Position Overview

Progressive Safety is actively seeking experienced BCSP-certified Construction Safety Professionals to support large-scale data center construction projects near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. These projects support one of the largest MEP contractors in the United States and offer the opportunity to work on complex, fast-paced mission-critical construction environments.

This role is ideal for a hands-on safety leader who enjoys being active in the field while mentoring junior safety team members and partnering closely with project leadership. The Safety Professional will help drive a proactive safety culture by conducting site audits, supporting high-risk work planning, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and project safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and project safety requirements.
• Identify hazardous conditions or unsafe behaviors and work with project leadership to implement corrective actions.
• Support planning for high-risk construction activities through participation in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and safety planning meetings.
• Lead and support toolbox talks, safety orientations, and safety presentations for project teams and contractors.
• Mentor and support junior safety professionals, helping develop their field leadership and technical knowledge.
• Maintain all required site safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident reports, training records, and safety metrics.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and assist with documentation and reporting requirements.
• Partner with project leadership, subcontractors, and client representatives to promote a strong safety culture across the project.
• Provide emergency response support when required and assist with incident investigation and corrective actions.
• Utilize technology platforms such as Procore, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams to maintain project communication and safety documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience working as a safety professional in a construction environment
• BCSP Certification Required: CHST, ASP, or CSP
• OSHA 30 Construction Certification (OSHA 10 also required)
• Experience conducting site audits, safety inspections, and safety training in active construction environments
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with project leadership and safety management
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence safe work practices on site
• Proficiency with construction technology platforms and Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or large commercial construction projects
• Experience working with MEP contractors or complex trade environments
• Previous experience mentoring junior safety professionals or supporting safety teams on large projects
• Familiarity with digital safety platforms such as Procore or similar construction management systems

Work Environment

This position supports active large-scale data center construction projects requiring frequent field presence, jobsite inspections, and interaction with multiple contractors and trades. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining a proactive and solutions-focused approach to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily health and safety operations for all staff and eliminate safety and industrial hygiene-related obstacles to ensure execution of high-quality customer parts.
• Inspect facilities daily for hazards. Document inspections, audits, and behavioral safety observations regularly. Oversee prompt correction of all deficiencies.
• Serve as an advocate for corporate EHS strategy and culture building. Ensure continuous alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Support development and execution of strategy to reduce incidents, improve health and safety metrics, and create a safer work environment every day.
• Lead the First Responder Team and be the lead Emergency Coordinator in all emergencies using basic First Aid / CPR / AED training and experience.
• Lead investigation of near miss incidents, accidents, and injuries/illness in an effort to determine validity, root cause, and identify and follow through on adequate corrective action. Document fully using established processes and communicate to appropriate parties to prevent future incidents. Work in conjunction with HR to manage Worker's Compensation claims with the intention to proactively manage and minimize employee time away from work.
• Track incidents using established processes and calculate safety metrics monthly in coordination with other departments. Broadcast metrics via established formats and methods. Complete OSHA 300 log annually and post during required posting period.
• Develop, maintain, continuously improve, and enforce Health and Safety Programs (written program, training programs, and all supporting content), as needed and applicable, which may include, but are not limited to: Aerial Work Platforms, Bloodborne Pathogens, Confined Space Entry, Contractor/Vendor, Crane/Hoist, Crystalline Silica, Emergency Action/Fire Prevention, Ergonomics, Fall Protection, First Aid / CPR / AED, HAZCOM, Chemical Safety & PPE, Health & Safety Auditing, Hearing Conservation, Heat Illness Prevention, Hexavalent Chromium, Hot Work, Incident Reporting, Industrial Hygiene, Job Hazard Analysis, Lab Chemical Safety, Loto / Electrical Safety / Arc Flash, Machine Guarding, Medical Records Mgmt., Powered Industrial Truck (Forklift), Radiation Safety, Radiation Safety, Respiratory Protection
• Maintain emergency preparedness by conducting drills to ensure readiness and protection of assets.
• Maintain contractor, vendor and visitor safety including procedures and equipment. Provide support during work tasks performed by contractors including coordinating communication of impacts to Anoplate staff and the work environment and provide periodic support throughout the duration of the site work.
• Evaluate the workplace environment and develop safety management policies that identify and define safety responsibilities for all employees.
• Walk the facility floor on a regular basis to establish EHS presence and provide support.
• Support the Director of EHS with regulatory and certification inspections (e.g., OSHA, DOL).
• Complete incident reports, work with internal parties to identify corrective actions, implement corrective actions, and communicate improvements.
• Review and analyze incident reports and data for accuracy and detail, ensuring corrective actions are fully implemented and effective.
• Maintain Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) by reviewing and updating annually for all positions.
• Manage inspections of critical equipment including fire extinguishers, sprinklers, eye wash stations, emergency showers, first aid kits and equipment, hoists, lighting and other critical emergency or high-risk equipment.
• Participate and lead Safety Committee, maintain minutes, and track follow-up actions.
• Identify, develop, conduct and maintain Health and Safety Training and materials. Review training documents as needed. Act as the lead for new hire EHS training coordination and delivery. Work with Training Department to coordinate EHS training for all employees.
• Coordinate scheduled and requested air / industrial hygiene monitoring events using appropriate equipment.
• Maintains all documents related to the Safety Management System.
• Coordinating the weekend security guard schedule with the security service provider weekly. Coordinating the weekend / holiday on-call schedule for Environmental Operations, Maintenance, IT, and Leadership / Management.
• Distribute on-call list to impacted/responsible parties and provide copy for guard service each week.

Your Education & Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Training
• 4 year college education in technical field (preferably industrial safety, environmental, or other related field of study)
• HAZWOPER 24- or 40-Hour Certification
• Lock Out Tag Out
• Basic Computer Skills: Limble CMMS, Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
• Both written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to give directions and constructive feedback.
• Provide updates across 3 shifts in person and via multi-media.

Summary

Job Summary

The EHS Compliance Specialist is a critical, high-visibility role responsible for the leadership, ownership, and continuous improvement of all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. This position ensures complete compliance with OSHA, TOSHA, EPA, and internal quality standards (ISO 14001, IATF 16949 requirements) to maintain a proactive, injury-free work environment. • Owns and drives the site's EHS strategy, working collaboratively with the Plant Manager and Operations leadership.
• Creates and sustains a proactive, behavioral-based safety culture through employee engagement, recognition programs, and strong visible leadership on the plant floor.

• Conducts thorough and root-cause-focused accident and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Compliance & Management Systems

• Serves as the ISO 14001:2015 Site Representative, ensuring compliance, conducting internal audits, and driving continual improvement within the Environmental Management System.
• Manages and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements (OSHA, TOSHA, EPA).
• Maintains and updates all official documentation, including OSHA Logs (300, 300A), training records, and environmental audit reports.
• Assists in the identification, analysis, control, and elimination of occupational and environmental hazards (e.g., LOTO, machine guarding, ergonomics, chemical handling).

Workers' Compensation & HR Collaboration

• Collaborates with the Human Resources Manager to administer the Workers' Compensation program, focusing on early intervention, return-to-work protocols, and minimizing recordable incidents.
• Provides coaching and technical support to managers and supervisors to ensure consistent adherence to safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of dedicated safety experience in a high-volume manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Expert knowledge of OSHA and TOSHA General Industry Standards is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality system requirements.

Safety, Health & Environmental Manager

The Safety, Health & Environmental Manager (SHE) will provide oversight, directions, and be accountable for the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) programs for dsm-firmenich manufacturing operations in Anaheim, CA. Additionally, will be responsible for the SHE management of the overall site including offices and laboratories. They will also serve as the site's initial point of contact for safety and environmental related questions.

Your key responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting and providing process maintenance and continuous improvement for all safety programs of the Anaheim, CA location, which include hands on assistance, program implementation, training, and organization of monthly meetings and inspections.
• Ensure adherence to all management systems including, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, OSHA and FSSC 22000, with an understanding of dsm-firmenich's SHE Policies and Procedures. Responsible that these policies and procedures are implemented throughout the organization and all related activities under the position's jurisdiction. Leads site SHE-S audits and environmental programs to assure compliance and continuous improvement.
• Responsible for regulatory compliance related to hazardous materials management, hazardous waste management (both chemical and biological), wastewater, and DOT regulations (Local, State and Federal). Interfaces with regulatory agencies and authorities as appropriate.
• Records and tracks injury and safety related data to derive performance metrics for analysis of trends and reporting metrics to upper management. Shapes proposals on how to help foster positive trends while mitigating negative trends.
• Supports line management and promotes a culture of safety in manufacturing, office, and laboratory environments.
• Provides guidance and support which ensures compliance for the safe work permitting process (e.g., hot-work, lock-out tag-out try-out, work at height, ergonomics, hazardous material), including writing and issuing permits. Auditing all documents related to the permits.

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $95,000-$150,000.
