Description
Responsibilities:
1. Perform diagnostic laboratory procedures that provide timely and accurate test results for providers use in appropriately diagnosing and treating patients.
2. Participate in our Laboratory's Quality Assurance Plan.
3. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by practicing River's Edge Hospital's Standards of Behavior.

19. Perform only those waived, moderate, and/or high complexity tests that are authorized by the Lab Manager and require a degree skill commensurate with the individual's education, training or experience and technical abilities.
20. Follow the Lab's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
21. Properly identify and collect adequate specimens for laboratory testing via the following collection processes:
1. Venipuncture
2. Capillary collection
3. Arterial collection (Radial only)
22. Participate in proficiency testing program.
23. Adhere to the Laboratory's quality control policy and procedures; document all quality control activities, instruments and procedure calibrations and maintenance performed.
24. Follow the Lab's established polices and procedures whenever test systems are not within the Lab's established acceptable levels of performance.
25. Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problem or immediately notify the Lab Manager, Senior Lab Tech, Technical Supervisor, or Clinical Consultant.
26. Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the Lab's established performance specifications.
27. Possess a working knowledge of reagent stability and storage.
28. Is knowledgeable and adheres to Patient Bill of Rights and hospital policies relating to privacy, confidentiality and respect (HIPAA).
29. Is knowledgeable in and follows and promotes facility policies and procedures including, but not limited to Infection Control, Safety, Quality Assurance, Lab's Chemical Hygiene Program, etc.
30. Must be flexible with sharing scheduled weekends, holidays, evening shift, and overnight scheduled shift.
31. Is willing to serve on facility committees when asked to do so (Employee Safety Committee).
32. Is willing to participate in CQI and other lab projects.
33. Must be flexible with sharing training duties for new employees and MLT/MLS students with other Lab personnel when requested to do so.
34. Must be trained and certified to collect Urine Drug Screens for DOT and Non-DOT employees.
Requirements
1. Have earned an Associate Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) from an accredited institution and must be ASCP Certified or equivalent. If not already certified, new graduates must be eligible for certification and obtain MLT/MLS Certification within one year of employment.
2. Must be certified with one of the following: ASCP, HEW, HHS, ASMT.
3. Must be able to travel to other work sites as needed with own transportation.
4. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or will be certified within six months of hire through the American Heart Association.
Summary
This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period) position in our Laboratory.
Shifts are typically 8 hours and will be primarily overnights, with some evening shifts. No more than every-other weekend.

Position Description
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in supporting continuous production and ensuring compliance with State, Federal, and local specifications in our Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) operations. This position requires a mechanically inclined, hands-on individual who is experienced and comfortable working in manual labor environments using tools, equipment, and machinery. Based at Peckham’s asphalt plant, the role also includes field work involving the collection of samples at local and regional paving sites where HMA is being placed.
Essential Functions:
1. Protect Family and Friends. Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and guidelines. Support business activities, objectives, and programs.
2. Mastery. Reliably perform all required HMA materials testing in accordance with the procedures outlined in Peckham Industries' Quality Control Program, with a focus on producing the highest quality product in the most cost-effective manner. Conduct asphalt mix testing such as gradation, asphalt content, volumetrics, and temperature checks, and accurately input results into the QC software program.
3. Ownership and caring. Maintain a strong understanding of asphalt plant production equipment and facility operations to identify, diagnose, and assist in correcting production deficiencies. Collaborate with plant management and equipment operators, maintaining awareness of production and maintenance schedules. Observe and participate in on-site HMA testing, including mat density, temperature, and compaction monitoring.
4. Communicate test results and any quality-related concerns promptly and consistently to plant management to support informed decision-making and continuous quality improvement. Act as a liaison between paving crews, contractors, and dispatch, ensuring smooth communication regarding mix quality and production timelines.
5. Results matter. Document all quality control testing clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner. Maintain a database of daily test results and ensure the testing environment is clean and safe. Ensure that laboratory equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
6. Respect and engage. Serve as a resource to the sales team, customers, paving crews, and plant management by offering technical support and assistance related to HMA quality and performance. Recommend and assist with adjustments to mix designs or production processes to ensure compliance with job specifications.
7. Dedication. Collect and prepare HMA samples at the plant and job sites in accordance with specification requirements, including loose mix and compacted specimens for quality verification and acceptance testing.
8. Committed to serve. Perform testing of fine and coarse aggregate gradations, asphalt binder properties, and reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) materials, increasing testing frequency when materials fall outside of specifications. Maintain inventory of mix additives, fibers, and other specialty materials used in asphalt production.
Position Requirements
Requirements, Education and Experience:
1. Degree in construction, engineering, or related fields is preferred but not required.
2. Experience in Hot Mix Asphalt or a relatable field is encouraged. 3-5 Years of relatable knowledge preferable.
3. Must have the flexibility to work irregular hours, including days, evenings, overnights, and occasional weekends, based on customer schedules and business needs, particularly during paving operations.
4. Must currently hold or be willing to obtain applicable asphalt-related certifications (e.g., NETTCP, ACI Asphalt, or State DOT certifications, as applicable).
5. Must have experience working in hands-on, manual labor environments.
6. Comfortable using mechanical tools, equipment, and machinery.
7. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
8. Proficient in English literacy and basic computational math; clear verbal and written communication is essential.
9. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communications.
10. Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

What You'll Do:
As an associate you will be working within one of several teams:
* Receiving: This team accepts our customers' new inventory and owns the entire process of getting that inventory put away and accepted into our system. The responsibility of communicating the arrivals and any exceptions are receiving owned as well.
* Picking: Spread across two different processes our picking team is responsible for delivering products to the next stage of the process quickly and accurately. An integral team in the warehouse, pickers and their peers keep the flow of customers products moving and keep the warehouse humming.
* Packing: The final touches before a customer receives their products, the packing team is responsible for ensuring the quality of each and every shipment as well as packing the items correctly.
