Wireman/Journeyman Electrician

Bacon Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electric is seeking a skilled Wireman/Journeyman Electrician responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and inspecting electrical systems in commercial, industrial and/or residential settings. You will work independently as well as with a team, ensuring code compliance, safety, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and maintain electrical systems (service panels, breakers, wiring, lighting systems, outlets, switches, transformers, generators, etc.).
• Read and interpret blueprints, building plans, electrical diagrams, and specifications to determine work procedures.
• Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit (EMT, PVC, rigid, etc.) and pull and terminate wiring using appropriate tools and methods.
• Install, repair, or replace electrical fixtures and equipment such as lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, outlets, switches, panels, and circuit breakers.
• Locate and mark electrical system layouts; cut or core openings in walls/floors as needed for routing conduit and wiring.
• Perform inspection and testing of electrical systems for continuity, voltage, resistance, grounding, and proper operation; troubleshoot and make corrections as required.
• Maintain and repair electrical infrastructure including branch circuits, feeders, service equipment, and low-voltage systems (if applicable).
• Supervise or assist apprentices or helpers as needed (depending on job site/team).
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and national electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies (including OSHA and other safety standards).
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order.
• Maintain documentation of work performed, materials used, and job progress (work orders, parts requisitions, time sheets).
• Be available for scheduled on-call, emergency repair work, or after-hours work as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active Wireman/Journeyman Electrician License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) or equivalent.
• Industry-related knowledge and experience.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Proven sales experience in business-to-consumer home services sales.

The Electrician, Maintenance performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy (Electrical Distribution System).

Essential Duties:

Position Responsibilities:

• Operate, install electrical systems and perform functional testing of building and plant equipment (e.g., machines, motor controls, room re-models)

• Lock out, tag out, try out equipment and related systems

• Perform primary and secondary testing on electrical breakers during routine maintenance; replace, update and retro fit breakers

• Run high voltage electrical cable from sub-station to unit station; cut and splice cable, test cable for resistance

• Install, replace and repair fiber optic cable for computers and computing systems

• Bend conduit and install junction boxes; pull wire of various gauge and color through conduit using a fish tape; install and connect switches and outlets

• Check work after completion or after each operation; ensure job is per drawing and WAC, NEC codes; evaluate job for work to be performed (e.g., wire size, electrical load, conduit)

• Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. tiger lift, spider lift, snorkel lift), to access work areas

• Install wire, crimp, terminate, and solder using tools (e.g., crimpers, wire cutters, soldering gun) in plant electrical systems

• Establish/verify voltage, amperage, frequency and watts using test equipment (e.g., circuit trackers, sonic circuit chasers, volt, amperage meters)

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

• Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

In this role, you will be responsible for the collaboration and interactions in the review of specific customer application(s) using electric technologies for the Low and Medium Voltage power systems for Production Enhancement Product Service Lines (PSL). You will lead the electrical design of enterprise and hyperscale data center facilities ranging from 10–300+ MW, supporting Guardian's growing data center practice across commercial, colocation, hyperscale, and government-facing programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system design for mission-critical data center facilities, from utility interconnection through rack-level power distribution
• Design medium-voltage and low-voltage power systems including 15kV–35kV distribution, primary/secondary systems, and redundant utility feeds
• Engineer UPS architectures (2N, 2N+1, distributed redundant), emergency diesel generation systems, and automatic transfer schemes
• Develop power distribution designs including switchgear specifications, transformer sizing, bus duct routing, panel schedules, and branch circuit distribution
• Perform electrical studies including load analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash analysis, protective device coordination, and harmonic distortion assessments
• Produce technical deliverables such as single-line and three-line diagrams, grounding and bonding systems, raceway routing, and lighting designs specific to data center environments
