Position Overview
The High School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in courses such as Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, and other advanced mathematics subjects while aligning instruction with *Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) Mathematics Standards & Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) Standards*. The teacher creates an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse student needs and promotes critical thinking and mathematical reasoning.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with KSDE standards.
* Teach courses such as *Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics*.
* Promote mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
* Incorporate real-world applications and culturally relevant learning opportunities.
* Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments.
* Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with disabilities and English learners.
* Prepare students for state assessments, college readiness benchmarks, and career pathways.

* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.

Minimum Qualifications
* *Bachelor’s degree* in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
* *Valid Kansas Teaching License* with appropriate Mathematics endorsement issued by KSDE. Out of state license accepted in Lieu of KS certification.
* Knowledge of KSDE Mathematics Standards and curriculum frameworks.
* Strong understanding of algebraic reasoning, geometry, statistics, and advanced mathematics concepts.
* Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners.
* Strong classroom management, instructional planning, and communication skills.
* Ability to analyze student data to guide instructional decisions.
* Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools.
* Successful completion of required background checks.
* Teaching experience in secondary mathematics is required

The ideal MDS Candidate is very detailed orientated, organized, self-motivated, while still being bedside for resident assessment and meeting with families. Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
How you Will make a Difference:- Collect information to complete the MDS using the medical record, bedside assessment, and staff, resident and/or family interviews.
- Participate in Daily PPS meetings, weekly Medicare meetings, and month end meetings to assure federal billing requirements are met. Review Plan of Care at least quarterly and with each Comprehensive Assessment to assure changes during the quarter are included and updated.
- Provide ongoing education of the RAI process to all interdisciplinary team members, direct and indirect caregivers, business office, etc. with all changes and as appropriate.
- Registered Nurse with required current state licensure.
- Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in a health care setting; long-term care setting preferred.

Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Ambulatory setting in accordance with University Health policies and standards.
