We’re searching for a Process Engineer | Automation Support who thrives at the intersection of engineering design and hands-on manufacturing. This role is built for someone who doesn’t just design solutions; they build, test, refine, and improve them on the production floor. The Process Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing efficiency through automation, fixture design, and hands-on process optimization. This role supports production by designing, building, and implementing practical automation solutions that increase throughput, improve repeatability, and reduce manual labor.


This is a highly collaborative, on-site role that blends mechanical design, CAD/CAM programming, fabrication, robotics support, PLC troubleshooting, and 3D printing into real-world manufacturing impact.


What You’ll Do:

  • Design automation fixtures, tooling, and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings
  • Program and support CNC machining operations using Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software
  • Utilize 3D printing to develop functional fixtures and tooling solutions
  • Collaborate with machinists, fabricators, and production teams to ensure manufacturable, cost-effective designs
  • Participate in hands-on fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing of automation solutions
  • Manage small to mid-sized projects from concept through implementation
  • Identify and execute process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve product consistency
  • Troubleshoot and support robotics and PLC-controlled equipment

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or automation support
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software
  • Experience with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM platforms
  • Hands-on experience with CNC mills, CNC routers, and 3D printing equipment
  • Ability to work effectively in a production-floor environment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and project management skills

As demand grows for our award-winning outdoor furniture made from recycled plastics, our peak season continues to expand. That's why we're welcoming up to 40 Customer Experience Specialists to support customers who love our products as much as we do.

About the Role

At POLYWOOD, our Customer Experience team does more than answer questions. They build trust, solve real problems, and create meaningful moments for customers who love our brand. As we prepare for interviews in early January with start dates at the end of the month, we're excited to welcome new team members who thrive on connection, clarity, and service that feels human.

This role is part of our Interval Flexpath program, offering full-time hours during peak season and built-in time off during the off-season, making it a perfect blend of stability, balance, and meaningful work.

The Work You'll Love Doing

  • Deliver exceptional customer care over the phone, email and chat
  • Communicate with clarity, empathy, and efficiency to support customers' needs
  • Share product information, availability, pricing, and thoughtful recommendations
  • Process orders, returns, exchanges, and warranty claims with accuracy
  • Resolve concerns and elevate the customer experience with every interaction
  • Collaborate closely with teammates and internal departments to ensure seamless follow-through
