements, structural facilities, electrical and mechanical systems, underground utilities, earthwork, TOD, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
The Area Lead - Senior Resident Engineer will be responsible for successful completion of construction projects. Specific responsibilities include being an owner’s representative, attending and running client and contractor meetings, reviewing plans and specifications and ensuring compliance with documents, providing project documentation in the form of letters, RFI/Submittal responses, change orders, etc., overseeing field inspection, supervising project inspection teams, and providing technical guidance and quality assurance, maintaining project controls including cost and schedule management.
