Job Description:
- Assists in direction of nursing services for unit/hall, in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Delegates duties to professional nurses and non-professional nursing personnel and monitoring work performance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Observes patients for symptoms and/or reactions, including general physical and/or mental condition for signs, which may be indicative of adverse change.
- Assists with notifying attending physician of emergencies and death of patients in the unit. Implement changes in orders as instructed or ordered by physicians.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school graduate.
- Licensed Practical Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing and submit proof of license renewal every other year.
- Willing to work as charge nurses, and work as needed during emergencies to assure adequate coverage.
- Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients, follow doctorsβ orders, and have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
- CPR certified yearly.
- Attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required.

What Youβll Do:
As a PTA at OSMC, youβll work closely with Physical Therapists to deliver high-quality, individualized care designed to help patients achieve their mobility and recovery goals.
Youβll support the rehab team by:
- Implementing therapy plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists.
- Instructing and guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Monitoring progress and updating clinical documentation.
- Educating patients and families on techniques for continued progress at home.
- Ensuring a safe, encouraging, and patient-first therapy environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current or eligible Indiana PTA license (new grads or pending license welcome).
- Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and therapy documentation.

Hospitalist team provides 24/7 inpatient coverage, including weekends at the Medical Center The hospital s Emergency Department is continuously staffed with a Board Certified Emergency Medicine physician.
Specialists available include urology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, ophthalmology, and hematology/oncology.
Pathologists work at the Medical Center s clinical laboratory.
Access to outpatient clinics including Cardiology, Pulmonology, Hematology/Oncology, Endocrinology, Neurosurgery, Ear, Nose and Throat, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, and Rheumatology, along with diabetes counseling and nutritional therapy The hospitalists are responsible for managing post-surgical patients who are on a ventilator and frequently perform pre-operative assessments for the attending surgeons.
On-Call Rotation infrequent coverage resulting from time-off requests of peer hospitalists for vacations, holidays and continuing medical education.
