Durham Academy is an independent school in Durham, NC, with 1,267 students in grades PreK-12. Durham Academy is accepting applications for a Registered Nurse to provide healthcare services to students mainly in our Preschool and Lower School, grades PreK-4, but would also be required to respond to health concerns at the Upper School, grades 9-12, when needed. The school nurse will collaborate with the Health Director, school counselors, teachers, parents and school leaders in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of students as well as maintain health records of students.
The nurse would report directly to the Director of Student Support and Wellness. This permanent 10-month position begins August 1, 2026.
Essential Duties- Assist students, faculty and staff who become ill or injured on campus whether this be urgent, scheduled, or as needed. Including, but not limited to, conditions such as headache, fever, sore throat, musculoskeletal injury, soft tissue injury, or gastrointestinal upset.
- Monitor and respond emergently if needed to chronic medical conditions such as anaphylaxis, seizures, diabetes, asthma, or cardiac events.
- Coordinate with parents when needed for education, follow up care, or an early pick up.
- Educate faculty and staff on emergency procedures and other health topics as needed.
- Collect and maintain protected health information.
- Document all visits to the infirmary in our electronic medical record system (August Schools).
- Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, athletic trainers, parents and school leaders in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of students.
- Dispense prescribed medications and supervise treatment regimens.
- Be familiar with expectations about student behavior and discipline and follow school procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain communication with administrators, teachers and other school personnel and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action, which will meet the health and safety needs of students.
- Initiate contact with and act as a liaison between the home, school, community health agencies and private providers to enhance the health and wellness of the school community.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all school and health-related issues.
- Excellent communication skills; tact in dealing with parents, students of all ages and faculty/staff.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, set a good example and comply with school standards.
- Must be able to meet physical requirements for the school nurse.
- Must have and maintain an active nursing license to practice in North Carolina.
- B.S. degree in Nursing is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in pediatrics is preferred but not required.
- Should be willing and able to use electronic health records.

Work you'll do
Throughout the course of the seven-week internship, interns are assigned to one or more client projects where they will receive mentorship and support to help their success on the engagement. Beyond exposure to "real life" projects, the internship also delivers a variety of national and local learning and networking events. In addition, throughout the internship there are ongoing learning events such a lunch and learns, industry/service line spotlights, and regularly scheduled training offerings designed to help our interns develop technical and client service skills. The interns will understand first-hand what a career with Deloitte is like and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. Additional social activities are planned throughout the internship period to provide opportunity to network with Deloitte professionals. Interns are expected to adapt to change, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and self-confidence. Interns must be team-oriented and able to work collaboratively. Interns are expected to demonstrate leadership qualities and potential.
How you'll grow
Each intern is assigned a mentorship team, including a counselor and onboarding advisor, to help offer guidance throughout the course of the internship. The counselor, typically a manager or senior manager, offers career guidance and feedback. The onboarding advisor is a peer level "buddy" to help answer questions and offer insight into how to make the most of the internship experience. Additional mentors, both formal and informal, will be identified during the internship. These mentor relationships can carry over into the future and offer a great way to stay connected to Deloitte while back at school. There will be formal goal-setting and evaluation process throughout the internship. Depending on performance and other factors, Discovery interns may have the opportunity to receive a subsequent internship opportunity at Deloitte.
Qualifications
Required
College Sophomores or Juniors with definitive plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in a business, accounting, economics, STEM or related field. For anticipated accounting majors, you must be CPA eligible, including that you will have the required credit hours to sit for the CPA exam, upon graduation.
Strong academic performance (minimum GPA of 3.0) with extracurricular activities
Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
Preferred
GPA of 3.2
A proven history of collegiate level leadership, such as membership in a campus club or society
A proven history of collegiate community service or philanthropic activity
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Position requires individual to provide administrative assistance to the Director of Attorney Recruitment, Managers, and Coordinators.
Basic FunctionPosition requires individual to provide administrative assistance to the Director of Attorney Recruitment, Managers, and Coordinators.
Essential DutiesProvide administrative support to the recruiting team, including processing and tracking reimbursement requests, organizing receipts, reviewing applications, and assisting with general day-to-day administrative tasks.
Prepare and distribute a variety of correspondence related to the recruiting process, including offer and rejection letters. Maintain student files and required documentation, update recruiting databases, and assist with data entry.
Support interview logistics by entering and distributing interview schedules, resumes, and transcripts to interviewing attorneys.
Assist with the preparation and execution of the summer associate program, including maintaining summer associate, event, and work product files, creating nametags, and supporting event logistics.
Provide administrative support for onboarding processes, including organizing paperwork, tracking required documents, and assisting with coordination efforts.
Assist with the use and maintenance of recruiting technology platforms and systems to support and improve recruiting processes.
Other responsibilities include assisting the Director of Attorney Recruitment, Managers and Coordinators with related responsibilities.
The Recruiting Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Manager of Entry-Level Recruiting.

QualificationsKnowledge/ExperienceMinimum of Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, computer skills, excellent writing and communication skills and have the ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously under strict deadlines.
1+ years of administrative assistant experience preferred.
