Serving as the global leader for appliance quality strategy, this position oversees mechanical, electrical, electronic, thermal, and software-related quality throughout the full product lifecycle - from concept development through field performance - across refrigeration, cooking, ventilation, and dishwashing product categories.

Responsibilities:

Quality Strategy & Governance

  • Define and deploy a global quality strategy for major appliances aligned with brand, safety, cost, and reliability objectives.
  • Establish standardized quality policies, procedures, and KPIs across all regions and platforms.
  • Act as executive escalation owner for product safety incidents, regulatory actions, recalls, and field campaigns.
  • Lead management reviews and risk assessments at executive level.

Quality Management Systems & Regulatory Compliance

  • Own and govern the group QMS aligned appliance-specific requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, CE, NOM, DOE energy efficiency, EPA refrigerant regulations, and regional safety standards.
  • Lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits, as needed.
  • Ensure effective CAPA systems and sustained corrective actions.

Product Development & Design Quality

  • Partner with R&D to embed design-for-quality, design-for-reliability, and design-for-compliance.
  • Govern DFMEA, DVP&R, reliability testing, HALT/HASS, and validation plans.
  • Ensure robust design transfer and quality gates from concept through SOP.
  • Approve product and engineering changes impacting safety, performance, or compliance.

Manufacturing & Process Quality

  • Standardize quality processes across major appliance assembly lines, including:

  • SPC and process capability for key operations
  • Functional, safety, and end-of-line testing

Customer Quality, Field Performance & Warranty

  • Own customer quality metrics including warranty claims, field failures, service call rates, and repeat repairs.
  • Partner with Service, Field Operations, and Retail partners to analyze failure trends.
  • Lead structured root cause analysis and corrective actions for systemic issues.
  • Drive continuous reduction of warranty cost and field campaigns.

Cost of Poor Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and manage Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) across plants and suppliers.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, returns, and warranty expense.
  • Deploy Lean Six Sigma and reliability engineering methodologies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related)
  • 12+ years of quality leadership in major appliance or durable consumer goods manufacturing

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential

Daily Reconciliations

Review transactions for DAFs and charitable entities including GS DAF GSG, to ensure the accuracy of the Charities' books and records versus custodian records. Then liaise with Trading teams to remediate any differences.

Cash Management

Perform cash controls and monitor bank accounts for potentially fraudulent activity. Review, process, and report on Charities' expenses and budgets. Receive, review, and process third-party vendor invoices in partnership with Accounts Payable.

Daily Reporting

Generate daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports; run and analyze KRI / KPI metrics relating to team health.

Senior / Regulatory Reporting

Prepare components of regulatory reporting and tax filings for the Charities, including Form 990, Form 8282, FBAR, and other required reports. Assist in the preparation of financial statements for the Charities, including statements such as changes in net assets, net assets, and investment-related disclosures.

Process Improvement

Review existing team processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation or streamlining. Document requirements and partner with Engineering and Business Intelligence to implement operational efficiencies. Review, update, and create procedures for the Finance and Accounting area within Charitable Services.

  • Review and approve pending client requests to ensure proper authorizations and supporting documentation are in place and meet policy requirements.

Job Summary

The Otte group ( ) at the School of Physics and the Center for Relativistic Astrophysics (CRA) at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral position to work on the Trinity Neutrino Observatory, a next-generation experiment designed to detect ultra-high-energy neutrinos using air-shower imaging telescopes.

Trinity targets earth-skimming tau neutrinos above ~1 PeV through imaging of upward-going air showers near the horizon. The first phase of the project, the Trinity Demonstrator, is ongoing and has been in its physics data-taking phase for over a year, providing a timely opportunity to lead analyses while helping define the next stage of the experiment.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

We seek a highly motivated candidate to play a central role in advancing Trinity's analysis and simulation program. The successful candidate will:

Lead the Monte Carlo simulation framework and analysis software development.

Lead analyses of Demonstrator data and drive publication efforts.

Help define the science reach, sensitivity projections, and performance requirements of Trinity One.

In addition, the candidate is expected to develop a strong and visible research program that connects Trinity's neutrino observations with the broader multi-messenger landscape, including gamma-ray, gravitational-wave, and cosmic-ray observatories.



Required Qualifications

Applicants must have:

  • A Ph.D. in Astroparticle Physics, High-Energy Physics, Astrophysics, or a closely related field.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Substantial experience in simulation and data analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a collaborative research environment.

  • Experience with air-shower simulations, neutrino physics, statistical inference, detector modeling, or large-scale computing frameworks is highly desirable.
