We are seeking a dedicated Material Planner / Purchaser (MRP Specialist) to join our supply chain team. This role focuses on direct materials planning and procurement (e.g., solar cells, glass, encapsulants like EVA/POE, frames, ribbons, junction boxes, etc.) using MRP logic in our ERP system. The position ensures timely material availability to support continuous production, optimal inventory levels, cost control, and supply chain resilience in the fast-evolving U.S. solar market.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute MRP runs in the ERP system based on the Master Production Schedule (MPS), customer orders, BOMs, inventory data, and production forecasts to calculate net material requirements and generate accurate purchase requisitions and production orders.
- Plan and allocate demand for critical PV raw materials (e.g., wafers/cells, glass, backsheets, encapsulants, aluminum frames, solder ribbons), accounting for specifications such as grade, color, bin, and efficiency to minimize production changeover losses.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance, maintain daily/weekly shortage reports and incoming material schedules; proactively resolve delays, quality issues, or supply disruptions to achieve Just-In-Time (JIT) or Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) delivery.
- Manage inventory parameters (safety stock, min/max levels, reorder points); track inventory turnover, identify slow-moving/obsolete risks, and recommend action plans (e.g., consumption, downgrade use, resale, or disposal) to minimize working capital and avoid stockouts.
- Prepare and present regular reports on material shortages, on-time delivery rates, inventory analysis, and supply risks; contribute material insights to cross-functional S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Production teams on returns, corrective actions, quantity variances, and supplier performance evaluations.
- Assist in supplier development, cost reduction projects, and supply chain risk mitigation to support Hounen Solar's commitment to high-quality, cost-competitive, and domestically-focused manufacturing.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Associate's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in material planning, MRP execution, or procurement follow-up in a manufacturing environment;
- Experience in the solar/PV, electronics, semiconductor, or battery industry is highly preferred (familiarity with PV materials such as silicon wafers/cells, glass, EVA/POE, frames is a strong advantage);
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, or similar) with deep knowledge of MRP logic and modules;
- Solid understanding of MRP principles (gross/net requirements, lead times, safety stock, yield/loss factors, lot sizing);
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis); experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is a plus;
- Familiarity with APS, MES, or advanced planning tools is advantageous.
Language Requirements:
- Bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) is required. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with international suppliers, read technical specifications/documents in both languages, and handle supplier correspondence in Mandarin when necessary.

Requirements:
- In depth understanding of the project life cycle, from sales to project close out
- Experience with procurement processes from supplier selection and vetting, to PO/subcontract negotiation, issuance, and acceptance
- Experience in the review, understanding, and explanation of architectural/structural drawings and technical specifications (e.g. CSI Divisions 5 and 13)
- Ability to organize and maintain complex data, drawings, legal contracts, requests for information (RFIs) and answers, and miscellaneous information through a project’s completion

Role Description
The Inside Sales Representative supports customers in the food, beverage, dairy, and pharmaceutical processing industries by providing product expertise, responsive support, and accurate order management. This role focuses on sanitary process components, hygienic equipment, CIP/COP solutions, fluid handling products, and related items used in regulated production environments. The Inside Sales Representative works closely with customers, vendors, outside sales, and operations to ensure customer satisfaction and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support & Technical Sales
- Serve as the primary internal contact for processors, OEMs, contractors, and integrators in the food & beverage industry.
- Understand customer applications such as fluid transfer, mixing, CIP/COP processing, ingredient handling, and production line workflows.
- Recommend appropriate sanitary products including:
- Pumps, valves, and flow components
- Sanitary fittings, tubing, and piping (3‑A, BPE, FDA‑compliant)
- Hoses, gaskets, clamps, and seals
- Filters, strainers, and instrumentation
- Provide technical product information, pricing, lead times, and availability.
- Generate revenue through inbound orders and proactive outbound follow‑up.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities based on customer applications and compliance requirements.
- Prepare accurate quotes and proposals for both standard items and engineered solutions.
- Track open quotes, follow up regularly, and support outside sales initiatives.
- Enter, manage, and track customer orders in the ERP system with high accuracy.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams on shipping, special handling, inventory levels, and delivery schedules.
- Troubleshoot order discrepancies, backorders, returns, and quality concerns related to sanitary processing standards.
- Work with procurement and vendors to confirm pricing, lead times, and product specifications.
- Maintain working knowledge of sanitary processing standards including:
- 3‑A Sanitary Standards
- FDA, USDA, and FSMA requirements
- Material compatibility and hygienic design principles
- Support customers by identifying compliant solutions for high‑purity or hygienic applications.
- Participate in vendor training to stay updated on new sanitary technologies and product offerings.
- Maintain accurate CRM notes, customer profiles, and activity logs.
- Support outside sales in project tracking, quoting, and sourcing specialized sanitary components.
- Assist with inventory review, cycle counts, and forecasting needs based on customer demand.
Required
- 1–3 years of inside sales or customer service experience in distribution, industrial supply, sanitary processing, or related fields.
- Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
- Ability to read basic mechanical or process specifications (a plus).
- Proficiency with ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
