Position description

This position will assist with research at the forefront of Behavioral, Public, and Labor Economics. The position entails analyzing public and private datasets using quasi-experimental methods, assisting with literature reviews, helping set-up and analyze randomized experiments both online and in the field, and using computational techniques to test predictions of economic theory and to evaluate public policies. Will perform data analysis using statistical packages such as Stata and perform numerical simulations using languages such as Matlab. Will utilize collaborative tools like GitHub to manage projects and tasks. We will help prepare the researcher for applying to graduate programs in economics.



Duties will include:




  • Assists in setting up experiments in the field and online. Coordinates surveys and the data collection process. Responds to questions from participants.
  • Assist in the set-up and analysis of randomized experiments both online and in the field, and using computational techniques to test predictions of economic theory and to evaluate public policies.
  • Applies professional or research concepts to perform analysis of data and systems pertaining to moderately complex projects, policies, initiatives, / processes, and / or functions:
  • Assists with research at the forefront of Behavioral, Public, and Labor Economics by analyzing public and private datasets using quasi-experimental methods. Position description

The Division of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach courses in any of the possible areas:



* Modern Hebrew

* Modern Greek

* Egyptology



In addition to instruction, general responsibilities include (but are not limited to) some or all of the following: preparing course materials and assignments, maintaining course website, providing guidance, in consultation with ladder faculty, to undergraduates in MELC majors/minors, supervising and preparing graduated student instructors, holding office hours, writing and grading exams, and grading and commenting on papers, and for language instructors, cooperating with department's language coordinators to plan and teach the department's Language Pedagogy courses. * For all language instruction: Native or near-native fluency in specified language (select specialization). College-level teaching in specified language. * For Modern Hebrew: Master's/Doctoral degree (or equivalent) in Hebrew language, linguistics, applied linguistics or related field. Native or near-native competence in speaking, listening, writing, and reading Hebrew. Experience in teaching Hebrew at the college level.

* For Modern Greek: Master's/Doctoral degree (or equivalent) in Modern Greek language, linguistics, applied linguistics or related field. Native or near-native competence in speaking, listening, writing, and reading Modern Greek. Knowledge of Katharevousa as well as Demotic Greek is preferred. Experience in teaching Modern Greek at the college level.

Position description

The Department of Metabolic Biology & Nutrition (MBN) at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a Program Coordinator (Academic Coordinator I/Lecturer) for the Master of Nutritional Sciences & Dietetics (MNSD) program. The individual will serve as a key member of the academic administrative team and instructional faculty. The incumbent will collaborate with the Program Director to coordinate and implement the MNSD program. The incumbent will formulate educational goals, analyze educational outcomes, and refine curricula based on emerging pedagogical theories and accreditation standards.



Central to this role is the coordination and implementation of supervised practice rotations and other aspects of the program. This includes managing instructional schedules, overseeing on-boarding, and performance tracking, where the incumbent directs student performance within worksite training facilities to ensure mastery of core competencies.



The incumbent will contribute to strategic academic operations, including student recruitment, graduate admissions, student advising, the identification of preceptors to maintain a robust network of external partners, and planning social and educational enrichment activities.



To ensure student readiness for professional practice, the incumbent will design and deliver specialized workshops and structured instructional sessions tailored to the needs of students pursuing future practice as registered dietitians. This includes developing, planning, and supervising campus-based practice experiences and providing educational remediation for students requiring advanced support in areas such as clinical practice, counseling, foundational sciences, and management.



While students are in their internships, the incumbent facilitates weekly student meetings, and provides scholarly evaluation guidance on projects and assignments. This is the Lecturer component of the position.
