The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization is seeking a Software Configuration Management Specialist (Associate or Experienced) for the Precision Engagement Systems programs team in St. Charles, MO (St. Louis Metro Area) to perform configuration planning, identification, change control, tracking, and verification, and facilitate program baseline management.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced Level Configuration Managers.
The Software Configuration Management Specialist will be a member of the build team and will support the Change Configuration Board (CCB). This role reviews all software releases for accuracy, documents CCB meetings by capturing minutes, tracks and follows up on action items, and coordinates final release activities.

Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Change Control Board (CCB) process for software: schedule and facilitate CCB meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, track action items, and ensure changes are reviewed and approved before implementation.
- Produce and maintain program CM artifacts: CM plans, product/document identification schemes, baselines, and traceability records.
- Prepare and process change documents: Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Requests for Variance (RFV), Change Documents/Requests (CD/CRs), and related approvals.
- Oversee software build and release activities: plan, schedule, coordinate and execute builds and deployments; operate and improve build/release processes to minimize errors and cycle time.
- Manage version control, repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and build environments; resolve environment inconsistencies and release failures.
- Perform configuration audits and verification to confirm product/documentation baselines.
- Assess prime and supplier contract CM requirements and coordinate supplier change management.
- Support determinations of export authority for technical work products and assist with industry quality audits for CM.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional stakeholders to align release schedules, program planning, and program-level CM activities.
- Drive continuous improvement of CM processes, tooling, and metrics.
Basic Qualifications: (Required Skills/ Experience)
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and change management practices
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- 1+ years editing PDF and Word files

We are seeking Systems Engineers with Demonstrated ability to apply systems engineering principles in modern software environments, with strong understanding of DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD practices, and cloud-native architectures. Candidates should be comfortable working across disciplines to integrate hardware, software, and mission systems in secure environments, collaborating closely with developers and test engineers to validate end-to-end functionality. Experience with containerized applications, automated build and test processes, and infrastructure as code is essential to ensuring system performance, security, and mission assurance. The integration and test team will lead system-level integration, verification, and acceptance test activities to ensure software systems meet performance, reliability, and interoperability requirements in an operational environment.
Position Responsibilities
- Review, develop, document, and maintain system requirements and traceability across the lifecycle.
- Define test strategies, plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria for component, integration, and system-level testing.

The MSSE Program is a unique program that is designed to formally train scientists, engineers, and computer scientists in computational and data science, and to provide them with the tools, software engineering practices, leadership, management, and entrepreneurial skills needed to create or lead science- or engineering-based enterprises. While the degree focuses on the molecular sciences, its content is suitable for any student pursuing software engineering or data science roles in other science-based industries, or in other areas that require advanced machine learning, complex mathematical modeling and simulations, or high-performance computing.
General Duties:
Classroom teaching and preparation, managing and mentoring graders and/or graduate student instructors (teaching assistants), holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and using Cal's electronic resources for course management.
The MSSE Program seeks candidates who can support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy.

The Institute of Simulation and Training (IST) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure earning, embedded research training and engineer-oriented, research position. This is a full-time Contract and Grants (C&G)-based faculty position to support ongoing federally sponsored research in a long-standing and agile R&D lab. We are seeking an Assistant In Embedded Training Researcher/Software Engineer with expertise in advanced algorithms and software development, computer visualization, and immersive training technologies to support the design, development, and implementation of next-generation embedded, visual, and intelligent research training systems. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team conducting applied research in simulation-based training, modeling, and opportunity-based training systems.
Key Responsibilities
Research, design, develop, and implement software to enhance training in real-world and 3D environments. Develop high-fidelity visual simulation and application prototypes.
Research and develop frameworks for embedded hardware and software for advanced embedded training systems.
Work with interdisciplinary teams including engineers, cognitive scientists, and domain experts to define research objectives, design experiments, and analyze results.
Create prototypes and capabilities demonstrators to showcase IST's expertise aligned with trends and opportunities.
Design and execute hands-on demonstrations and exhibits at strategic events.
Perform embedded hardware and software research and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.
Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree from an accredited institution in a field related to computer science or computer engineering and two years of related professional experience, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field related to computer science or computer engineering and five years of related professional experience.

- Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality concepts and development experience

Responsibilities
As a Flight Software Engineer, you will develop highly deterministic C++ software in a bare metal environment that works with sensors & control systems, robustly handles system faults, and integrates with other vehicle subsystems. Responsibilities
In your role as a Displays Software Engineer, your primary focus will be designing, architecting, and building a variety of real-time user interface applications for controlling our automated aircraft systems. These can range from real-time embedded UIs on aviation-grade hardware to browser-based applications. All of these applications will support our work to build a fully certified system in multiple ways: they will serve as a platform for rapidly prototyping different workflows and designs; they will be directly used in our ongoing experimental test flight programs; and they will ultimately serve as a reference implementation for our certified displays and controls.
