Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient/resident care for stable and predictable patients/residents of all ages in the home care setting. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the patient/resident in the relevant setting and possesses the ability to perform testing to assess data reflective of the patient's/resident's status and to interpret appropriately the information needed to identify each patient's/resident's requirements relative to the age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in the home care setting. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients/residents.

Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing to provide patient/resident care and treatment. Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients/residents. Knowledge of patient/resident education principles to develop a self-care program. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe environment, specific to the home setting.

Skill in administering a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Skill in documenting and maintaining records. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients/residents, health care providers, and the public. Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions. Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.

One year of professional nursing experience preferred.

Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Depending on location, a valid drivers license may be required.

The primary role of the Home Infusion Nurse is to provide clinical care and education to home-based patients receiving a wide range of parenteral medications dispensed from Optum Infusion Pharmacy (the "Company"). The most common route of administration is intravenous, however medications may also be given via subcutaneous infusion or injection, intramuscular injection, or intraspinal (intrathecal and epidural) infusion. Service delivery takes place in patient homes and also in ambulatory infusion suites, where available. All infusion services and medication delivery is provided in accordance with Optum Infusion Pharmacy policies, procedures and therapy-specific protocols, and based on comprehensive orders received from a physician or licensed practitioner. The Home Infusion Nurse fills an integral role in the clinical operations of the organization, working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team needed to prepare, deliver and seek reimbursement for the infusion therapy that is safely and effectively administered to each patient.

Schedule for this position will be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10am-8pm. This is a heavy travel position, mileage is reimbursed and drive time is part of the schedule. Patient population includes both adult and pediatric patients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain positive clinical rapport with patients and their families, working closely with them in the provision of infusion therapy, education related to self-care and self-administration, and clinical monitoring of patient response to therapy
  • Assess patient appropriateness for home infusion therapy, including safety of the home environment, availability of caregiver support, and willingness of patient and/or caregivers to become as independent in therapy administration and monitoring of response to therapy as possible
  • Obtain and document patient's medical history at the start of care and ongoing, particularly as related to the diagnosis being treated with the prescribed infusion therapy
  • Complete all required clinical documentation thoroughly and timely, including nursing plans of care (POC), plans of treatment (POT), visit notes, clinical summaries, medication profiles, discharge summaries and any updates provided to members of the patient's care team, as well as obtaining patient and/or caregiver signatures on relevant consents and required forms
  • Participate in case conferences as needed to comprehensively plan patient care with the multi-disciplinary care team
  • Provide skilled care to patients of varying ages and medical conditions, as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with physician orders and the plan of treatment
  • Establish, secure and maintain vascular access devices as prescribed, including (but not limited to) peripheral IV (PIV) placement, PICC and tunneled central venous catheter dressing changes, and implanted port access
  • Administer medications as prescribed, performing therapy-specific clinical assessments in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures and protocols, which may include frequent vital sign monitoring, management of acute infusion reactions, monitoring of side effects, and procurement of laboratory specimens
  • Communicate observations of patient response to therapy and overall physical assessment/condition with members of the care team in a timely manner, which may include the nursing supervisor, dispensing pharmacist, registered dietitian, and licensed prescriber, among others
  • Establish collaborative relationships with home health agencies (HHAs) delivering services on behalf of / or in conjunction with the Company, providing agency education and support as requested by the nursing supervisor
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of infusion therapies administered in the home and ambulatory infusion center, utilizing Company policies, procedures and protocols in addition to all available training resources to ensure understanding of each therapy before initiating treatment
  • Maintain current nursing licensure in all states in which patients are serviced, as required by the respective State Boards of Nursing and/or Department of Health
  • Comply with all State and Federal regulations and laws, including employee health and safety protections mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), patient privacy and data security required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), as well as all home infusion standards of practice
  • Complete all training required upon hire and annually per policy, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Serve as a professional representative of the Company when meeting with and/or providing education to external customers, payers and referral sources
  • Assist in staff orientation and training, serving as a clinical educator and resource as requested
  • Drive personal/rental vehicle (per travel policy) in the completion of job duties, including (but not limited to) travel to the Company office, patient homes, area hospitals, physician offices, home health agency offices, and the Company's Ambulatory Infusion Suite (AIS)

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification, or willing to obtain prior to starting employment
  • 1+ years of experience working as an RN in a clinical care setting that contributes to proficiency in infusion therapy (such as medical surgical unit, emergency department, intensive care unit, post-anesthesia care unit, or similar setting)
  • Proficient with electronic medical record documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work with an interdisciplinary team of professionals including pharmacists and technicians, physicians and other licensed prescribers, registered dietitians, home health agencies (HHAs), sales representatives, and others as needed to provide comprehensive care and support of patients and caregivers
  • Demonstrated ability to and able to work independently in home or alternate-site settings
  • Demonstrated ability to and able to assume a flexible work schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to and able to meet attendance, overtime, after-hours on-call, and other reliability requirements of the position
  • Access to reliable transportation that will enable travel to customer and/or patient sites

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience administering infusion therapy in a home or alternate-site setting
  • Bilingual with Spanish
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) programs
  • Knowledge of the Infusion Nursing Society (INS) standards of practice, policies and procedures

Job Description

The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs. This is a renewable, full-time, non-tenured, administrative position and reports to the Chancellor. The position may be primarily located in either Reno or Las Vegas, Nevada.

The NSHE is comprised of eight institutions: two universities, a state college, four community colleges and a research institute. The public system of higher education in Nevada continues to experience growth with significant challenges and opportunities in serving over 105,000 students and 15,000 employees.

The Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs serves as the chief academic and student affairs executive for NSHE, responsible for setting strategic direction, driving systemwide policy, and ensuring accountable implementation of initiatives that advance academic quality, student success, and research competitiveness.

As a key member of the Chancellor's Cabinet, the Vice Chancellor exercises enterprise-level leadership and decision-making authority, advising the Chancellor and Board of Regents on high-impact academic, student, and research policy issues. The role is accountable not only for policy development, but for translating strategy into execution across all NSHE institutions, ensuring consistency, compliance, and measurable outcomes.

This position leads the design and implementation of systemwide initiatives spanning academic programs, transfer and articulation, student services, financial aid, and research administration. The Vice Chancellor actively identifies emerging risks and opportunities, develops actionable solutions, and drives coordinated responses across multiple institutions and stakeholders.

The Vice Chancellor also ensures NSHE remains responsive to national trends and evolving higher education demands by integrating data-driven insights into strategic planning and policy decisions.

With direct oversight of Student Affairs, Sponsored Programs and EPSCoR, and Institutional Research, the Vice Chancellor holds full accountability for performance, outcomes, and alignment within these areas-ensuring effective operations, cross-functional integration, and continuous system improvement.

SALARY GRADE: *This position offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, and certification/training. In addition to base salary, employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
Comprehensive Health Insurance: includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Additionally, an employer paid long term disability plan is included.
Outstanding Retirement Plan: professional employees are required to participate in the 401(a) Retirement Plan Alternative (RPA). Serve as a strategic advisor and executive liaison to the Academic, Research and Student Affairs (ARSA) Committee and other Board of Regents committees. Lead the development of meeting agendas in collaboration with the committee chair, ensuring alignment with system priorities and emerging issues. Coordinate institutional presentations and compile high-quality, analytically grounded briefing materials that clearly communicate key issues, risks, and opportunities. Proactively anticipate Board needs, respond to Regent inquiries with clarity and authority, and provide thoughtful recommendations to inform decision-making and policy direction at the system level.
Chair the Academic Affairs Council (AAC), providing strategic leadership and direction for systemwide academic planning and policy development. Oversee the academic program and organizational unit approval process, ensuring alignment with long-term system goals, workforce needs, and institutional missions. Lead and facilitate collaborative, solution-oriented discussions among institutional representatives to identify challenges, gaps, and opportunities, and to build consensus on complex issues such as funding models, academic innovation, and program alignment. Provide policy analysis, strategic insight, and actionable recommendations, and guide the implementation of agreed-upon changes to strengthen academic quality and effectiveness across the system.
Chair the Student Affairs Council, providing executive leadership and strategic direction for systemwide student affairs policies and initiatives. Lead the development, evaluation, and refinement of policies related to student services, including residency determinations and financial aid coordination. Identify systemic barriers and opportunities impacting student access, success, and equity, and work collaboratively with institutional leaders to develop and implement innovative, student-centered solutions. Ensure clear communication, stakeholder engagement, and alignment of policies with broader system goals and priorities.
Chair the Research Affairs Council, leading strategic planning and policy development to advance research across NSHE. Establish and communicate systemwide research priorities, goals, and performance expectations, and identify opportunities to enhance research productivity, collaboration, and external funding. Facilitate cross-institutional partnerships, address barriers to research growth, and provide data-informed recommendations to strengthen competitiveness. Guide the implementation of initiatives, including those associated with EPSCoR, ensuring alignment with state and national research priorities.
Provide executive oversight and strategic leadership for the NSHE Sponsored Programs and EPSCoR Office. Direct systemwide efforts to enhance research development, grant competitiveness, and external partnership engagement with state and federal agencies. Ensure alignment of sponsored program activities with system priorities and effectively advocate for resources and initiatives that advance NSHE's research mission.
Ensure executive-level oversight and quality assurance of data reporting and analytics across the Academic and Student Affairs division. Lead efforts to leverage data as a strategic asset, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clarity in dashboards, reports, and analyses. Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations that inform executive leadership, institutional strategy, and Board decision-making. Proactively identify trends, gaps, and emerging issues, and guide the development of data-informed strategies to improve system performance, accountability, and outcomes.
Provide strategic leadership and systemwide coordination related to the State's higher education attainment goals. Support and influence policy development aligned with statewide objectives, and monitor, assess, and communicate progress toward established targets. Identify disparities, gaps, and opportunities for improvement, and lead the development and implementation of collaborative, system-level strategies to increase educational attainment. Engage stakeholders across institutions and external partners to align efforts and drive measurable impact.
Provide executive oversight and strategic guidance for NSHE's participation in SARA and membership in NC-SARA. Ensure compliance with applicable standards while identifying opportunities to enhance interstate educational access and program delivery. Serve as a key decision-maker and advisor on matters related to state authorization, distance education, and regulatory alignment. Communicate effectively with institutional leaders and external stakeholders and lead continuous improvement efforts to strengthen NSHE's position in the national higher education landscape.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for the management of the Project Control activities including scheduling, budgeting, estimating, risk management, cost reporting & forecasting and earned value measurement & productivity reporting and oversight and audit/validation of contractors cost, progress, and schedule activities.

Lead development of project specific PC execution strategies.

Coordinate with Operations Managers and Project Managers on reporting, project control activities, and other services.

Manage development of procedures for various project control activities including budget preparation, forecasts, progress validation and related cost engineering and planning/scheduling functions.

Manage cost estimating/forecasting activities including periodic project re-estimates and cost benchmark metrics.

Facilitate and oversee the risk assessment, mitigation and contingency planning process for the project.

Ensure full integration between the estimating, cost control, planning/scheduling, and risk management functions within projects.

Participate and assist with contract administration activities.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.

Project Management Professional Certification.

Level of Experience Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in project control on large construction projects.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Significant experience in construction and/or maintenance field required specializing in project controls.

Demonstrated experience and working understanding of project planning and scheduling, cost control and cost estimating.

Ability to interpret and perform analysis of cost and schedule reports and data.

Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment.

Has clearly demonstrated strong technical competence.

Experience in preparation of cost estimates.

Demonstrated capability to lead a group responsible for control of planning, scheduling, cost control and cost estimating activities.

Preferred Master’s degree in applicable field.
