POSITION PROFILE

We're looking for a seasoned Engineer that's savvy with preventative maintenance and ongoing repairs to ensure our hotel is safe and comfortable for guests and our team!

THE TASK AT HAND:  

• Conducting ongoing room inspections to identify repair needs  
• Installing or repairing sheet rock and other wall coverings 
• Painting and painting touch-ups as needed throughout the property 
• Installing and repairing basic electrical fixtures, from replacing light switches to swapping lightbulbs 
• Repairing fixtures and furniture 
• Installing, replacing, and programing televisions 
• Performing minor plumbing functions 
• Replacing and repairing heating and cooling pumps as well as preventative maintenance on HVAC units 
• Tracing and repairing all types of water lines  
• Troubleshooting and repairing kitchen equipment 
• Maintaining repair and preventive maintenance records while following service recovery guidelines 
• Adhering to work to local, state and Federal codes while performing all building maintenance needs.  
• Supporting the operations team and completing some House Person functions in the event of staffing shortages or busy periods.  
• Practicing safe work habits by wearing protective safety equipment and complying with MSDS and OSHA standards  
• Helping to ensure overall guest satisfaction 
• Working a flexible schedule based on hotel occupancy or emergency repair needs 

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Top-notch organization skills and the ability to prioritize projects 
• The ability to safely work throughout a shift. Tasks may include walking, standing, bending, and lifting supplies up to 50lbs.  
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment 
• 5+ years of experience in general repair and building maintenance 
• Professional skilled trade licensing in plumbing & electrical preferred, but not required 
• A flexible work schedule as weekend and holiday shifts may be required from time to time 
• Requires mobility and prolonged standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs 
• Extensive knowledge of AC systems & refrigeration

Description

Summary:

Provides direct and indirect services to the GI patient under the supervision of the professional nurse and performs tasks as necessary for the efficient and effective functioning of the GI room, as well as the delivery of quality of care. Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment and supplies and may assist in performing invasive endoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Supports and assists physicians and registered nurses with procedures as directed.
• Verifies proper equipment functioning and performs safety checks.
• Maintains endoscopic equipment and prepares broken scopes to be sent for repairs.
• Collects and delivers specimens collected during procedures, ensuring the field remains sterile.
• Assist with placing monitors on patient.
• Distributes information regarding equipment or instruments at in-service training sessions.
• Validates and refreshes basic professional skills through active participation at in-service trainings.
• Reprocessing endoscopy scopes per ANSI/AAMI Standards
  • proper endoscope handling
  • procedures for leak testing, cleaning, inspecting, disinfecting, sterilizing, packaging, and storing each specific endoscope make and model, including equipment and equipment connections
  • identification of items that are single use and intended to be discarded after use;
    
  • all aspects of decontamination (e.G., disassembly, manual and mechanical cleaning methods and how to monitor their effectiveness, microbicidal processes, equipment operation, inspection, standard precautions, and engineering and work practice controls);
    
  • the operation of the specific manual and mechanical cleaning processes and equipment, manual and mechanical HLD processes, and sterilizing systems used by the health care facility, and the methods and equipment used to verify operation
  • facility and processing area policies and procedures regarding high-level disinfection and sterilization, infection prevention and control, attire, hand hygiene, and compliance with local, state, and/or federal regulations;
    
  • workplace safety related to chemical use and biological hazards

  • Applicable personnel exposure monitoring specific to chemicals used;

  • the processfor removing a damaged endoscope from service and sending it for repair.
• Sterilizes and prepares rooms and equipment, such as scopes, before and after procedures as directed.
• Demonstrating understanding of the patient’s an atomy and abnormalities which could affect the procedure.
• Recognizes emergent situations during endoscopy procedures and demonstrates the ability to set priorities to assist the endoscopy team.
• Assists with therapeutic interventions such as balloon dilations, polypectomy, sphincterotomy, stent placement, and gastrostomy tube placement.
• Coordinates review of special-order supply inventory and ensures rooms are stocked for next day procedures.
• Independently completes annual competencies and any additional competencies related to new procedures.

• SGNA Certification within 6 months of hire required.

* Provide leadership in managing, planning, and implementing the Physical Therapy Assistant program in support of American Career College goals in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes to meet placement expectations.

Who You Are:
The ideal candidate has a minimum of five (5) years (or equivalent), full-time, post licensure experience that includes a minimum of three (3) years (or equivalent) of full-time clinical experience, and possesses the following qualifications:

* Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience.
* Experience in administration/management.
* Experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment, including the equivalent of nine credits of coursework in educational foundations.
* Must possess contemporary expertise (expertise beyond that obtained in an entry-level physical therapy program that represents knowledge and skills reflective of current practice) in assigned teaching areas and demonstrate effectiveness in teaching and student evaluation.

Education:

* Hold a minimum of a master's degree with the appropriate coursework in the subject area required from an institution that is accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).

Licenses/Certifications:

* Current Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license or Physical Therapy (PT) license to practice in any state.

• Clinical RN - Must have a minimum of two (2) year’s prior experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and have a minimum of one year experience in the field in which they teach.

Education: Education and experience must align with state regulations and comply with the rules and regulations of state authorization agencies.

  • Utilize pre- and post- conference to allow students an opportunity to share learned experiences, ensuring clarity of the correlation between  weekly theory content with clinical objectives and experiences.
  • Provide feedback of clinical performance immediately after observation of event and of overall performance at midterm and end of semester.

Your Experience Includes:
