The Site Leader will provide world-class jobsite leadership for large, long-duration, high-profile orders of Vertiv power and/or thermal equipment. The Site Leader is the primary Vertiv service on-site technical representative for large jobs, from construction start, through start-up, site acceptance testing, and project completion. The Site Leader is required to establish, grow, and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, co-workers, sales representatives, and others as appropriate. The site lead is required to work in tandem with the assigned project manager to drive cost controls, schedule adherence, resource management, and ultimately a positive customer experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Role Summary:

  • Provide jobsite technical leadership for large projects.
  • Factory certified on a variety of products that interact with Liebert systems:
    • Expert working knowledge of electrical power distribution, generators, switchgear, automatic transfer switches, et al.
  • Leads an on-site team of 1-2 project leaders who may be leading crews of 1-10 technicians each.
  • Represents Vertiv at daily customer meetings and can speak to technical requirements for the day's schedule to coordinate activity with other parties on-site.
  • Leads and supports start-up and site testing activities for assigned projects:
    • Ensure sufficient manpower on-site each day to perform start-up and site testing work.
    • Assist during start-up and site testing as necessary, depending upon man-power availability and site location.
    • Provide daily status reports to service management, project management, and sales rep.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Keeps current on Vertiv equipment start-up and commissioning processes, procedures, and tools-of-the-trade.
  • Keeps current on safety bulletins, safety field change notices, field change notices, and service tips.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Leads daily Vertiv toolbox talk, pre-job safety walk and inspection, and drives any necessary corrective/preventative actions required in a timely fashion.
  • Operates in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelines.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines and accordance with job duties.
  • Adhere to work hours policy guidelines \"14 hours rule.\"
  • Report all work-related accidents or injuries within 24 hours to the appropriate personnel.
  • Must be a role model to fellow associates with regards to safety by setting a positive example.
  • Lead by example with the use of stop work authority, good catch engagement, and timely closure of necessary corrective/preventative actions.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to Vertiv warranty process in partnership with project manager.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting in accordance with published guidelines:
    • Timecards, expense reports, mileage reports, SR/task closure, forms, et al.
  • Supports project manager with obtaining any necessary technical data so project manager can maintain project systems.
  • Maintain company property according to company policies:
    • Credit cards, PPE, test equipment, laptop, smartphone, et al.

Customer Satisfaction Responsibilities:

  • Provide proper and adequate communication to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure daily alignment of customer expectations and Vertiv activity, and drive clarification/re-alignment if there appears to be misalignment of expectations.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction rates according to company guidelines.

Position Summary

The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules across both bend and non-bend areas using the Velocity Scheduling System (VSS). This role ensures efficient flow through all manufacturing processes by visually managing workflow, balancing workloads, and maintaining buffer control for bend operations.

The Scheduler plays a key role in supporting production efficiency, maximizing throughput, and achieving on-time delivery while communicating closely with all departments to maintain visibility and control over shop priorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Scheduling and Workflow Management

  • Develop, maintain, and update visual schedules for bend and non-bend operations using Velocity Scheduling principles.
  • Manage the bend buffer to regulate work release, ensuring flow stability and preventing production bottlenecks.
  • Sequence and prioritize jobs based on due dates, material availability, and shop capacity.
  • Track and monitor work-in-process (WIP) to ensure timely progression of jobs through all departments.
  • Coordinate with leads and supervisors to balance workloads and ensure resources are allocated effectively.
  • Adjust schedules proactively in response to changing priorities, materials, or customer needs.

2. Communication and Coordination

  • Serve as the primary scheduling liaison between Production, Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing.
  • Lead or participate in daily and weekly Velocity Scheduling System meetings, providing updates on flow, constraints, and buffer status.
  • Communicate schedule updates and production adjustments promptly to all affected departments.
  • Collaborate closely with bend operators, fabrication leads, and assembly teams to maintain synchronization between processes.

3. Data Tracking and Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, throughput, buffer health, and schedule adherence.
  • Maintain accuracy of schedule data in ERP/MRP systems and ensure visibility through the Velocity Scheduling Board.
  • Identify trends, delays, or process constraints and recommend adjustments for continuous flow improvement.
  • Support the Production Manager in analyzing capacity and planning for upcoming workloads.

4. Continuous Improvement

  • Use VSS tools to identify and eliminate production bottlenecks.
  • Work with team leads to evaluate and adjust buffer sizes for optimal flow.
  • Participate in lean and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scheduling efficiency and visibility.
  • Promote a culture of proactive problem solving and visual management across departments.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.

In this foundational role, you will guide customers through the purchase and construction of their new single???family home while helping shape the sales experience for our newest region.

You???ll serve as the face of Drees Homes in designated communities, building relationships, driving sales, and ensuring every buyer enjoys an exceptional home???buying journey.
