Job Summary
Under administrative direction of the Deputy Director, Administration Finance and Information Technology Services Division, the Accounting Administrator III is the Chief Accounting Officer of the department. This position plans, organizes, and manages the activities of the accounting sections. This includes management and oversight of the development of the preparation of year‑end financial statements, coordination with Department of Finance and State Controller’s Office staff, and review and adjustment of internal financial controls.
As the Chief Accounting Officer of the department, this is the primary fiscal policy and decision‑maker for the areas under its purview, including accounting and compliance review. This position is responsible for ensuring overall financial program delivery, while maintaining fiscal accountability, compliance with control agencies, stakeholder expectations, the department’s mission, and policy directives.
This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense. Beginning July 1st, 2026, it is anticipated the position will be office‑centered and employees will be expected to report to the office at least four days per week.
Minimum Requirements

Desirable Qualifications
- Experience developing, implementing, and overseeing accounting procedures and controls.
- Experience working on accounting matters with control agencies, including the State Controller’s Office and Department of Finance.
- Experience completing monthly reconciliations and reports, and year‑end financial reports.
- Experience developing strategy, monitoring results and mitigating business risks both financial and non‑financial.
- Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in managing changing priorities and competing workload.
- Knowledgeable of the state accounting process and strong FI$Cal knowledge.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Human Factors Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that medical devices are safe, intuitive, and effective for intended users by applying human factors and usability engineering principles throughout the product lifecycle. This role plans and conducts formative and summative usability studies, develops use-related risk analyses, and ensures compliance with FDA, IEC 62366, and other applicable regulatory standards. The Human Factors Engineer collaborates closely with design, clinical, regulatory, and quality teams to identify, mitigate, and validate use-related hazards, ultimately supporting safe and effective patient and clinician experiences.
This role will work to develop and follow industry best practices defining and documenting usability formative studies, qualitative assessments, summative usability studies and preparing the Human Factors engineering usability file for regulatory submission. This role will report to the Vice President of Product Design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive discovery research with mix method data collection techniques.
- Implement usability rating system and testing protocol.
- Work with marketing and clinical teams to create user personas, use specifications, and user groups based on target markets and regulatory testing requirements.
- Develop protocols for formative usability studies.
- Collaborate with recruiters, IRB, and consultants for validation studies.
- Moderate and conduct online and in person testing of usability studies, as well as focus groups, and interviews.
- Maintain detailed video documentation to follow and support note taking.
- Present findings to designers, engineers, and management team.
- Facilitate and document task analysis, use related risk analysis, and user interface specifications.

Required Qualifications:
- The candidate must be familiar with Design Controls (21 CFR Part 820 / ISO 13485) and have experience maintaining the Design History File (DHF).
- Demonstrated success working in startup, early-stage, or high-growth medical device environments.
- Proven ability to build process from the ground up and adapt them as the organization scales.
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and making sound decisions with incomplete information.

Job Description/Summary: The Respiratory Therapist at MUSC Midlands provides advanced respiratory care to patients with a variety of respiratory conditions. This role involves performing diagnostic tests, administering treatments, and working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. The Respiratory Therapist ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment and Care
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory conditions through physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and physician directives.
Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.
Monitor and adjust ventilator settings and other respiratory support devices as needed.
Diagnostic Testing
Perform pulmonary function tests to assess lung capacity and efficiency.
Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis to evaluate oxygenation and acid-base balance.
Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to identify and monitor respiratory disorders.
Emergency and Critical Care
Provide respiratory support in emergency situations, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced airway management.
Participate in the care of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), ensuring optimal respiratory function and support.
Assist in the transport of critically ill patients, maintaining stability during transfers.
Education and Training
Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques, equipment usage, and disease management.
Provide training and support to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals on respiratory care practices and procedures.
Stay current with the latest advancements in respiratory care through continuing education and professional development.
Compliance and Safety
Adhere to all MUSC Midlands policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations related to respiratory care.
Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff.
Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment.
Qualifications
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a clinical setting.
Experience in critical care or emergency care settings is preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.

SCHEDULE: This is a per diem as needed position, to help cover all shifts, including weekends and holidays. This position in not eligible for benefits.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Provides a broad range of diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services including initial assessment and ongoing medical care for emergency patients.- Works with considerable independence as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team
