The Dentist will provide direct dental care to patients.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides full range of dental care services to Star Community Health dental patients.
Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
Supervises the day to day activities of dental assistant, dental hygienist and dental residents.
Assesses competencies and assists in conducting performance evaluations.
Attends mandated hospital and departmental meetings and functions Monitors quality of patient care through a peer review system, medical record quality, laboratory and x-ray usage, including, pharmaceutical formulary and drug usage as appropriate.
Maintains compliance with department policy regarding accurate and timely patient charting in the EMR system.
Creates a positive milieu in the dental program that fosters dental residents learning and development.
Evaluates residents’ clinical learning process on a quarterly basis.
Evaluates residents’ clinical performance in accordance with established standards defined by the residency program and the commission on dental accreditation.
Establishes positive faculty-resident relationship with effective communications in formal and informal contacts.
Assumes clinical teaching assignments as per the dental residency program policy.
Implements the program philosophy, conceptual framework, and content/ process instructional plan to insure integrity of the curriculum.
Utilizes current dental research applicable to area of teaching.
Participates in activities promoting the dental residency program.
Serves as a professional role model for residents and staff.
Monitors and complies with all infection control and safety procedures.
Offers suggestions to improve work methods or procedures.
Participates in Quality Improvement Process.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sit up to 6 hours per day; 1 hour at a time.
Stand for up to 2 hours per day.
Walk 6 hours per day; 10 minutes at a time.
Consistently lift, carry and push objects up to 10 lbs.
Occasionally lift, carry and push objects up to 75 lbs.
Frequently stoop and bend.
Frequently reach above shoulder level.
Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch.
Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, and high and low frequencies.
Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral visions.
EDUCATION: A valid unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of Pennsylvania and evidence of current professional liability insurance.
A current conscious sedation (Nitrous Oxide sedation) license is desirable.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Five years of experience in a clinical setting is strongly recommended.
Current certificate in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support.

Job Summary and QualificationsThe CT Technologist shall be responsible for performing CT and Radiologic procedures that are in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and Hospital Policies and Procedures. Optimizes the use of radiation by utilizing the concepts of Image Gently, Image Wisely and American College of Radiology. The CT Technologist demonstrates knowledge of the human structure and functions, patient care/safety, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, medication safety (contrast) and specialized techniques. Maintains professional judgment and conduct that is complimentary of the ARRT Code of Ethics and St. David’s Healthcare Values.Responsibilities of the CT Technologist- Consistently produce CT - Computed Tomography scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age groups.
- Follows established scanning and viewing protocols.
- Operate CT - Computed Tomography scanner and related equipment efficiently and effectively.
- Complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing work flow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet OP customer standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute and challenging patients; possess skills to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of disease processes and produces studies that optimally identify related anatomy.
- Solicit patient cooperation by providing patient education about procedure and expected sensations before and throughout scan.
- Demonstrate competence in using the power injector; verbalize limits of use.
- Complete required documentation on forms, logs, work station, and charting system.
- Assist the Radiologist during invasive procedures, demonstrate knowledge of supplies required and ensure availability.
EDUCATION:
- Graduate of an America Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology
EXPERIENCE:
- One year of experience performing CT - Computed Tomography procedures is preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
- Certified by Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist
- Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT, RTR)
- Post- primary CT certification within 6 months of CT assignment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
