The Role: Make an Impact
The Graduate Sustainability Intern will help implement Lactalis US Yogurt's (LUSY) sustainable agriculture strategy to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in alignment with science-based targets. This role will focus on measuring farm-level carbon footprints and supporting the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices that increase soil carbon sequestration and reduce emissions from enteric fermentation, manure management, feed production, and energy use. This will include collecting and analyzing data, engaging with farmers, and contributing to outreach and research efforts. This role will also offer valuable experience in sustainable agriculture and data management across LUSY and Stonyfield Organic's diverse milk supply. The Graduate Sustainability Intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Corporate Social Responsibility, Purchasing, Marketing and others to implement sustainability initiatives and will report to the Senior Manager, Sustainable Agriculture.
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Create summary & individualized result farm carbon footprinting reports for farmer facing audience.
- Support Stonyfield direct supply farms with adoption of climate smart agricultural practices across one or more strategic areas of action. This could also include conducting soil sampling to help expand the baseline data on soil carbon levels for Stonyfield direct supply farms.
- Lead projects on nature, water or workforce development, for the full Lactalis US Yogurt milk supply. This includes organic, conventional, and non-GMO milk sourced for Brown Cow, Siggi's, Green Mountain.
- Conduct literature reviews and outreach to researchers on relevant topics including efficacy of biochar, agroforestry, and feed additives to reduce enteric fermentation as pathways for reducing organic dairy farm GHG emissions.
- Assist the Lactalis US Yogurt sourcing and sustainability teams with other projects related to organic transition planning for prospective Stonyfield direct supply farms, organic training, and sustainability in other agricultural ingredient supply chains.
WORK CONDITIONS
- Travel may be required up to 25% monthly. Travel will be within the Northeast region, either using your own vehicle or a rental.

- Currently enrolled in a graduate program with a required major in agriculture, sustainability, or a related field.
- Interest or experience in responsible sourcing programs that focus on the environmental and social impacts of agricultural supply chains.
- Interest or experience in researching agricultural greenhouse gas emissions mitigation strategies.
- Experience with farm-level data collection and database management; enthusiasm for using technology to enhance agricultural sustainability and build knowledge networks.
- Farming experience or experience working directly with farmers is a plus.

The Driver, Trainee Component position learns the essential functions of the Driver job including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. What you'll do as a Trainee Component Driver:
- Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
- Operates truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
- Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
- Operates Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH), document delivery receipts/product temperatures and exceptions. Inspects trailer to ensure product is secure for undamaged transport of product.
- Rides and trains with Driver Trainer of tractor-trailer to various destinations, gaining knowledge of commercial driving regulations and observing the Driver's skill in starting engine properly, approaching intersections, making turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
- Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
- Assists the Driver in unloading trailer and delivering product into customer premises.

Overview
Tudors Biscuit World Manager Trainees participate in a five to six week paid training program that guides them through learning all of the hands on functions of each of the crew level positions and learn to successfully execute the management/leadership/administrative functions required to operate a Tudors Biscuit World location. The training will be provided in a training store geographically close to the Manager Trainees location and under the direction of a training manager. After successful completion of the training program the Manager Trainee will be placed as a store manager in a timely manner contingent upon locations available and an assessment of fit between the Manager Trainee and available locations.

Quality Assurance: Product Inspector (Produce) track:
This internship goes beyond a typical desk job, you’ll be immersed in the core of our supply chain operations. The QA (Produce) Intern plays a hands-on role in inspecting fresh produce and other perishable items to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with Wakefern standards. This position involves physically examining inbound deliveries for grade, freshness, proper labeling, and packaging integrity, as well as monitoring temperatures and verifying weights and counts. Interns will gain first-hand experience with Wakefern’s Food Safety and Quality Practices, USDA and FDA guidelines. Interns will be learning leadership skills mentored by supervisors to understand all skills required in a Quality Assurance Product Inspection department.
What you will do
- Work in a refrigerated warehouse environment.
- Inspects all inbound deliveries to ensure the purchased goods conform to all established product specifications, standards, and grade requirements.
- Performs random organoleptic inspections of inbound goods to assure the quality, grade, and wholesomeness of the product.
- Inspects all inbound deliveries for cleanliness and soundness of the transportation vehicle and the absence of cross contamination.
- Monitors product temperatures by means of physical probing of goods and observation of time and temperature recording devices.
- Verifies the weights and counts of received goods.
- Examines all packaging for proper labeling and enforces all packaging and labeling requirements of the FDA, USDA, and USDC.
- Monitors products in inventory and storage for quality and safety.
- Performs daily sanitation inspections of all applicable facilities and warehouses.
- Gathers and organizes all records and documentation to comply with all regulatory requirements.
- Monitors all control points, critical control points, and quality control points for each of the food safety and food quality plans for the applicable perishable food facilities.
- Physical demands include the ability to bend, stretch, extend, tug and pull based on inspection of various products, Ability to work in cold temperatures as low as 33 °F.
- 5 days on site - no remote work.
- Wear OSHA-Compliant Steel Toe or Composite Safety Boots when in the warehouse is required.
- Bilingual Spanish / English is a plus, but not required.
- Provide coverage for the Shift Supervisors, working any 5 of the 7-days, including weekends, holidays, vacations, and peak volume periods. Interns work 40 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits:
First year Wakefern Supply Chain/Logistic Interns will be paid at $18.00 per hour. Master Students and Returning Wakefern Supply Chain/Logistic Interns will be paid at $19.00 per hour. Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant Trainee is enrolled in a learning experience designed to develop the confidence and competence to serve as a caregiver that provides personal care to clients. This is a seasonal paid position (with internship credit opportunity) in the Safety Department. The Safety Supervisor Intern assists the Safety Manager in maintaining Safety programs and inspections that ensure a safe environment in an amusement park setting for our guests and team members. The position is available May through August and typically works 35 - 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.
