Job Summary:

As a Dining Server, you will be able to create a warm and welcoming environment for our residents every time they join us for a meal.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Creating an enjoyable dining experience for residents and their guests.
- Be familiar with menu, including key ingredients and preparation methods.
- Set and reset tables quickly and accurately according to meal requirements.
- Bus tables between courses and load and unload tray in organized way to expedite tasks.
- Must be 14 years of age

A Brief Overview

The Clinical Dietitian will display effective nutrition care, apply critical thinking skills and provide effective communication and education skills in daily practice.

Reporting to the Dahms Clinical Research Unit Director of Research Bionutrition, this position supports the bionutrition division of the Dahms Clinical Research Center (DCRU), a core within University Hospitals Clinical Research Unit. The DCRU has been a unit in UH for over 60 years.

* Duties include research protocol review of nutrition needs requested, preparation and implementation of nutrition related services, data analysis, quality control of data, and data collection

* Data collection includes (but not limited to): dietary assessment, 24-hour dietary recall, menu development, diet preparation, food procurement, meal distribution, body composition assessment (including dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry equipment -DXA), lifestyle intervention, dietary counseling.

* In addition, this position requires critical thinking, excellent communication skills, efficient at time management, able to manage multiple research protocols at different stages of the research timeline, and an aptitude for problem solving.

* General X-Ray Machine Operators (GXMO) license within the first 90 days in order to operate DXA (DCRU will arrange).

* ServSafe certification within the first 90 days (DCRU will arrange)

Education

Work Experience

* 3+ years Working as a clinical dietitian in a health care facility (may include Supervised Practice Program) (Preferred)

* Completion of an ACEND accredited Supervised Practice Program. (Required proficiency)
* Competent skills to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) & apply the nutrition care process to patient care. (Required proficiency)

Position Summary

The Back Server serves food and beverage and follows up with guests in a timely and professional manner according to established standards. This position requires in-depth knowledge of the menu. This position reports to the Restaurant Manager.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities

  • Use suggestive selling technique for food and beverage
  • Attend daily pre-meal tasting and pre-shift meeting
  • Ensure friendly greeting to all guests and take orders, serve food and beverage requests promptly
  • Check with guest during meal for guest satisfaction
  • Responsible for guest check and proper payment
  • Assist in clearing and set-up of tables before, during and after service
  • Make manager aware of all guest comments and complaints
  • Is familiar with Colorado liquor laws does not serve intoxicated guests or minors
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 1 year experience working in a restaurant

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Familiarity with Forbes 5-Star standards and procedures
  • Proficiency in communicating clearly both verbally and in writing to team members and customers
  • Basic knowledge of wine, food and cooking methods
  • Understanding on how to assist customers and meet their needs effectively
  • Ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve team goals
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in processes, customer flow, environments, and tasks
  • Ability to engage with customers in a positive and helpful manner

Additional Information

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)

What you will be doing:

• Lead daily operations
