Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid role for a fire protection engineering consultant in our San Diego, CA office. The primary responsibilities include developing technical reports for battery energy storage systems (hazard mitigation analyses, emergency response plans), designing fire protection systems (fire alarm, fire suppression) in AutoCAD, and conducting fire protection code consulting analyses (high-piled storage, hazardous materials, lithium-ion battery storage, alternate material and method requests, fire protection plan reviews). The role involves code analysis, report generation, and providing practical and code compliant resolutions to address the client's needs. The consultant will collaborate closely with a lead engineer for each project.
Qualifications
- E.I.T. or P.E. license preferred
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD and other CAD software for fire protection system design
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field

Fire & Risk Alliance, LLC is seeking motivated, hands‑on technicians to join our Cambridge, MD team. This role is ideal for graduates of mechanical, electrical, or construction trade programs who enjoy building, assembling, and working with tools and equipment in active testing environments.
Our Cambridge testing facility focuses on medium‑ and large‑scale fire testing, fire suppression research, deflagration protection, gas detection, and battery energy storage safety. You’ll work directly with engineers to build test rigs, install instrumentation, and support major research programs.
Role Description
- Build and assemble medium‑ and large‑scale experimental test structures
- Install sensors, wiring, piping, mechanical components, and instrumentation
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery
- Assist with data collection, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Support field work, equipment transport, and on‑site test operations

Qualifications

Responsibilities Develop XR applications using OpenXR (end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, and iteration).

Strong C/C++ and/or C# skills (depending on stack), plus solid debugging skills.
Experience with a real-time engine or framework such as Unity (C#) and OpenXR plugin ecosystem, or Unreal (C++) XR pipeline, or Custom/native OpenXR rendering with Vulkan/OpenGL/DirectX Understanding of rendering/perf constraints for XR (72/90/120 FPS targets, GPU/CPU bottlenecks, latency).
