General Description
Performs advanced specialized technical work in the investigation and adjustment of public liability and/or Workers' Compensation claims.
Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze accident reports, property damage, and bodily injury claims to determine liability.
- Investigate Workers' Compensation and Liability claims, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing police reports and medical records.
- Negotiate claim settlements with internal leadership, legal teams, and claimants.
- Attend mediations and provide support to the County Attorney's office during the claims process.
- Authorize and coordinate medical treatment, property restoration, and other claim-related actions.
- Calculate and process indemnity and medical benefits, impairment ratings, and ensure timely payments to avoid penalties.
- Monitor work status, medical treatment, and discharge papers for accurate claim closure.
- Identify potential fraud, subrogation opportunities, and underwriting/safety risks.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state-mandated reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, internal divisions, and legal counsel on complex cases.
Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires two (2) years equivalent of higher-level education from an accredited college or university with major coursework in insurance, risk management, or closely related field.
(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)
Requires four (4) years in adjusting workers' compensation and/or bodily injury/property damage liability claims or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and LicensesPossession/retention of a Florida All-Lines Adjusters License (Type 6-20 or 7-20) from the State of Florida Division of Insurance Agent and Agency Services.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License for duration of appointment.
Preference-Associate in Risk Management - (ARM)-Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC)

SCOPE OF WORK
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
Reviews and analyzes reports of accidents including property damage and bodily injury to determine liability; reviews and analyzes Liability and/or Workers' Compensation claims and recommends appropriate action.
Consults on injury cases with various medical personnel in order to ascertain the extent and cost of treatment, loss of earning capacity and prognosis; confers with County physician on employment limitations.
Performs the calculation and payment of benefits whether indemnity and/or medical benefits, including entering all payments for benefits.
Coordinates the gathering of formal evidence by taking photographs, preparing diagrams and making measurements at accident scene; arranges for witnesses to appear at legal proceedings; and prepares accident reports.
For Workers Compensation claims the adjuster will contact the injured employee, employer, and medical provider to document the claim. For Liability claims the adjuster will contact the claimant, the division and any witnesses.
Contacts injured employee, employer, and medical provider to document claim. Conducts field investigations, face-to-face statements with employees, employer representatives and witnesses to understand the nature of the claim and gain an understanding of what occurred prior to the claim.
Negotiate claim settlements with the Director of Risk Management, the County Administrator, the County Attorney, claimants and/or their legal teams. Attend mediations with the County Attorneys office to support the claims process.
Provide advice regarding potential fraud, subrogation, and underwriting/safety risk, and communication with counsel.
Authorizes/coordinates medical treatment with walk-in facilities and specialists to update claim.
Analyze complex information from different sources, such as police reports, videos from surveillance cameras or audio, and other information to further understand the incident.
Make decisions for approvals of medical treatments and property restoration. Make determinations on liability or compensability for Workers Compensation claims. Apportion percentage of liability and negotiate settlement with claimant or claimant's attorney or Liability Claims.
Review police reports, medical treatment records, medical bills, or physical property damage to determine the extent of liability.
Investigates liability claims; inputs data into the system association with findings.
Calculates/processes timely disability benefits and impairment ratings of 1% or more when given to issue benefits to avoid penalties.
Processes outgoing letters to injured employees and medical providers and places them on notice of action taking place.
Sets up medical only claims to document/update current work status and treatment.
Monitors/obtains discharge papers for impairment ratings and issues benefits when owed and paid within mandated timeframe to avoid penalties.
Monitors work status for a disability of 7 days or less through discharge for closing a claim.
Processes employee-received notices of outstanding medical bills to resolve non-payment issues.
Reviews/corrects reporting by Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) for accuracy.
Denies/processes claims for non-work related injuries with timely electronic filing to avoid penalties.
The Workers Compensation Adjuster calculates/processes disability benefits for impairment ratings of 1% or more when issuing benefits to avoid penalties. Sets up medical claims to document/update current work status and treatment. Monitors/obtains medical records and work status to ensure timely calculation and payment of indemnity and impairment ratings, complete State EDI mandated reporting within regulated time frames to avoid penalties. For disability more than 8 days, initiates timely electronic filings to Division of Workers' Compensation.

This position is responsible for providing logistics assistance to Rite-Hite, Arbon, Independent Distributors and customers to ensure the highest quality and most cost-effective transportation services are delivered. This position supports the Corporate Logistics team in daily operations including freight quoting, freight billing, and other logistics-related functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Perform daily audit of freight charges on all inbound and outbound freight bills from all Rite-Hite shipping locations. This will include calculating and assigning a pro-rated share of gross charges where applicable
- Accurate and timely entry of job specific freight charges into Freight Pro-Rate in our ERP system
- Reconcile discrepancies with carriers and/or internal customers as required.
- Work through the Client Resolution Queue in the freight bill pay and audit portal
- Maintain integrity of related data, including administrative duties to support department effectiveness
- Provide accurate and timely freight quotations as requested through Salesforce
- Assist with various logistics functions such as tracking, tracing, and expediting as well as providing supporting documentation on request
- Other duties may be assigned
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide timely and accurate freight quotations to Arbon and Rite-Hite independent representatives
- Manage and maintain the integrity of the Freight Pro-Rate process with the focus on a zero balance at each month end.
- Perform daily audit of freight bills; both inbound and outbound, covering the previous days shipping and receiving activity at all Rite-Hite and vendor/partner facilities.
- Ensure timely and accurate Pro-Rate data entry to meet post shipment invoicing demands.
- Reconcile cost discrepancies with carriers and/or internal departments as appropriate. Perform audit related activities through freight bill pay and audit software daily.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Certificate from an accredited institution OR 2 years Logistics/Transportation experience.
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One or similar ERP systems preferred
- Experience operating in MyTranzAct or other freight bill pay and audit systems preferred
Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred

Compensation:
The first two weeks of training are paid at an hourly rate of $16.90 to $16.90 per hour, at the minimum wage rate in the location where you work. After training the hourly rate remains the same and incentive eligibility begins. This position is eligible to earn bi-weekly and monthly incentives, as well as quarterly written sales bonus. Incentive rates range from 0.25% to 30% depending on products sold and written sales volume. The quarterly written sales bonus is based on total written sales volume and is reasonably expected to range from $0 to $3,500.00 based on fiscal quarter store and individual sales performance.

Gov Agencies that provide Aviation Administration and Logistics support to US Govt. Agencies. The Agency supports a broad range of systems, consisting of thousands of individual pieces of equipment in the Facilities, Surveillance, Navigational Aids, Automation and Communications, Weather Systems and other agencies. In support of National Airspace System systems and other equipment, The Aviation Transportation Agency also provides configuration management, hardware and software documentation, modification(s), field support, systems, and acquisition support. A Driver CDL is responsible for maintaining a culture of safety and making sure every customer receives prompt and courteous service. A Driver CDL must exhibit excellent product knowledge of lumber and building materials and ensure that company processes and procedures are followed relating to product deliveries, as well as operations within the lumberyard.
In addition to driving a company owned commercial vehicle, a Driver CDL must ensure the safe and proper loading and unloading of product, be aware of job site conditions and safety, maintain accuracy of product entering and leaving the yard, and manage the safe unloading and stocking of shingles, drywall, lumber, millwork, and other products. A Driver CDL is to ensure a culture of safety, cleanliness, accountability, excellence in customer service, and accuracy of all paperwork completed and processed.

Responsibilities of Position
- Responsible for delivering products and materials to customer's jobsites using the most efficient route available while observing and obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations as well as company policies/procedures.
- Unload or assists in unloading products and materials at the customer's jobsite by using crane (boom), conveyor, piggybacks (Moffett) and/or by hand.
- Ensures that delivery schedules are met while providing friendly and professional customer service.
- Responsible for securing returning loads on the company vehicle prior to leaving the job site.
- Responsible for the completion of required paperwork pertaining to deliveries (including Delivery Waiver / Consent Form), returns, and/or transfers to ensure the accurate tracking of product and materials for inventory control management purposes.
