The Department of Music at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary, part-time instructors to teach a range of instruments for one-on-one and/or group instruction. Teachers of Special Programs are hired as needs arise during the fall, spring and/or summer.

The majority of Teachers Special Programs positions are part of our private instruction program. It is a directed program of study, open mostly to music majors, by audition, which includes opportunities for large and small music ensembles, and private instruction. The student's program will be worked out in consultation with the supervising faculty, who will assist in finding an appropriate private instructor. The components of the private instruction program include providing lessons in the following areas:

* Instrumental Performance

* Jazz Performance

* Vocal Performance

* Basic Voice

* Vocal Technique

* Basic Piano for intending and current music majors

* Beginning Piano for Non-Music Majors

* Advanced Beginning Piano for Non-Music Majors

Other courses Teachers Special Programs may serve:

* Chorus and/or Chamber Chorus

* Early Music Performance

* Songs and Song-Writing

* Various Musical Practices Performance - Non-Western Instruments

Further positions include instruction on non-Western instruments in our Ethnomusicology labs, such as Music of Japan, Music of East Asia, Music of the Caribbean, Music of Bali, etc.

Summer 2026 SCRM Internship | Make an Impact with Anglicotech!

We seek a motivated Summer 2026 Intern who will thrive in a challenging, rewarding, process-oriented Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) environment. This person will perform hands-on task with Anglicotech’s Supply Chain Resiliency Operations Center (SC-ROC) to gain exposure and skills in managing supply chain and logistics operations globally. The School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley is accepting applications for qualified temporary, part-time instructors to teach both during the regular academic-year year and in our Summer Minor program. Applicants will be reviewed for positions as needs arise. As a professional school, the School of Journalism is seeking practitioners to bring real-world experience to the classroom. Among the needs we generally have, we are often seeking practitioners with skills in:

- News writing and reporting, either in daily reporting or long-form narrative writing.

- Video news, including documentary filmmaking or short form video storytelling.

- Audio news, including podcasting, radio reporting, audio editing or sound design.

- Multimedia storytelling, including visual design, audience engagement, social media, emerging story forms like VR/AR, and mobile platforms.

- Data journalism, including data visualization, data coding (Python or R), spreadsheets, public records, and similar tools used for data-driven stories.

Appointments for primary instructors will be made in the Lecturer title. Time commitments vary depending on the class, but are typically one day a week of teaching for two or three hours. Candidates may also be considered for hourly appointments as Teacher-Special Programs (TSP). TSPs teach a narrow subject as part of another course, or assist courses in other ways. Our Mercy Nurse Externship is a unique hands‐on learning experience designed to help nursing students bridge the gap between the classroom and real‐world practice. This paid externship gives participants the opportunity to work approximately 36 hours per week, during a 4-week session while on school break. Nurse externs will rotate through a variety of units while learning directly at the elbow of a Mercy nurse.

Participating in a Mercy Externship will help you:

• Deepen your understanding of the nursing role within an acute care setting
• Build confidence in delivering both direct and indirect patient care in an acute care setting
• Enhance your clinical skills through dedicated preceptor time, including: IV therapy, Foley care, NG tube care, tube feeding, ostomy care, point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, specimen collection, simple dressing changes, trach care, and head‐to‐toe assessments.

You'll gain meaningful exposure to diverse patient populations, strengthen your critical‐thinking skills, and work closely with experienced nurses who are committed to supporting your professional growth and learning opportunities.

Nurse Externship Requirement: *Applicants must have completed at least 2 semesters of nursing school, including a minimum of one round of clinicals, prior to the start of the externship.

The Day Camp Nurse manages the camp health, hygiene, and general safety of campers and staff. Essential functions are to set up and close the nursing station each day, provide basic first aid treatment to campers and staff when necessary, administer medication to campers throughout the day, keep records of all medication administration and write incident reports, provide inventory of medical supplies, comply with all required documentation and act as health educator for campers and staff.

As a full time, paid Project Engineering Intern at Gits Manufacturing, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Engineering team to assist in project and design work.

• Creates &/or modifies product designs & drawings using CAD tools, product data management systems, and risk analysis tools.
• Verifies designs through engineering calculations, modeling, and/or simulations such as CFD and FEA.
• Assist in engineering tool creation and process mapping.
• Assist in technical problem solving.
