Store Management serves a broad range of functions, including but not limited to leading all aspects of operation, to include the customer service, cost management, and other training functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take essential responsibility for the business performance of their respective stores;
- Ensure sales profitability through service excellence and lean operation;
- Prepare periodic report, to include sales control, employee scheduling, etc.;
- Organize and supervise the employee shifts;
- Participate in management and personnel meetings;
- Check stock levels and order supplies and materials;
- Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health & safety;
- Store associates will be expected to cross train in each department including: Bread, Cake, POS, Bar.
- Additional duties at store when circumstances dictate.
Qualifications:
- Associate/Bachelor degree preferred;
- Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in fast food or other related food operations, at leadership level position;
- Strong organizational, communications and leadership skills;
- Ability to multitask and work with tight deadline to meet new or changing demands;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel;
- Good attendance and available to work overtime when needed;
- Excellent work ethic and teamwork concepts;
- Adapt and demonstrate thorough understanding of the 85C concept;
- Available to work on weekends and holidays.
This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting. This position requires nearly continuous standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures of coolers and freezers. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Portland, ME. The Food and Beverage Manager will oversee daily operations of food and beverage services at The Press Hotel, including Union Restaurant and the Inkwell lobby bar. Key responsibilities include managing service quality, leading and training staff, developing and maintaining budgets, and ensuring an exceptional guest dining experience. The successful candidate will work closely with kitchen staff and suppliers to maintain high-quality, sustainable food and beverage offerings.
- Strong skills in Food Service and Food & Beverage management
- Demonstrated ability in Customer Service and team Training
- Experience with Budgeting and cost management to maintain financial objectives
- Clear communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with sustainable and locally sourced food practices is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field is preferred
- Previous experience in food and beverage leadership roles is highly desirable

Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Proof of valid driver’s license
- Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. and stand for 8 plus hrs.
- 2 or more years of management experience, preferably in the restaurant industry managing a team of 15 or more employees at a time, interacting frequently with customers, and coaching employees to assume increasingly challenging roles
- Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays, as well as work weeks that may at times exceed 40 hours
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills; able to easily interact with diverse employees, bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
