The APRN/Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive primary health care including health promotion and disease prevention activities for patients. The incumbent provides specialized care in collaboration with department physicians and refers patients to consultants for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment procedures as appropriate.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and have successfully completed an approved nurse practitioner program.
- Possess valid State of Connecticut licensure
- Have or be eligible to obtain DEA and state narcotic registration
- Have a deep knowledge of nursing theory and practice or physician assistant theory and practice coupled with a record of providing high quality, comprehensive, professional clinical care to patients according to established standards, protocols and practices.
- Possess the ability to provide cultural competent care to a diverse patient population in a collaborative environment.
- Have skill taking medical history, assessing medical conditions and interpreting findings.
- Have a track record of proven success communicating effectively with patients, peers, and other stakeholders both orally and in writing.
- Have demonstrated ability to maintain timely, thorough and accurate written clinical documentation
- Be able to make evidence-based clinical decisions and comply with department and organizational quality measures
- Be comfortable using electronic health record and other computer systems

Southwest Care Center is currently seeking a full-time Physician. May be Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Position Details:
Examine and diagnose patients, order appropriate diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications.
Develop and manage treatment plans for patients, including preventive care and health maintenance.
Educate patients and families about health issues, disease prevention, and medical treatments.
Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare professionals as needed.
Communicate with other healthcare providers to coordinate quality patient care.
Keep detailed medical records and document patient care activities as required by Southwest Care Center policy.
Provide leadership to clinic staff through education and outreach, participating in quality assurance initiatives, supporting training of new team members, supervising patient care provided by provider assigned staff.
Actively involved in planning and evaluation of primary medical care and service programs including policy development, recommends changes in the program or services.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by participating in continuing education or seminars related to job responsibilities.

Practice Highlights:
Monday - Friday 8-5 typical schedule with 32 hours of scheduled patient care and 8 hours of administrative time per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Areas of focus include Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, worker’s compensation, and clinical compliance. The Advisory Group is currently accepting applications for a Certified Coding Auditor to work in its New York office or remotely.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Perform remote billing and coding audits to ensure client coding practices are compliant with regulations and coverage policies for both government and commercial payers.
Researching state and payer regulations to identify areas of risk in a variety of healthcare settings and specialties, coordinating with various team members to ensure clear expectations are communicated and deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
CPC/CCS-P with a minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare coding/auditing (E&M, CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10), with knowledge of professional billing, coding, and documentation practices performed by physicians and other qualified healthcare providers in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Proficiency in evaluating how well clinical documentation supports medical necessity and the E/M, CPT, and HCPCS codes that were billed, across a wide range of services. The focus will be in the primary care sector (fee-for-service and risk-based), though experience in specialties such as dermatology, vascular, podiatry, wound care, home health, and personal care is preferred. Behavioral health experience is also a plus.
Proven ability to identify billing and coding issues including use of modifiers, bundling issues, CCI edits, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, supplies, materials, injections, drugs, and units of service etc.
Solid understanding of both federal and state coding and documentation laws and regulations, applicable fraud statutes and regulations, and of federal guidelines on recoupments and other anti-FWA activity. Identify and access risk of repayment or recoupment in the event of payor scrutiny.
Familiarity with both UB-04 and CMS 1500 claims data, as well as understanding of payor remittances.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology necessary to appropriately review assignment and documentation of diagnosis codes.
Solid working knowledge of various EHR/EMR systems; experience accessing these remotely.
Strong organizational skills and task management
