Overview: The Packaging Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations by performing setups and maintenance tasks on assigned production lines. This position requires in-depth knowledge of each component in a bottle packaging line, the correct setup, connection between components, and efficient completion of changeovers. The ideal candidate can operate multiple machines simultaneously and perform maintenance on various equipment within the bottle packaging area, including bottle unscramblers, tablet counters, cappers, labelers, and case packers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform moderate to complex adjustments, maintenance, and repairs on packaging and pneumatic equipment.
- Conduct machine changeovers, troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical systems, and make appropriate repairs.
- Execute daily preventative maintenance on packaging equipment, conveyors, compressors, and assist with equipment installations.
- Complete work orders for machinery repairs, interpret equipment manuals, diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust equipment.
- Utilize hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in daily tasks.
- Set up full line configurations independently, identifying and reporting any faulty operations or defective materials.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, cGMPs, ethical practices, and SOPs, completing documentation such as operation logs and batch records accurately.
- Perform quality inspections during operations, adhering to product quality standards, and execute all required sampling and testing.
- Train and guide Packaging Operators in safe and effective machine operation, including breakdown and sanitation tasks.
- Adhere to proper gowning and hygiene as per SOPs and cGMPs, promoting a safe work environment by following all safety protocols.
- Support other mechanical or maintenance needs as required and maintain regular, punctual attendance with flexibility for extended hours and occasional weekend overtime.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance of bottle packaging lines, including troubleshooting, repairs, setup, and disassembly.
- 2+ years of experience in nutraceutical, supplement, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing in a maintenance mechanic role for bottle packaging lines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and work orders.
- Proficient in using measuring equipment like micrometers, calipers, scales, and Volt/Ohm Meters.
- Familiarity with cGMP and OSHA standards; strong mechanical aptitude for machine repair and troubleshooting.
- Basic English reading and writing skills, with PLC knowledge being an added advantage.
- General proficiency with PCs.

POSITION SUMMARY: A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers. In addition, a Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with the Company’s safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all Company, state and federal regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle, and completes vehicle condition reports (“VCRs”) on a daily basis to ensure that any vehicle defects are repaired in a timely manner.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
- Safely operate his or her heavy truck along his or her designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.
- Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
- Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures.
- Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
- Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.
- Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body (where appropriate) on each disposal trip.
- Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports, as required.
- Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Description Under supervision machine operators will ensure the safe, efficient operation of various production and sterilization equipment to meet quality and output standards.
Work with a team to maintain high product quality.
Major Responsibilites: Machine Operation & Maintenance: Operate, monitor, and set up various production and packaging equipment safely.
Perform minor maintenance and repairs; address equipment issues and involve maintenance when necessary.
Quality Control: Verify correct inserts, labels, and pouches for each lot.
Check product output for quality and accuracy; adjust processes to maintain high quality.
Document machine attributes and parameters on required forms and logs.
Packaging & Handling: Weigh products before packaging; operate equipment to process and package materials.
Load and transport finished products; seal and verify packaging integrity Additional Responsibilities: Communicate with packers on the line status and new jobs.
Fill out requisition forms for shortages and scrap components; complete scrap reports.
Assist in maintaining proper line clearance; perform backup duties and other projects as assigned Maintain a clean and safe work area; ensure orderly housekeeping.
Complete regular cleaning of equipment and production areas.

Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Central Planner based in Buffalo, NY.
As a Central Planner, you will be responsible for the short & mid-term capacity, inventory levels and transportation requirements of assigned product line(s) or replenishment management with the objective of maintaining established finished goods level, meeting customer service goals and efficiently utilizing manufacturing resources.
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Analyze and prepare reports on plant capacity utilization by product lines.
- Understand KPI (Key Performance Indicators) related to the position, the planning department, and cross functional impacts for best decision for the company.
- Conduct inventory simulations to determine optimal safety stock and inventory levels based on demand and shelf-life constraints.
- Analyze risks of dumps and downgrades and act with CS to minimize or mitigate negative impact.
- Identify problematic SKUs (efficiency, waste risk, volume, labor, etc.) for discontinuation/rationalization.
- Provide finished goods requirements to plant schedulers, monitor production schedules and initiate corrective actions.
- Plan and enter interplant shipment orders for assigned products and/or DCs within inventory standards and lead times.
- Communicate logistics requirements for interplant movement to ensure equipment availability.
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Transportation Planners on inventory plan changes impacting delivery commitments.
- Regularly communicate with Demand Planners to identify FC challenges and production bottlenecks.
- Analyze and manage aging reports and 8-day-to-expire reports to mitigate waste risk.
- Utilize FuturMaster for proper inventory planning.
- Provide meeting recaps and enforce accountability for action items.
- Facilitate monthly/weekly meetings with strategic cross-functional teams (internal & co-packers).
- Coordinate with distribution centers and sales to minimize product loss due to aging.
- Coordinate meetings with Manufacturing to ensure transparency and production efficiencies.
- Prepare and distribute reports on activity and performance metrics.
- Cross-train with other Central Planners and provide backup support during absences.
- Work directly with Supply Planning Manager on projects and process improvements.
- Visit manufacturing sites to understand processes and build relationships.
- Provide training to new or associate supply planners.
Requirements

Education
- Associate degree or higher preferred; ideally a bachelor's degree or combination of education and industry experience.
Experience
- 1+ years planning experience preferred or combination of transferrable education and experience.
- Experience in food industry, supply chain, or financial analysis preferred.
Certifications and specific knowledge
- Ability to learn and use FuturMaster, Stratum, and AS/400.
- APICS or CPIM certification or similar knowledge is beneficial.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong communication skills (oral & electronic) for cross-functional collaboration.
