Responsibilities and Duties
- Deliver emergency medical care to adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients in an outpatient setting
- Perform family medicine procedures such as newborn resuscitation, suturing minor lacerations, incision and drainage, orthopedic management of non-displaced fractures, arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, and paracentesis
- Manage ventilation, establish and maintain airways, and utilize various ventilation modes for up to 24 hours without pulmonary consultation
- Interpret EKGs and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues
- Diagnose and manage uncomplicated psychiatric cases in adults, children/adolescents, and geriatric patients
- Evaluate and manage common industrial-related medical problems
- Insert and manage central and arterial lines
- Respond to emergency medicine-related procedures as required
Additional Information
- Must be board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM only)
- Michigan medical license required at time of submission (IMLC not accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Prior ED experience highly preferred

OB/GYN Physician Requirements (MD/DO)
- Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (required)
- Licensure: Active Virginia medical license (or willingness to obtain) (required)
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS (required)
- NPDB: Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation (required)
- Availability: Ability to participate in weekday and weekend 24-hour call coverage
Key Responsibilities – Women’s Health, Labor & Delivery, and Gynecology
- Provide comprehensive outpatient OB/GYN care including prenatal care, well-woman exams, routine gynecology, and follow-up visits
- Provide hospital call coverage for labor and delivery, including clinical decision-making for C-sections and management of urgent OB/GYN presentations
- Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and perform/interpret NST/CST/FSE as indicated
- Review and interpret OB ultrasound studies (including Level I/screening/viability) and collaborate with experienced ultrasound technologists
- Manage routine and complicated deliveries (e.g., breech, multiples, abruptions) and support VBACs per clinical judgment
- Repair 3rd and 4th degree lacerations when required
- Perform office-based gynecologic procedures (e.g., IUD placement, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP)
- Perform surgical gynecology procedures as appropriate (open/laparoscopic diagnostic/minor and operative/major cases based on clinical need)
- Document care accurately and timely in EPCT and collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, nursing, and clinical support staff
