Learning and Development Specialist

This key team member, reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, will design and oversee engaging training and development programs that uplift employee skills, foster professional growth, and strengthen organizational culture.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a variety of training initiatives that reflect the organization’s values and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with HR and hiring managers to facilitate onboarding and support seamless transitions for new employees.
  • Lead sessions on management development, soft skills, regulatory compliance, and operational best practices.
  • Conduct needs assessments, gather feedback from employees and managers, and identify skill gaps to inform training strategy.
  • Build, update, and manage training materials in partnership with subject matter experts and leadership.
  • Launch and facilitate learning experiences in leadership development, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Manage and track content in e-learning platforms, ensuring accurate reporting and employee support for assigned modules.
  • Track completion rates, provide manager follow-up, and ensure programs comply with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all training activities and provide clear reporting to leadership.
  • Evaluate training impact using employee feedback, performance data, and follow-up assessments.
  • Design, update, and facilitate curriculum and training courses that embody person-centered program philosophies.
  • Utilize blended learning methods, including in-person, online, and hybrid approaches, to reach staff organization-wide.
  • Develop training manuals, job aids, and annual training calendars for ongoing staff development.
  • Coordinate and monitor structured onboarding for new hires and promotions, offering support and feedback throughout.
  • Organize, schedule, and manage logistics for all training and employee development events.
  • Conduct surveys and interviews to continually assess and address training needs.
  • Research and recommend external resources to support employee growth and continuous learning.
  • Champion organization values and foster an environment of shared purpose and staff development.
  • Collaborate with leadership to integrate people development strategies with business goals and compliance requirements.
  • Administer and analyze employee engagement surveys and provide actionable reporting to HR leadership.
  • Ensure all programming meets labor regulations and internal policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of employee development and organizational initiatives.
