Responsibilities:

• Manages and coordinates multiple IT and business solution projects whose primary stakeholders are agency executives and organizations responsible for service and product delivery (40%).
• Applies project management methodologies and enforces project standards.
• Directs the development and implementation of project planning documents (e.g., cost management plan, schedule management plan, scope management plan, quality management plan, risk management plan, communication plan, change management plan, implementation plan, procurement management plan, staffing plan).

Requirements:

• 7 years of demonstrated leadership in managing infrastructure-centric initiatives, including server migrations, end-of-life remediation, and data center consolidations.
• 5 years of infrastructure domain knowledge.
• 2 years of proficiency overseeing Azure or AWS deployments, facilitating cloud migrations, and directing Microsoft 365 service projects, including Exchange.
• 2 years of established capability managing disaster recovery efforts and related projects within hybrid and cloud environments.
• 2 years of specialized project management experience in IT/cybersecurity with an emphasis on information security, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• 2 years of proven success working within large-scale, complex, matrixed, and highly regulated organizations governed by IT policies and standards.
• 5 years of advanced proficiency in Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project management methodologies.
• 5 years of extensive experience utilizing the MS Office suite; familiarity with the Broadcom Clarity EPPM tool is considered an asset.

JOB SUMMARY: The Automation Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the factory automation workstream for our manufacturing facility in Sumter, South Carolina. This facility is in production of permanent magnets for automotive and commercial applications. This role will be responsible for ongoing implementation of technology and supporting system interfaces to automate the manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with operational objectives. The Automation Systems Engineer will work closely with operations and maintenance to ensure the design, testing, and implementation of installed automation systems performs as intended.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following.

• Manage interfaces between Manufacturing Equipment and the Execution System.
• Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of automation systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols.

• Work closely with the Plant Engineering, MES, IT, Maintenance, and Production teams to support production and facility projects that involve networking, PLCs, HMIs, and associated software.
• Collaborate with multiple Operations teams to meet current and future continuous improvement project goals.
• Reduce downtime on production equipment due to issues with the control system.
• Support network backup and device patching management process.
• Review security vulnerabilities and request appropriate remediation from respective teams.
• Lead the design and development of PLC, SCADA, and control system applications of varying complexity.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, historians, and thin client/server architectures.
• Support system integration, startup, commissioning, and qualification activities.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems and process loops.
• Strong knowledge of control networks.
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing process control systems.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned to support.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field..
• 5-10 years of proven experience in automation and project management, including managing projects with budgets exceeding $10 million USD.
• Extensive background in factory automation, with roles such as Customer Project Lead, Technical Sales Manager, Project Manager, or Group Lead.
• Strong technical engineering background in automation, controls, and/or electrical engineering.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience, such as commissioning automation lines.
• Proficient in project management software and tools, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication skills, including verbal de-escalation, presentation skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
• High resilience, quick perception, and a balance of technical and management skills
• Willingness to travel internationally

Key Responsibilities

Program & Launch Planning

• Develop and manage the comprehensive launch plan, including all operational readiness workstreams
• Translate operating plans into detailed pre-opening and launch activities
• Manage timelines, dependencies, risks, and key decisions
• Maintain clear project documentation and executive status reporting

Culinary Partner & Tenant Onboarding

• Coordinate seamless onboarding of culinary partner tenants
• Track readiness milestones including onboarding, tenant improvements, and operational setup

Operational Readiness

Coordinate planning and execution across critical launch workstreams:

• Vendor Setup: Support onboarding of vendors for procurement, including contracts, item catalogs, pricing, and delivery schedules

Construction & Build-Out Coordination

• Track tenant improvement and construction readiness milestones affecting operational launch
• Coordinate with construction and tenant teams to ensure spaces are ready for operational setup

Marketing & Launch Communications

• Collaborate with marketing teams on launch campaigns, announcements, and opening milestones
• Ensure operational readiness aligns with marketing and launch timelines

Launch Readiness & Executive Communication

• Develop and manage operational readiness checklists across all functions
• Ensure staff, partners, vendors, and systems are fully prepared for opening
• Provide structured status updates to executive leadership
• Proactively identify risks, issues, and decision points

Required Experience

• 8-10+ years of project management experience, ideally focused on hospitality, restaurant, or venue launch operations
• Proven track record opening multiple restaurants or food concepts, preferably in a multi-tenant dining environment

• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
