Job Summary
The Unit Service Technician provides a broad range of care and services to patients, including but not limited to, EKG, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, completing EKGs, applying simple dressings, using aseptic technique and responding to medical emergency situations utilizing Heartsaver CPR and AED skills, patient transport and securing equipment and supplies under the supervision of Nursing Supervisor. They will provide safe accurate transportation of patients throughout the hospital. They will perform 1:1 sitting when necessary. The Night Float Unit Service Technician will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.

Essential Functions:
Provision of a Safe Environment:
- Utilizes proper body mechanics in moving and assisting patients to prevent personal injury.
- Assists in the application of restraints under the direction of the provider. Follows and maintains restraint policies under supervision of licensed nurse.
- Anticipates and identifies patient safety risks in cooperation with licensed nurse and take appropriate action.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the location of emergency equipment.
- Delivers back up Code Cart to area upon Code Blue announcement. Stands by in a Code Blue to assist in equipment retrieval and patient transport. Restocks back up Code carts as necessary.
- Rounds and returns loose oxygen cylinders to appropriate storage areas.
- Clears hallways of clutter.

- Interacts with patients, families and staff in a professional manner, projecting a positive public image.
- Respects and supports a culturally diverse staff and patient population.

- Delivers linen to units as requested.
- Disposing of trash, soiled linens, medical waste and disposable items, appropriately and as necessary.
- Provides assistance to co-workers, as requested.
- Is flexible and adapts to changing patient and department needs including, but not limited to, offering assistance to other team members and adjusting assignments.
Management of Information:
- Reviews and is knowledgeable of appropriate policies, procedures and work rules.
- Demonstrates an understanding of hospital emergency codes and how to call a code.
- Utilizes hospital E-mail to access staff meeting minutes, notices and memos.
- Reads and reviews meeting minutes and clinical updates.
- Participates in staff meetings and appropriate in-services.
- Maintains timely ongoing verbal communication with RN throughout the shift, regarding patient condition including, the status of completing delegated tasks. Recognizes and notifies RN immediately of any significant change in a patient's condition and/or monitoring alarms (for example: change in vital signs, change in patient's mental status, complaints of pain, abnormal blood sugar, patient fall or other injury, patient concerns with care).
- Accurately collects and records patient data (vital signs, intake and output, blood sugar, weights, restraint care/monitoring, other) and complies with hospital documentation standards to ensure a complete and accurate patient record.
Collaborative Interdisciplinary Care:
- Maintains and fosters a teamwork approach to patient care.
- Transports patients and equipment throughout the hospital as requested. Uses appropriate safety techniques and body mechanics when moving patient. Remains with the patient or ensures patient is attended by staff when off other home unit. Stretcher is cleaned after every transport with an antibacterial as provided in the department.
- Delivers specimens to laboratory as needed, following proper procedures related to the handling of specimens during transport, as requested by staff.
- Strictly practices Standard Precautions. Checks with nursing staff for specific instructions if necessary.
- Performs the transportation of the deceased to the morgue in a respectful manner. Always uses proper morgue stretcher and is accompanied by a second escort.
- Performs technical duties including EKG and phlebotomy under the supervisor of a licensed Nurse.
- Obtains lab specimens as requested by Nursing Supervisor.
- Obtains labs for in-house draws on 11p-7a shift for 1am and 4am rounds, in accordance with lab policy.
- Adheres to laboratory policy and procedure when retrieving lab specimens including the proper labeling of all specimens.
- Performs EKG's as requested by nursing/provider and obtains old EKG's in MUSE system.
- EKG's are brought to provider for immediate review upon completion.
- Assist providers with patient procedures as needed.
- Notification of need for repair of medical equipment to appropriate parties.
- Covers the switchboard operator function during breaks. Is able to appropriately perform the function including Code Blue and RRT notification.
Patient/Family Education:
- Addresses patient comfort and information needs by providing informative, non-clinical information to patients and families, orienting patients/visitors to the hospital, unit, patient room services.
- In collaboration with the licensed nurse, reinforces the patient education provided by the nurse and provides patients/families with basic patient care instruction, such as instruction for using the call light and safety requirements.
Competency:
- Complies with established practice standards, policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and regulations, (for example: DPH, JCAHO, Boston fire codes, OSHA).
- Maintains and demonstrates compliance with hospital and nursing competencies and care standards.
- Maintains competence in relation to a variety of technical skills that may include, but are not limited to, performing EKGs and blood glucose monitoring, applying simple dressings and Heartsaver CPR and AED skills.
Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for routinely cleaning of hospital floor rooms, labor & delivery rooms, nurses station, public and staff restrooms, lobby and other areas as assigned for this location to health care standards following the seven - step cleaning process. Environmental Services Aides are responsible for dusting, vacuuming/sweeping/mopping floors, wall cleaning, emptying trash, inside window cleaning, restocking supplies, learning about Infectious and Hazardous waste removal, storage and clean up. It's an important job with real impact!
Position Type
Lakewood has two full-time positions available:
- 80 hours every two weeks
- 64 hours every two weeks
These positions are located at our Main Campus from 3:00pm - 11:30pm. Some weekends and holidays are required.

Position Summary The Wellfield Drilling Operator Lead, mentors, supports and oversees daily field operations to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of the landfill well drilling operators.
This role assists in all aspects of the role including drilling, installing, maintaining, and repairing the infrastructure used to extract methane-rich gas from organic waste sites ensuring safety in all processes.
During non drilling times, the lead will be responsible for working beside the Field Construction Crew leading new installing and/or repairing infrastructure involving wells and pipelines at the landfill as well as maintaining various tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities Overseeing and assisting in installing, drilling and maintaining infrastructure.
Maintaining the Drill Rig.
Mobilizing the Drill Rig and tooling.
Organizing and maintaining inventory related to the Drill Rig.
Properly setting up and drilling vertical LFG wells and gas chimneys.
Ensuring safe and efficient drilling operations.
Completing LFG wells including installing HDPE well casing, gravel pack, and bentonite plugs.

- This is a dirty job and it is mostly outside
The Sorter/Operator handles, packages, and disposes of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in full compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations. The operator collaborates with other TSDF (Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility) operators in various site locations, including outdoor settings. Most of the waste materials for this role will be used and unused aerosol cans. Proper separation of processable and non-processable cans will be priority.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Handles, classifies, segregates, labels, and packages hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with federal and State regulations.
- Segregates chemicals by compatibility and DOT Hazard class.
- Performs consolidation of hazardous materials/waste (i/e/, bulking, repackaging) in a safe and compliant manner.
- Fosters knowledge of final disposition facility protocols.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area/station
- Sweep, shovel, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Safety First Mindset

- Assist in development and delivery of quality/food safety training
- Use ATP swabs to verify the effectiveness of cleaning and trends results to evaluate the need for procedural improvements or additional employee training
- Complete in plant daily inspections and participate in plant process and internal audits
- Ensure timely change out of trash compactors and their proper use and condition
- Work with the Operations team to perform Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective & Preventive actions
- Provide back-up in the Quality Laboratory as needed
- Assist the Quality Supervisor with any duties as requested
- Experience in a science field or a minimum of one year of experience in a food manufacturing facility or laboratory
- Demonstrated ability to understand and organize technical data for communications and analysis
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and possess good interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized
- The ideal candidate possesses certifications in HACCP/HARPC, and SQF; and training in environmental monitoring, auditing and statistical process control

What knowledge, skills and experience could you bring to the the team?
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, information systems, product design, industrial engineering or related field. May substitute educational required for equivalent relevant work experience.
- Two or more years of experience in any form of manufacturing, wholesale and distribution.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including OneDrive, Word, Excel and Outlook and experience in order management and transportation software systems.
- Understanding of the order management process and working with third-party logistics (3PL) and warehousing companies.
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented. You take personal responsibility for completing quality work within budgets and timelines.

Additional/Preferred Expertise:
- Five or more years of experience in the manufacturing and distribution of aerosols, pharmaceuticals, fragrances, agricultural-chemicals, electronics or similar regulated product.
- Dangerous Goods shipping and storage experience, skills and training (electronics, agricultural-chemicals, aerosols)
Production and Aerosol Product
- Oversee all aspects of the aerosol can production process to ensure timely, efficient production and availability of products. This will include thorough understanding of aerosol products including understanding components, points of failure, sourcing alternative components and working with Product Development Team to ensure products meets scientific efficacy, regulatory compliance and supports product marketing efforts.
- Oversee third-party suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that stringent quality control (QC) procedures and protocols are developed, implemented, and adhered to.
- Ensure that all products are delivered timely, within scope and budget using business, management, budgeting and analysis skills.
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs. Regularly report status to management.
- Develop and manage the accuracy and security of production documentation with assistance from various employees including product recipes, label production, electronic emitter programming etc.
Supply Chain and Logistics Coordinator
- Manage inventory and oversee all shipments, international and domestic.
- Coordinate directly with external customs brokers, freight forwarders and carriers to assist with the import and freight transfer of inventory into domestic warehouses and third-party manufacturers.
- Coordinate directly with third-party manufacturers to assist in imported receipt of materials, follow-up on production timeframe, facilitate successful production and final receipt of finished goods.
- Maintain an understanding of DOT rules and regulations, Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Materials compliance and assist Management with maintaining company’s employee safety program.
Sales Orders Management
- Oversee Customer Service Representative’s roles in coordinating logistics and sales order management.
- Lead and champion installation of modern order management software to reduce personnel time on orders and suit the needs of a growing business. Work with outside vendors and consultants as needed.
- Act as a back-up to the Customer Service Representative in order management, including processing orders, providing customer service and preparing/issuing invoices to customers using QuickBooks Online.
- Coordinate international sale shipments with foreign vendors and customers working with CFO and Regulatory Coordinator
