Position Summary

The CNC Process Engineer is responsible for leading the standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement of CNC machining operations across multiple identical vertical machining cells. Key Responsibilities

Process Standardization & Documentation

  • Capture and formalize tribal knowledge from CNC subject matter experts into structured documentation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Create Operator-Driven Reliability (ODR) tasks to support proactive maintenance.
  • Standardize documentation across identical machining cells while identifying process exceptions.
  • Develop troubleshooting guides, flowcharts, and decision trees for rapid issue resolution.

Technical Leadership & Escalation

  • Establish clear escalation tiers for operators, skilled trades, and CNC engineers.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for advanced CNC troubleshooting.
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring or complex machining failures.
  • Improve process reliability, repeatability, and machine uptime.

Continuous Improvement & Optimization

  • Lead cycle time reduction and process stability initiatives.
  • Optimize tooling strategies including tool selection, feeds and speeds, and tool life management.
  • Address chip evacuation challenges in high-volume machining environments.
  • Collaborate with tooling vendors to design and implement custom tooling solutions.
  • Improve machining efficiency across palletized and automated systems.

Training & Development

  • Develop training materials and process documentation.
  • Deliver hands-on training to operators, skilled trades, and engineering personnel.
  • Support knowledge transfer and capability development within the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining or CNC process engineering experience.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing floor environment.

  • Train and mentor team members as needed and maintain construction equipment.
  • Provide support to field service technicians and complete required documentation promptly.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ months experience in any combination of the following areas: customer service, electrical or utility construction, or TDS Telecom Field Services internship -OR-technical certification (or higher) -OR- current military service, or prior military service with honorable discharge.
  • Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines in order to meet TDS’s business needs including but not limited to our obligations to our customers and to our customers’ needs.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and remain eligible for DOT requirements.

Other Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to obtain a Class A CDL. A current CDL is preferred at hire, but TDS will train and certify eligible associates through its in-house CDL certification program after hire.
  • Physical requirements may vary based on company needs: Ability to climb poles, ladders, towers, and other structures as needed. Ability to kneel, dig, lift, and pull.
  • Upon hire, must successfully pass all components of the Safety Training course curriculum.

You will operate the fiber fusion splicer, OTDR, and optical light testers to ensure adherence to TDS fiber splicing standards while ensuring accuracy and timely documentation of the final product for project closing. In this role, you will complete fiber splicing for projects while coordinating with OSP construction, OSP construction contractors, and internal construction teams, ensuring project timelines are met with relation to new network turnup activities.

Responsibilities:

    • Repairs buried and aerial fiber optic cables.

    • Completes all testing documentation and returns as part of project closing requirements.
  • Receives maps and staking sheets for full construction project and ensures project is spliced, tested, and documented with guidance from team mentors or leadership.
    • Communicates updates to the project team as required.
    • Takes direction on daily and weekly project work based on deadlines, material and equipment availability, weather, and other factors.
    • Coordinates with supervisor to ensure continual supply of work and availability of materials.
    • Drafts and submits redlines and splice documentation upon completion of project.
    • Sets splice enclosures and splice cases according to design, splices fiber, tests, and documents all project fiber locations as part of daily activity.
    • Regularly engages with Network Services OSP construction teams, OSP construction contractors and internal construction teams to align with daily tasks.
    • Reads construction plans and determines best approach for completing fiber splicing work.
    • Maintains all project documentation including completion of weekly as built records and daily production reports with support from.
    • Ensures DOT inspections are performed on equipment where required.
    • Works with project managers, OSP construction contractors, and internal construction teams to ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Services, cleans, maintains, and repairs equipment.
  • Completes all related paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Provides assistance to Field Services technicians as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of telecommunications inside or outside plant experience working with fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing experience -OR- 1+ year of telecommunications inside or outside plant experience working with copper or coax installation, splicing, and testing -OR- current military service or prior military service with honorable discharge.
  • Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines in order to meet TDS’s business needs, including but not limited to our obligations to our customers and to our customers’ needs.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and remain eligible for DOT requirements.

What you will do

The Role – Electrical Project Manager As Electrical Project Manager, you will take the lead on a major 220kV substation development in North Dublin, including associated grid route works on a live design and build project. This is a senior delivery role with responsibility for coordinating electrical and civil packages, managing programme performance, and ensuring the project is delivered safely and to a high technical standard.

You will play a key role in driving day to day progress on site while also managing client relationships, subcontractor performance, commercial awareness, and reporting. Key Responsibilities • Lead the delivery of a 220kV substation and grid infrastructure project from current stage through to completion and handover
• Manage all electrical works related to HV substation construction, commissioning coordination, and grid connection delivery
• Oversee the interface between civil engineering works and electrical installation packages across the full project scope
• Drive programme, sequencing, and short term planning to keep works moving safely and efficiently
• Ensure all site activities are delivered in line with health and safety standards, statutory obligations, and project requirements
• Coordinate subcontractors, direct teams, consultants, and specialist suppliers across multiple work fronts
• Maintain strong communication with clients, utility stakeholders, and design teams throughout project delivery
