Sasha Bruce Youthwork (SBY) is the leading provider of homeless youth services in the DC Region. Through the holistic integration of its Pillars of Opportunity, Sasha Bruce is able to provide safe homes, life skills, workforce & education, and health & wellness to meet the unique needs of homeless youth. For more than 45 years, Sasha Bruce has implemented innovative interventions aimed at bringing an end to youth homelessness in the DC region. Today, its programs in DC and Prince George's County, MD, reach over 6,500 runaway, homeless, abused, and neglected youth, and their families.
Philip Reid is a joint 90-day shelter and extended transitional housing program for up to 24 youth through the age of 24. The short-term shelter allows young people to stay up to 90 days before they are placed with a longer-term housing program through the CAHP system. For the ETH side, chronically homeless youth can stay up to six years, depending on their age and are supported with intensive case management services in order to establish a level of stability and self-sufficiency.
The Behavioral Health Clinician will report to the Program Manager of Philip Reid and regularly check in with the Clinical Team. They will respond to the behavioral health needs of program participants, provide on-site counseling and clinical support.
Qualifications:
- Required License/Certification: Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field. Licensure to practice psychotherapy in Washington, DC, independently or under supervision (LGSW, LICSW, LGPC, LPC).
- Preferred: 3-5 years of experience providing services in behavioral health, addiction treatment and mental health; experience providing behavioral health services in a primary care setting or in the community; experience working with the homeless population;
- A minimum of 2 years of extensive experience with at risk youth;
- Competency in crisis intervention and de-escalation;
- Modalities may include Family Systems, CBT, Somatic Experiencing, Group and EMDR;
- Provision of LGBTQ affirming, de-pathologized care;
- Strong communication and organizational skills required; and,
- Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a full-time, exempt level position. All candidates must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation; pass the required clearances; and provide any additional information regarding previous records, if necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a range of clinical services to youth including individual, group and family therapy using methods and modalities appropriate to the client;
- Deliver individual crisis intervention to clients on site; de-escalate and stabilize clients;
- Facilitate psycho-education groups on-site, utilizing evidence based practices on various topics including substance abuse, coping skills, mental health and wellbeing, and other related subjects;
- Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and create treatment and safety plans that are person-centered through a collaborative, goal-oriented process with youth and staff, particularly addressing identified behavior modification needs
- Assess eligibility for ongoing community based services; collaborate with families, schools, law enforcement and emergency services, and other agencies and community partners to coordinate and facilitate services outlined in treatment plan to clients;
- Complete service documentation in client case records within 24-48 hours of the service; maintain accurate, complete, and confidential case files, written documentation, reports to track client progress and outcomes and all other necessary clinical documentation;
- Participate in regular team consultation meetings, staff meetings, trainings, conferences, regular supervision and community outreach events as required;
- Complete all required trainings on an annual basis;
- Participate in clinical supervision with the Sasha Bruce Clinical Team;
- Availability in evenings and weekends as needed;
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager, the Chief of Programs or their designee; and,

Hackensack Meridian Health Carrier Clinic’s East Mountain Youth Lodge provides a continuum of out of home residential treatment services for adolescents between the ages of 13-18. We provide 24 hour clinical, therapeutic treatment for emotional, behavioral, psychiatric and substance abuse difficulties based on the resident strengths and needs.
Responsibilties:
1. Directly supervises and knows the whereabouts of every resident they are assigned. 2. Supervises, observes, and participates with residents in the carrying out of the daily routine (i.e. chores). Consistently implements all program procedures (i.e. point systems, level systems).
3. Runs activity, support and recreation groups with guidance from clinical staff. Organizes, supervises and conducts planned activities for groups and individuals. Provides assistance to residents in the planning of appropriate recreational activities.
4. Serves as a primary counselor for an assigned number of residents.
5. Assists residents in learning home management skills (cooking, cleaning, etc). Teaches residents about the importance of cleanliness, good nutrition, meal planning, prudent buying, etc., while guiding them in learning skill mastery.
6. Corrects client behavior by administering reasonable and fair disciplinary measures when necessary. Ensures each resident is informed of the rules and regulations of the program.
7. Provides crisis intervention to residents as needed. Assists in escorts and personal restraints of agitated residents. Attentive to building security and performs such checks as designed by the program.
8. Conducts resident room checks and room searches as designed by the program.
9. Carries a beeper for one week in rotation. Is on-call and ready to respond to staff shortages by calling and locating a replacement and/or filling the shift him/herself.
10. Inspects and handles belongings and valuables of residents to ensure that prohibited material is not brought into the Lodge at admission, upon return from pass, or as clinically indicated, under the direction of a Shift Leader.
11. Assists residents with daily living activities (i.e.; waking up, hygiene, cleaning room, participating in structure, behaving appropriately on activity).
12. Provides input to administration members regarding unit-based PI measures based on concerns, high risk, high volume issues.
13. Ensures that paperwork is completed accurately and within procedural time limits. 14. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
15. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Co-Occurring (Wolf), RTC (Eagle, Butterfly) Will have one of the following qualifications: (1) High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs with one year of experience working with youth in a group setting. (2) An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a field that is unrelated to social work or psychology with six months of experience working with youth in a group setting. (3) An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or a related field.
- PCH (Lotus, Sunflower) Bachelor's Degree or High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs, with three or more years of experience providing direct care to youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting

The Medical Case Manager (BHI Utilization Management) will be responsible for reviewing and processing requests for authorization and notification of behavioral health services from health professionals, clinical facilities and ancillary providers. You will be responsible for prior authorizations, concurrent review and related processes. You will utilize CalOptima Health's medical criteria, policies and procedures to authorize referral requests from behavioral health professionals, clinical facilities and ancillary providers. You will directly interact with providers and facilities and serve as a resource for their needs. Together, we are building a stronger, more equitable health system.
Your Contributions To the Team:
- 85% ‐ Utilization Management Services

- Screens inpatient and outpatient requests for the Medical Director's review, gathers pertinent medical information prior to submission to the Medical Director, follows up with the requester by communicating the Medical Director's decision and documents follow‐up in the utilization management system.
- Completes the required documentation for data entry into the utilization management system at the time of the telephone call or fax to include any authorization updates.
- Contacts the health networks and/or CalOptima Health Customer Service regarding health network enrollments.
- Identifies and reports any complaints to the immediate supervisor utilizing the call tracking system or through verbal communication if the issue is of an urgent nature.
- Refers cases of possible over/under utilization to the Medical Director for proper reporting.
- Completes care coordination activities as related to Transition Care Management (TCM) activities.
- Reviews International Classification of Diseases (ICD‐10), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT‐4) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes for accuracy and the existence of coverage specific to the line of business.

RN Behavioral Health PT (48 hours) Position Summary: This role provides direct clinical patient care.
The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level.
The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated.
The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Has effective interpersonal and communication skills and ability to serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.
Qualifications: Required: Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (bachelor's or master's degree).
Certifications: Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR.
