The Role We Want You For
The Corporate Insurance Director is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and advancing Clayco’s enterprise-wide insurance and risk management strategy. This role drives the optimization of insurance programs that protect corporate assets, enable operational excellence, and support Clayco’s continued growth across complex construction projects and business operations.
The Director leads the review and negotiation of insurance provisions across Clayco’s prime contracts, ensuring alignment with corporate standards while proactively identifying and mitigating risk exposures. This leader partners closely with internal executives, legal teams, and external insurance partners to drive consistency, transparency, and continuous improvement in insurance strategy, governance, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of Clayco’s enterprise insurance programs in partnership with the Senior Vice President, Corporate Insurance.
- Oversee the analysis, negotiation, and approval of insurance provisions within prime contracts to ensure alignment with corporate risk management standards.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business unit leaders and executives on complex insurance and risk management matters.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with insurance brokers, carriers, and third-party service providers to optimize coverage, service quality, and cost efficiency.
- Identify emerging risk exposures across projects and implement strategies to mitigate financial and operational impacts.
- Analyze and manage complex general liability claims to resolve timely and mitigate risk.
- Partner with Legal, Operations, and Project Leadership teams to ensure insurance requirements support project execution and contractual compliance.
- Contribute to the development of enterprise risk management policies, procedures, and long-term insurance strategies.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in construction insurance with strong strategic and advisory capabilities. This individual demonstrates exceptional analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex contractual risk structures. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, executive communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing enterprise risk.
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Insurance, and is based in our St. Louis, Missouri office.
Requirements
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in risk management, insurance brokerage, underwriting or construction-related legal/paralegal roles
- Strong understanding of construction contract insurance requirements and key coverage lines, including:
- General Liability
- Controlled Insurance programs (OCIP/CCIP)
- Builder’s Risk
- Pollution Liability
- Professional Liability
- Experience reviewing and negotiating insurance provisions within construction contracts preferred
- Professional designations such as CRIS, ARM, and CPCU are a plus

The Role We Want You For
The Site Safety Supervisor will provide support to the Project Staff and the Clayco safety team in an effort to execute corporate safety and health standards and procedures in compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements. In addition to your project responsibilities, you shall participate in and complete all assignments designated to you. This will include, but is not limited to, assisting in development of a zero injury safety culture on each project, conducting at least weekly documented jobsite safety inspections, effectively communicate orientations for all new project workers, assist with and review subcontractor daily pre-task safety analysis, actively promote and participate in daily stretch and flex program, identify project trends and execute proactive safety initiatives to eliminate incidents, support corporate goals and initiatives, emphasize and support proactive safety such as near miss/hazard reporting, coach and recognize workers on safe work methods, report all incidents in an effective and timely manner following established protocols and be a champion in motivating workers to perform their jobs safely! Your responsibilities will be all encompassing for each project you will be dedicated to.
The Specifics of the Role
- Assist in development of the project safety program.
- Establish and conduct jobsite orientation for new project employees. Administer and record their participation in the orientation program and issue identification to those employees completing the orientation program.
- Attend all initial meetings with the project staff and subcontractor representatives to clearly define their role within the confines of the project safety program.
- Conduct and document pre-planning safety meetings with each subcontractor representatives to establish safety procedures prior to subcontractor’s activity on site.
- Field tasks solo on a project Up to $80M.
- Client interfacing.
- Assist Site Safety Manager.
- Establish and conduct regular (weekly) safety meetings with subcontractor representatives and with project staff to ensure proper compliance.
- Facilitate training for site personnel and ensure that standards are per the OSHA\Clayco and in compliance with Federal and State standards.
- Ensure and maintain a log of each subcontractor toolbox safety meeting.
- Review each subcontractor’s safety program and ensure that it meets or exceeds the project safety program requirements.
- Ensure that each subcontractor designates a safety representative that is properly trained in subcontractor’s scope of work and has the proper authority to correct safety issues.
- Conduct regular daily and weekly jobsite inspections and complete the safety checklist noting safety violations and corrective actions.
- Record, notify and prepare written report of any violations or unsafe practices to subcontractors for immediate correction actions.
- Stop at once any violation or unsafe acts or practices.
- Assist the Project Superintendent in establishing and implementing proper fire prevention, evacuation, and fire control procedures.
- Investigate all incidents and generate proper reports.
- Establish and maintain all required safety records.
- Conduct a monthly overview safety meeting and attend project staff meetings to brief on safety issues.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent.
- 0-5 years of safety experience with a working knowledge of safety/environment principles and techniques.
- 2-3 years of field experience required.
- OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation.
- OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer is a plus.
- Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work at heights, able to climb ladders, access/inspect scaffolding and roof areas.
- Noise level is usually moderate to very loud.

Physical Requirements
- Must possess the physical ability to safely navigate active construction sites. This may include but is not limited to climbing permanent and temporary stairs or ladders, using construction personnel hoists, ascending and descending ladders, and maneuvering through areas under construction. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
- Must be able to walk long distances, stand for extended periods without support, and work at various heights as required.
- Ability to access and inspect elevated areas such as scaffolding, rooftops, and other high structures.
- Possess sufficient visual acuity to perform essential job functions such as, close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to varying noise levels ranging from moderate to high, which may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and other unpredictable weather.

Specific Responsibilities:

The Store Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day retail operations of their applicable store inclusive of sales and service, team leadership and operational excellence.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and key performance indicators
- Manage store P&L by driving top line revenue and strategically managing expense budgets to meet overall profitability goals
- Implement product and visual merchandising directives and techniques to maximize space and drive sales
- Manage and communicate merchandise opportunities to District Manager/ buying team
- Analyze customer profiles, buying trends, and competitive information to impact and drive business
- Create and manage in-store events, marketing initiatives and CRM activity to drive and reward repeat business
- Support new store openings, remodels, pop-ups and special events as needed
- Communicate staffing, merchandising and operational needs to HQ team
- Manage and achieve or exceed all inventory and shrink goals; plan and execute bi-annual Physical Inventory
- Manage inventory control procedures including product receipt, transfers and returns
- Provide direction, feedback and coaching to foster collaboration and productivity
- Recruit, train and retain an exceptional team of support managers and client experience focused associates
- Train and coach team to meet and/or adhere to client service standards and company policies and procedures
- Manage store-level HR functions, including associate scheduling and timecard review / approval
- Manage and maintain store cleanliness and organization, including front of house and stock space
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications
- Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Experience with back office operations management, visual merchandising and recruitment / training
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage and mentor a team
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ability to make decisions independently, or escalate when applicable
- Ability to work non-traditional hours; weekends, evenings and holidays
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail store management
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a client services related capacity

What You Bring:
- 2+ years of outside sales, referral development, or community outreach experience in healthcare, behavioral health, education, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - you thrive on face-to-face engagement and relationship-building.

- Proficiency in utilizing CRM platforms and analyzing outreach performance data to inform strategic decisions.
- Knowledge of local healthcare systems and pediatric services is highly desirable.
