About the Position
The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Hearing Board Member. This is an open recruitment for five (5) Hearing Board Member, volunteer position.

The Hearing Board is established by state law and consists of five members and their alternates - an attorney, a professional engineer, a member from the medical profession and two members of the public.

The Air District is currently recruiting for the following five (5) Hearing Board seats:

• Alternate member in the Medical category
• Principal member in the Professional Engineer category (Must have PE certification upon applying)

Prominent Duties
The Hearing Board is a quasi-judicial body that rules on particular cases that affect only individual facilities. It is authorized to hear requests for variance relief, permit revocation, abatement orders, and appeals by permit applicants, or by interested third parties, concerning the issuance or denial of permits.

The College Writing Programs at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach summer courses in the College Writing Programs should openings arise. The number of positions varies from summer to summer, depending on the department's needs. All positions are handled on a by-agreement basis.

Programs include:

English Language and Culture: Our English for Academic and Specific Purposes courses are aimed at high-beginning through advanced-level students who want to enhance their English language skills, improve job performance, or undertake university work. Courses are offered both online and in person and are grounded in theme-based and project-based learning.

Creative Writing: Courses include short fiction and drama, nonfiction, poetry, and performance and reading. Most courses are 3-week workshops, although a few are in a longer 6-week format. They are offered both online and in person. A record of publication in creative writing is preferred for creative writing teaching candidates.

Public Speaking: We offer introductory, advanced, and online public speaking courses for lower-division students. All are in a 6-week format.

Reading and Writing in the Disciplines: Courses focusing on education; writing in the biological sciences, law, and business; and other disciplines are offered both online and in person.

Reading & Composition (Berkeley students): We offer online sections of required courses for Berkeley undergraduates, who receive priority enrollment. Instructors must be experienced in teaching composition. Course lengths vary from 8 to 10 weeks.

Job duties:

Successful applicants will teach one or more summer courses. Applicants will be responsible for all classes, including crafting syllabi, teaching in a classroom environment, and grading student work. Instructors will also be required to attend faculty meetings.

Successful applicants will be interested not only in teaching but also in being part of a faculty team. Participation in faculty development workshops and ongoing self-evaluation are important to our program.

UC lecturers are academic appointees and are represented by an exclusive bargaining agent, University Council - American Federation of Teachers (UC-AFT). This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement of the UC-AFT.

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

During the Summer 2026 Buying/Merchandising internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience as a member of our Buying team within the Furniture/Wood category. Reporting to a Buying Leader, you’ll be directly involved in the buying process – driving business strategies, working on seasonal line plans, conducting competitor and sales analyses, and assisting with product launches and store communication. This role will give you exposure to multiple parts of the business as you collaborate cross-functionally with product development, planning, industrial design, sourcing, marketing, and store operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting Buyers with tasks such as SKU creation and maintenance
• Clear knowledge of target customer and competitive market
• PIM (product information) maintenance
• Product Launch / Store Product Request Maintenance
• Manage time sensitive deliveries of sample and stock product need at Marketing Photo Shoots and Mock Store reviews

Bloomingdale’s Credit Experience Advocates are responsible for delivering an intimate and distinctive customer experience by responding to Bloomingdale’s customer inquiries via phone, chat, or email. Experience Advocates will provide full ownership to credit related inquiries, seizing the opportunity to rewrite the end of the story. What You Will Do

• Deliver a luxury customer experience through greeting and engaging the customer and providing a genuine and friendly interaction
• Respond to customer inbound calls, chat, or email in an efficient and friendly manner. Always conveying empathy for customer friction points.
• Promote and communicate current sales and loyalty promotions.
• Conduct extensive account research to provide appropriate resolution to customer issues or disputes related to credit reports, billing, payments, account balances, and other credit-related matters, including following up with the customer as needed
• Accurately record and maintain customer information, interactions, and case details in agent desktop systems.
• Engage and collaborate with stores, key stakeholders and business leadership on complex and escalated situations showing our customers that our connection makes us like No Other Store in the World.
• Be entrepreneurial and leverage elevated empowerment to manage appropriate customer accommodations.
• Always act with integrity, humanity, humility, and respect.
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
• Responsibilities may fluctuate due to business need and colleagues may be responsible to correspond with customers via inbound calls, chats, or emails.

Who You Are

• Ability to integrate Bloomingdale’s customer experience model into all interactions
• Adaptable and able to adjust quickly to changing customer expectations and needs
• Ability to be a self-started who is comfortable taking the initiative to learn new things; strong decision-making abilities; strong analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers
• Experience in customer service or a related field, preferably in the credit services industry or luxury selling
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Empathic, patient, and professional while dealing with customers, especially in stressful situations Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information
• Resourceful and eager to start a new venture and can adapt to changing priorities; you can work on your own but are great with team dynamics
• High-School diploma or related experience

Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform

• This position requires talking, sitting and reaching with arms and hands.
• Involves sitting and talking for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 10lbs., stooping, kneeling, and crouching
• Reaching, including above eye level
• Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment
• Able to navigate multiple computer applications from a dual monitor setup
