Summary of the position:


The Field Service Manager’s core responsibility is to the HAC customer experience as well as training and developing the organization’s field service technicians. The role includes managing a team of service technicians, guidance and support for the HAC technician advancement program, technician follow up calls, in person training on all systems, customer in person visits and assists on the direct contact for maintaining the customer relationships. This position works in cooperation with the Service Operations Manager in implementing and managing the HAC’s service procedures. The candidate should exhibit dynamic leadership and communication skills with an emphasis on team building and customer engagement.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • High Level Business Objectives:
  • Work with Service Operations Manager to develop a market strategy aimed toward account retention and services growth in the region.
  • Coordinate with General Manager on select activities/initiatives to improve the customer experience and improve store profitability.
  • Develop a team of highly knowledgeable and motivated Service Technicians and assist in them achieving their personal and professional goals.
  • Provide training and billable service work as required
  • Services Leadership:
  • Work with Service Operations Manager to facilitate a plan to always provide reliable 24-hour emergency service support for our customer base.
  • Identify potential service technician candidates and work with HR to bring them to the company to enhance the team and meet the objectives of the company.
  • Assess performance of service technicians.
  • Ensure that all service technicians are trained and receive certifications in all relevant aspects of industrial equipment repair and maintenance commensurate with their tenure with the company.
  • Ensure all service personnel have a working knowledge of all computer programs supplied them by the company to fulfill the responsibilities assigned to them.
  • Maintain technician staffing at appropriate levels for business requirements.
  • Ensure warranty work is completed in accordance with manufacturer flat rate guidelines while assisting the warranty coordinator in providing required documentation for efficient claims processing.
  • Responsible for professionalism of service technicians, cleanliness of trucks, providing and maintaining the fleet of specialized tools, and maintaining a relationship with our uniform supplier in cooperation with the Director of Operations in keeping with the Hitachi/Sullair brand.

  • Work with EHS Manager to ensure compliance of EH&S policies in accordance with organizational and local requirements.

  • Attend training with the Sullair factory to stay current on product offerings and technologies.

Education:

As a Material Handler, you are a vital part vital part of our team! In this position, you will be responsible for receiving raw materials, supplying production with raw materials, performing cycle counts, maintaining orderly warehouse and operating power industrial equipment (training provided).

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality, as applicable and defined in plant and department procedures.
  • Stage or deliver raw materials needed for all production lines on a daily basis including cups, lids, fruit, and cardboard.
  • Work with other Material Handlers and filler operators to ensure materials needed are staged in a timely fashion.
  • Receive in-coming raw materials and supplies.
  • Use handheld device receive and transfer inventory items in and out of warehouse stock.
  • Facilitate raw material cycle counts and assist in reconciling inventory to aid Procurement in the release of purchase orders.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of all dry goods warehouse.
  • Check for shortages and reject damaged goods on incoming freight deliveries.
  • Build various raw material orders to be shipped to co-packers.
  • Keep recycling area presentable at all times and accurately complete the proper waste tracking forms.
  • Unload collected recyclable material into balers and other dedicated recycling bins.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drives a rear-load, split body, Curotto, or automated-side load truck along designated routes to collect waste and take to post-collection facilities.

• As route conditions require, driver will assist helper(s) in loading solid waste into truck hopper.

• Utilize helpers while backing up according to Company policy.

• Ensures company employees and third-party helpers adhere to Company policies, procedures, safety compliance and quality standards, while on designated route.

• Operates mechanical packer to load and compact trash from hopper into the truck body.

• Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections; completes and submits the vehicle condition report at the end of the shift.

• Courteously interacts with customers and/or the general public along the route to answer questions or respond to requests; notify supervisor of issues requiring management action.

• Cleans waste from the packer blade and truck body on each landfill and/or transfer station run; this ensures that equipment operations will continue safely and productively.

• Maintains and submits a DOT logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report (post-trip inspection sheet) as required by law or company policy.

• Maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back up.

• Uses a key map and GPS to locate service addresses.

• Follows safe operating practices, including lock out/tag out procedures to ensure proper operation of the truck.

• Monitors operations to detect loose debris, using mirrors or direct sight and/or listening for debris falling onto truck during dumping operation; visually scans customer site before and after dumping.

• Adherence to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations and standards.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.

• Possess valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Minimum one (1) years of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate.

• Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards.

• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Physical/Mental Demands:

Key Responsibilities


1. Equipment Operation, Support & Troubleshooting

  • Perform hands‑on mechanical support for Make/Pack and Primary equipment, including makers, packers, conveyors, feeders, conditioning equipment, and processing systems.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and apply corrective actions consistent with expectations described for packing/mechanical roles.
  • Perform changeovers, adjustments, and set‑ups required for test runs, product development trials, and daily operational needs.
  • Support equipment evaluations, test plans, and OEM‑related technical meetings as needed.


2. Production Support for Make/Pack & Primary

  • Support execution of production requests within Pilot and Semiworks environments
  • Assist operations personnel during prototype builds, product development cycles, and limited‑run manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Systems, safety requirements, and regulatory expectations.


3. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process inefficiencies, equipment constraints, and improvement opportunities.
  • Work with engineers, technicians, and product developers to optimize processes in both Make/Pack and Primary workstreams.
  • Contribute to performance data collection, interpretation, and improvement recommendations.


4. Documentation, Training & Knowledge Transfer

  • Support development or updating of operational and training documentation, consistent with the documentation needs outlined for Training Development.
  • Assist in capturing best practices, changeover procedures, equipment settings, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide feedback to training and production support teams to maintain accurate SOPs, training manuals, and operator aids.


5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Primary Workstream teams to support new product launches and operational scaling.
  • Engage with engineering, maintenance, quality, and product development to ensure cohesive operational alignment.
  • Top Must Have Requirements:10+ Years of Experience
  • Experience in Make, Pack, Primary, or similar tobacco/consumer‑goods processing environments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to troubleshoot production equipment.
  • Ability to work onsite in Semiworks or ACL environments.
  • Experience assisting with documentation or technical communication.
  • Must follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.


Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in Pilot Plant or semi‑commercial production environments.
  • Familiarity with QMS, change control, and safety practices.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of maker/packer machinery, Primary processing systems, or Semiworks operations.
