The School Social Worker plays a vital role in supporting students’ social-emotional well‑being, addressing barriers to learning, and collaborating with school teams to ensure every student has access to the services and supports they need to be successful.


Position Details:

  • Start Date: 08/10/2026
  • End Date: 06/10/2027
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, school hours
  • Grade Levels: K–12
  • Location: In Person, 37.5 hours per week
  • School Year: 2026/2027


Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ social‑emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Conduct assessments and participate in the development of IEPs, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and other student support plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to address barriers to learning and promote a positive school climate.
  • Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to connect students with needed resources.
  • Support crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and restorative practices within the school.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state, district, and special education guidelines.
  • Provide services across K–12 settings, adapting supports to meet the developmental needs of each age group.


Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker Endorsement required.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
  • Experience working in school settings strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IEPs, evaluations, MTSS/RTI processes, and special education procedures.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish certification required.
